To be fair, though, Sharp did have a spell out with a broken leg! -

Missed yesterday's game due to 'personal problems' according to the Football League Show. On the move perhaps? -
Great stuff. Excellent performance & I'm not even sure we got out of 2nd gear 2nd half. Same again on Tuesday lads.

Billy Sharp ' Saints deal wasn't right'
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache replied to Dazza82's topic in The Saints
Mirror (yes, I know!) reckons Sharp could be off to Ipswich on loan with a £1.5 million permanent move in January. Wonder if we'll reignite our interest too? Or wonder if Mr Sharp regrets not following up our initial interest in the first place!! -
Another top if the table clash next week, against Boro. Any news on whether Adam will be fit to play?
-
If Barnard is not going to be fit or available then we need other striking options - it's as plain as the twitch on Harry Redknapp's face. Yes, I know we've scored in every game but I just feel with extra striking options around, it could've been even better. Maybe I've become spoilt with the amazing start and I'm unrealistic in wanting even more but I genuinely believe it the extra firepower could really move us away from some of the other promotion contenders. As for De Ridder; would love to see him get a good run of starts. Could be the making of him as a Saint.
-
Isn't Sharp already back and playing though? Sure I saw him on the teamsheet the other day. Or are you off to break his legs for turning us down in the first place???

New range of kids books out starring ex-Saints players: 1st edition - "Where's Shipperley?"

Would be signing a guy with reasonable Prem pedigree if this came off. If we're still around the top 2 or 3 in Jan, I think we'll be a far more attractive proposition than we were in the summer.

Better get up quick if we want to be in the PL

There has also often been talk of a European Super League, which would've seen Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea etc disappear off to play games against the likes of Real Madrid, Barca, the Milan clubs & Bayern Munich on a permanent basis rather than in the poor replacement for the old European Cup, the Champions League but this has never materialised (I actually reckon this would be a benefit to the rest of the League's teams as it would make for more open competition in our top division!). Every now and again another bright idea comes to the fore but never actually comes to anything (the 39th Premier League game being another) and I'd imagine this will soon been filed alongside them. In fact the only really radical idea which has ever come into being in this country, is the Premier League itself, IMO. This has probably come from clubs like Blackburn who look like relegation fodder every year and would like to hold onto the cash without any stress caused by (yet) another relegation battle. -
Hahahahaha! Hope he works the same magic on Poopey as he did on the last P..mouth he managed!!

Could Rickie play for England?
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Pretty much. Do you recall Ireland and Wales fighting over him to represent them and he eventually chose the Irish? You've made my mind up; if Mickey Evans played international football, Rickie Lambert certainly can!! -
Could Rickie play for England?
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
I guess the question I should've posed was could Rickie play international football because the thing about playing for Ireland or anyone else can ring true. If Rickie had a gran who was Northern Irish, say, then would he be effective for them at international level. Iain Dowie was and to my mind Rickie is at least his equal. -
Entirely a hypothetical musing but watching Mackail-Smith do a decent enough job for the Scots tonight made me wonder whether Rickie could ever step up to international football level? Not by any stretch of the imagination saying he should be picked ahead of Rooney, Bent, Sturridge, Defoe or whoever but just a simple thought: could he cut it for England if there was a striker shortage and he was picked? I definitely believe he'll outscore Mackail-Smith in the Championship this year but could he do a job for an international side as CMS is clearly doing?

This. Unfortunately.

Sensational news from the trial - Judge: "The jury has found you guilty Mr Barnard but, in view of your employment by such a fine football club, I hereby sentence you to go and score many goals against those filthy Skate b*stards in December. Next!"

What's the latest with Barnard?
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache replied to Ricky Redstripe's topic in The Saints
Not before 2? Judge having a lie-in? -
Lol. Just like I like to remember Howells the goalie.
-
Interesting name to 'pull of the hat' at random. Q for the OP: is this someone we've actually been interested in or just a punt that he's an emerging talent that could be of interest to us?
-
Lol. Which is unfortunate because I'm in a room full of people who now think I'm a nut.
-
Yes, I'd be gutted to have 2 Rickie Lambert's up front...
