Maybe Cov wanted him for a bit longer to get them out of schtuk and felt happier to take a risk on the lower fee? Would kind of explain his reluctance to talk about our interest in Nov, without dismissing it out of hand. As much as it could be to give Rickie a rest, it could also be to play alongside him when the situation dictates. If we are chasing games or we're playing against sides with smaller centre halves who Rickie and Jutkiewicz could both bully then it'd be great to have this option.
