It's the policy of bringing them in (on top of the promising lads we have) which is wrong, not the use of the youngsters. Of our under-23 players, only THB is good enough to help get promotion in this league.

I must admit, the casual nature of Brooks' general play is absolutely infuriating. I don't know if it's the languid brand of football or whether he couldn't give a fuck, but I think I'd much rather try and play Fraser into form for the last two (for the reasons you say).

He says on Solent that we don't have anyone who can do what Fatawu did tonight or what Summerville did yesterday. He says he's asked for something like that from the players. The way we play doesn't lend itself to that, because we move the ball forward so slowly and so without purpose that 20/23 sides will have two banks of four in front of the winger. He's a walking oxymoron. Does he fully understand what he's trying to do with this system? 20/23 teams are more than happy to sit off, let us have the ball and take their chances on the break. A point home or away against us is like fucking Christmas to them, and some have even managed to take more off us. Leeds and Leicester are in the top two because they actually use their quality relentlessly. They play on the front foot and put the other teams under, because they know they are better. It's just baffling that we're trying to play like a plucky underdog like he's still at MK Dons or Swansea. We'll be there soon enough if he sticks around.

Our attacking play is all wrong and has been for weeks. There's no overlaps, it's all concentrated in the middle and it's far too slow. KWP is only coming inside and Bree isn't coming forward at all, makes us far too predictable.

Great performance. How Russell can change that back four (for Cardiff at least, another side we should dominate) I don't know. Adams, Armstrong, Aribo, KWP, THB and Bednarek excellent. Whatever the question, McCarthy isn't the answer. I feel sorry for Baz, but we've got another chance to get the RIGHT keeper in this summer by the sounds of it. Jury's out for me with Brooks. Has he done enough as a starter? Suppose it would help for Edozie/Fraser to actually do something from the bench to challenge him. Win on Saturday, and they've well and truly got me roped back in. PS Something I thought was funny. Sulemana and Edozie get sent down the line for their warmup. They spend five minutes talking to each other and watching the game by the corner flag, doing exactly zero activity before sprinting back to the bench to get dressed. Must be fucking annoying for the poor pricks sat in the front row. Don't know how common that is, and whether that's something that is picked up by the staff. Probably explains why they can't get a sniff of the pitch if they're putting in similar effort in training.
