  1. Watching Armstrong in CM would violate the Geneva Convention.
  2. If he won't, I will
  3. Yeah he signed on deadline day, Wolves away was the first match after that.
  4. He appeared in 15 of the first 17 Premier League matches after signing - but close one!
  5. Tino came from City? That's news to me. I'm arguing in favour of more deals like Tino by looking outside of City. I know this is almost a moot point and easy to say with hindsight. But would you be happy with spending almost £30m on Bazunu, Larios and Edozie - if Lavia never existed? If the 25% hit rate decreases (even less if you include Gunn), then it's going to look ugly for the club accounts.
  6. Yeah we could go around in circles all night, but I guess time will tell. As long as we aren't spunking £10m a pop on City kids and scrimping on anything else, that's fine. It's my opinion that there is better value elsewhere in England and certainly in Europe.
  7. The four we signed last season cost £35m all in. We could get that back for Lavia - but he's gonna go on to be world class. How many more of those have they got in their ranks?
  8. We'd be lucky to break even on the four City signings by selling Lavia this summer, and he's clearly a potentially world-class player. That isn't going to happen every window. The other three are Bazunu, Larios and Edozie - how have they been "much better" than some of our other signings? I just don't want us to effectively become a feeder club for City. It doesn't tickle my pickle. If Wilcox and our network is so good, why can't he take the model of signing untried youngsters and apply it nationwide/Europe-wide? There is something strange going on (not to go all MLT on you all).
  9. The fees involved and the sheer volume of signings is off, imo
  10. Our relationship with Man City is dodgy, weird and worrying. It's not something I "signed up for" as a football fan tbh.
  11. Crazy money for a very average striker
  12. Saints Extra is an aggregator. The source is at the end of the tweet, tagged (Daily Mail).
  13. Seriously odd that our only links so far this summer have been with Swansea or Man City players.
  14. He's finished in the top two leagues IMO. He was when we let him go.
  15. I meant for other teams looking at him for around £30-40m
  16. Agreed, we can hold out for more if WHU are the team to come in though. I'm starting to lean with Fareham's view - there's much better value abroad for that kind of money.
  17. We could be in for a decent pay day if West Ham do indeed come in for JWP. £40-45m, that'll do nicely.
  18. In fairness, that's not what the tweet says. But agreed on the love in / brutal killing side of things
  19. Agree to disagree I guess, I suppose it is a strange choice of opponent. But I can't say I get that wound up about what a few (and I mean literally a few in Bournemouth's case) numpties sing. We got that at most grounds last season anyway.
  20. Crying about it being embarrassing is giving ammo to Bournemouth fans, you're right. If they truly aren't our rivals, then it shouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure what they've got to brag about anyway, it's not like we're going to be lording our superior status over Reading when we go up there.
  21. Who honestly cares? Even if the Harlem Globetrotters came to town, it'd still be shit to watch as all pre-season friendlies are. Why is it a problem if we're playing Bournemouth?
  22. Around £45m and a 20-25% sell-on clause - that would be fair enough. We've dug this hole for ourselves by getting relegated - and City would've had him back for £32m next season with presumably no sell-on clause anyway.
  23. Is it not a bit weird that we've had zero movement so far? Less than two weeks until pre-season starts, is anyone going to be there?
