  1. Stayed at home and played with my kids. Far more fun than watching Rupert's perverse experiment (no. 20564) with our club.
  2. Fantastic! I really believe we will be taken over tomorrow. I also believe the story about the aliens too. Apparently we are going to initiate a revolutionary new link-up with the aliens in the hope they can get us back to the Premier League on the cheap.
  3. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/3752627.Poortvliet_targets_six_wins_from_next_ten_games/ Anyone really believe we can do this? Don't get me wrong, I'd love us to win at least 6 of the next 10 but our inconsistent start doesn't give me much hope that we will!
  4. The question is: would the re-initiation of our revolutionary approach a la SCW work in tandem with the revolutionary Dutch total football philosophy we currently find ourselves implementing? Does joining 2 revolutionary concepts together give us twice the revolutionary impact or would they cancel each other out?
  5. They're not allowed the time off school.
  6. Good luck to the fella; all the reports seem to point towards a talented player who hasn't yet made his mark somewhere. Let's hope it happens for him here!
  7. Anyone got any further news on the life of Brian?
  8. Another excellent result. Hopefully this will build some confidence and we can string a consistent run of results. Well done Jan and the lads (particularly the new fella, Robertson!).
  9. So far, Jordan Robertson is proving to be the finest no. 38 we've ever had!
  10. Just off to William Hills now. Gotta be worth a punt!
  11. Interesting line up! Just hope it works.
  12. Does he have a broken metatarsal? I thought that was what we looked for in players?
  13. Paul Williams helped steady our defence in Strach's first season, filling the void Dean Richards left, until being displaced by a certain Swedish centre half.
  14. Kevin Richardson was a calming influence when he first arrived and quietly got on with things whilst Palmer, Davies, Hirst, Le Tiss & Egil got the plaudits in Dave Jones' first season with us.
  15. A complete steal - would be excellent to bring back one of our academy boys. Now, if we can just find the money to bring back Gareth, Theo and Dexter too...
  16. Fax machine is broken and we could only afford to repair it if funds had come in from Rudi joining Ipswich.
  17. The report says he's out of contract at the end of the season. I guess that reduces the fee but I can't believe it'll be that nominal!
  18. Darn - it was a nice thought whilst it lasted!
  19. In the NOTW match report of the Barnsley game, they reported that he was left out and is now expected to make an initial loan move somewhere before a permanent move, for a nominal fee, in January. Come on Rupey - he's a local lad who came through our youth system - any chance of using what minimal reserves we have left to bring him home???
  20. A good, much needed win even if, reading the thoughts of those who were there, the performance was a little sketchy. Let's hope it restores a little confidence and provides us with a platform to build on. Good to hear that McG had another tantrum. It wouldn't be a proper Saints game at the moment if he didn't spit his dummy out at some point. Just a shame that Stern's done his hamstring as I'd far rather see him and Pekhart up front, now we're apparently playing with 2 strikers (out of interest - can you have a formation if you're playing total football?)!
  21. TBH, I can appreciate that he's being played out of position and this may affect his performance. For me, it's his attitude that concerns me; the on-pitch tantrums on Saturday were disgraceful - whatever happened to doing a job for the team??
  22. Maybe it'll be "Stern off the mark!", which will detail Stern's relief at getting his first goal of the season with a footnote that Saints lost 3-1 at Rotherham.
  23. If this type of performance goes on much longer, the players could take part in a 'spot the fan' competition.
  24. We let Rotherham beat us to save money on expensive weekday trips and late night returns. Those overtime rates are a killer!
  25. I doubt it. It's looking a great idea to sign two injured players when parts of the rest of the team needed strengthening.
