  1. Theres also a big chance he'll find his level in the Swiss league and we'll not hear of him again
  2. Hopefully for a decent fee. More money in the coffers for strengthening the team. Maybe we are in the market for a CM after all
  3. Ever since the Bournemouth away/League Cup final white/red. Just need to keep it simple and Hummel seem to recognise that
  4. Looks promising. Wouldnt have thought that we would have already shipped out Hoedt, Lemina and Gunn permanently by mid July. Helps free up some much needed funds. Long and Valery next please.
  5. Both would be way beyond our wage structure (Giroud will get offers from top CL clubs so not a chance we'll be in the mix). Still think Ings will be here until next season unless we get an offer of around £25m which I cant see. If we can pick up Armstrong now and he has a season alternating with Ings/Adams it would be great. We then would have Jan and next summer windows to identify another striking option. If we let Ings leave now we honestly need two strikers this window to make up for the shortfall. There is a big risk neither hit the ground running and could be the difference between relegation and survival.
  6. Wouldnt say hes got the injuries completely under control, missed quite alot of games last season. Yes no serious injuries like before, but niggly ones which all add up. We also had to be very cautious with him and he only played 60-65 minutes for alot of games
  7. Lemina leaving at cut price is inevitable. Hes a year left and has hardly been pulling up trees with his performances the last few years. We paid £15m for him four years ago so would be happy recouping a third of that tbh. It has been confirmed by Dan Sheldon that we do have interest in Armstrong, just looking some leeway on the price. Inevitable bargaining from both sides as he has a short contract to run. If we manage to sign Perraud, Williams, Armstrong and a winger, while keeping the likes of Ings and Vesty it will be a great window. Add Delaney in there and it'll be a superb window. Not to mention we're making good ground on clearing some of the deadwood from the squad.
  8. Junior Firpo off to Leeds for €15m it seems. All very odd when it was reported that they were no longer interested in Perraud due to the price
  9. Definitely agree that another CM should be on our radar, and there might be something in it given the links we've had (Delaney, Maitland Niles, Svanberg to name a few). Can understand the occasional rumour being nonsense but theres been a few. The only thing is that its likely way down the club priorities after a starting LB, LB and RB cover, CF
  10. Maehle looking quality. Why did we not sign him 🤷🏽‍♂️
  11. Yes they all get basic fitness programmes for maintainence purposes, but some players take it upon themselves to work with qualified fitness coaches to push themselves further
  12. Good to hear. Also seen that Salisu has been putting extra fitness work in too
  13. Agree with everything you've said, except that. Durinh the 16/17 run in when they became our CB pairing, Yoshi was always the more solid imo
  14. Agree. Dont get the clamour around Phillips. Hes had a few good games, but also looked clumsy at times. Stephens in a Liverpool shirt came to mind. Capable of the rare blinder of a performance, but most games will throw a mistake or two in there
  15. The state of Bednarek for that last Sweden goal 🤦🏽‍♂️
  16. They're paying close to 10 million up front for him and a four year deal. We picked up Walcott on a free transfer and reduced wages over a two year deal. Its simple mathematics, maybe you need a new abacus
  17. If your granny had balls she'd be your grandad
  18. We were previously interested, but unfortunately it seems we opted for the cheap Walcott option as he will have a better influence on the young players 🤦🏽‍♂️. That being said, theres no guarantee this kid will adapt well to the PL, could be another Elyounoussi
  19. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/olivier-ntchams-marseille-nightmare-continues-23765524 No thanks. Hes like a scottish Lemina. Plenty of talent but stinking attitude. So good hes landed a huge move to.....AEK Athens. His value has plummeted but its not worth the pain. Kent is very good, so is David Turnbull at Celtic
  20. Think that article is a bit out of date. Looking like Perraud is done and theres no chance we're bringing in Firpo at LB aswell. We need the money for other positions. Think Crook got one right for once, Firpo was our second choice option if we didnt get Perraud done.
  21. Great signing for Leicester. Was hoping we would make a move for him, not that we would have been an realiatic option with the other teams interested. They now have Vardy, Iheancho, Daka and Perez - with the likes of Maddison, Tielemans and Barnes feeding them. Theres bound to be another player we could steal from RB Salzburg. They bring through some great talent
  22. How do you work that out? The same fixtures last season we won 3, drew 1 and lost 3. Plus our record against promoted sides has been decent in recent years.
  23. A very expensive south american. It certainly hasnt worked for us in the past. They will almost certainly be moving on Bissouma, and possibly also Lamptey
  24. Last two seasons at Blackburn, Armstrong has 46 goals in 91 games - just over 0.50 goals per game Che Adams had 31 goals in 81 games in his last two seasons at Brum - 0.38 goals per game Obviously better goals output for Armstrong and surprisingly he also has more assists in the same period (12 compared to Adams 7). Although Che has improved considerably in his hold up/support play since stepping up to the PL. If we can talk Blackburn down from their 15 million asking price to something around 10-12 million, it would be a steal. Considering we paid around 15 million for Che
  25. Outside of our obvious need for two LBs and another RB, signing another striking option would be next on the list imo. Even if Ings stays for another year, he will get the inevitable niggling injuries which will take him out for 8-10 games a season. That leaves with just Adams as our only other striker who we could rely on for goals (although hes better for his support/hold up play). Not convinced with either Walcott or Redmond playing up top and I'm afraid that Long, N'Lundulu and Obafemi just arent good enough options for the PL at present (the latter two could do with a season loan to a Championship club). From what I've seen of Armstrong, he looks to be of the Ings mould. Smart movement, good finisher and can create something out of nothing. He'll also be brimming with confidence with the season hes had. Also quite frankly we need to start exploring replacement options for Ings because if he doesnt go this summer, or January, he will definitely be gone next summer. Why not bring somebody in this window, at least we'll have 6-12 months to see if they can cut it before Ings does move on
