Agree, his form has made him a must sign for us fans. What concerns me is that I seem to recall reading that the deal for Liam Fontaine was left 'open' should he prove his fitness by January and maybe the reason Hooiveld was only signed until January was because we're planning to go back for Fontaine. I seriously hope not because I can't see what more Fontaine can offer us which Hooiveld cannot.

I'd be gutted if that was us being used in that way. I guess acceptance of the scheme will boil down to whether the fans tolerate these turnstile pros coming in and going out so frequently in exchange for (hoped for) progress up the League. Be interesting to see what their existing playing staff think. Sorry [insert name] we're not picking you for 3 months whilst we showcase [insert name] to make a profit. How would that affect morale? If Barnard is not going to be fit or available then we need other striking options - it's as plain as the twitch on Harry Redknapp's face. Yes, I know we've scored in every game but I just feel with extra striking options around, it could've been even better. Maybe I've become spoilt with the amazing start and I'm unrealistic in wanting even more but I genuinely believe it the extra firepower could really move us away from some of the other promotion contenders. As for De Ridder; would love to see him get a good run of starts. Could be the making of him as a Saint.
