Yes he was completely anonymous when he came on tonight, but its not an easy game with 10 men to come into (unless you're super ShLong). Seem to recall him scoring a great goal at Goodison which if it wasnt was some poor defending/ goalkeeping probably would have earned us a point. Also scored an excellent goal to get us the three points against Villa. Pretty sure if he 'wasnt PL quality' or 'out of his depth' we wouldnt have seen those moments. People need to remember that hes only 5 months into his first PL season, and yes while Broja being the same has outperformed him, he has still played his part and shown that he can get us goals when it matters. Not really. A CB is a CB. We need a genuine no10, tadic type who plays between the lines. We've been crying out for a player like that since Tadic left. The majority of the players you've listed do not fit that mould. They're wingers or CMs who've been shoehorned into that no10 role, most unsuccessfully

Maybe so, but whilst we've got Salisu, Bednarek, Stephens, Lyanco and Simeu we'll not be signing any CBs. Out of that lot Bednarek and Stephens would be the most likely to move on in the summer but cant even see that at the moment. Cant see us signing a GK either now we've extended Caballero as it will be difficult to move either Forster or McCarthy on in this window. If we were to make one signing it has to be a no10

Not expecting much transfer action this month despite the takeover. We may have an interest in a GK and a no10 but the january window is always a difficult one - clubs reluctant to let players leave without a suitable replacement and all these moving parts often dont get resolved within a month. Should be an interesting summer though

We definitely want this on. Salisu and KWP will be missed, but if we were offered that in exchange for Wilson and ASM both being ruled out then we would take it all day. Would bring Stephens in for Salisu as hes used to playing alongside Bednarek (not sure Lyanco and Bednarek have played together as a two) and hopefully TIno is fit (with Perraud at LB)

A great battling performance. The team has shown in the last two games a level of resilience we havent seen for a long, long while. To hang on with 10 men for 55 mins against an in form Spurs team and to get a winner against WHU after twice losing the lead is impressive. Said it a few games ago that we would struggle if our midfield/defence didnt start chipping in with some goals (like they did last year), and they've delivered. Thats three from JWP, and one each from Ely and Bednarek. JWP has been excellent with his goals/assists of late. Leading by example, yet some have demanded that he be stripped of captaincy.
