  1. Doesn't fit the agenda. Sad.
  2. What a sexist thing to say, or assume another's attitudes through a distorted prism. I, for example, thought most of the games were poor from a football perspective but because England were involved a better watch (for example) than the recent England men's games, now they were bad! It's more some of the media response which has continued the hyperbole driven coverage all football increasingly gets these days. Rather than claim Kelly (my player of the tournament btw for her crossing ability alone) is better than Beckham, just state what is true. She's a bloody good footballer, no need to turn it into a gender driven competition. That to me feels more condescending than flattering. I may be wrong or (almost certainly) not explaining myself well but jumping to instant judgement probably doesn't help.
  3. Is Angus Gunn still available?
  4. Ok, I'll say it. After a day of hearing how the England team are superwomen, popping off to sort the middle east out and making lepers whole again through a touch of their hand . . . . . It was a shit game. The levels of skill variable and apart from the 3-4 top teams rather poor through the tournament I'm pleased England won and hope it further raises the profile of the woman's game. But I wish they'd stop trying to ape the worst aspects of the men's game. Confabulating the history and achievements of the men and women's game is pathetic and pointless. So well done but some perspective please. Bank holiday? FFS, we should've got one of them for getting 12points.
  5. Fabrice, is that you.
  6. It was something like AI might dish up if you asked for one. For some reason it reminded me of - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lb0KC7BEw4Y For the somewhat random quality.
  7. Who was the old Solent commentator with a masters degree in stating the bloody obvious. Used to drive my Saints anxiety to mega levels with a throwaway "the last thing Saints want to do now" in the 87th min.
  8. Wife says you can come and have a gander of ours. But she'd appreciate a photo first.
  9. First Bazunu clean sheet ?
  10. It may be a while before they do. I didn't realise just how weirdly biased the Scots PL and other competitions are towards the old firm. - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/crk6r7jk3lxo If Russ manages to finish 3rd in anything up there he really does deserve a medal. Laughing but aware this is where the English game is likely to go in future sadly.
  11. The Rangers forums remain hilariously deluded about this however. Silly, uncompetitive league imo. Russ will fit right in.
  12. I use Windscribe vpn to connect to streaming sites or if I wish to fake my location. It was working fine when I tested it this morning.
  13. Best friend of 42yrs is a Pompey fan. Never a problem as we've always respected (if frequently ridiculed) each others passion for our club. Took me to Fratton once, disappeared when he realised I'd left my Saints badge on my leather jacket. Lucky I did notice before the delightful locals were able to. He has enjoyed the St Mary's on many occasions, last time got more annoyed than myself about 'spam's cheating which was quite funny. His hatred of Burnley's fans originated over their behaviour when Fraser buggered his knee in 2015, not helped by their attitude towards women evident in the pubs before and after the game. Such modern gents. He hates the drunken twat with bells, I'm not a great fan of 'the gun' song as it shows lack of imagination imo. We continue to take great pleasure in each other team's problems, but don't personalise it. After all I like to know he's just a phone call away when the Skates cock up.
  14. Yep, couldn't even afford the real Patrick Stewart to "Make it so"
  15. Best moment for me was the 12th point, something I'll share with the grandkiddies in years to come. I loved the 12pt spoof bus parade and p*sstake video of City's poor play. However I fear we may've been trumped by a real bus parade - https://x.com/FBAwayDays/status/1927726167240405090?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1927726167240405090|twgr^|twcon^s1_&ref_url=
  16. Got to pity the guy if he's going to re-watch all our games this season. A veritable feast of football.
  17. City were poor. On the flaky stream I was watching they kept mentioning City beat us 1-0 before going on an unexpected poor run this season. Well if they'd watched that game it would've been obvious how awful City played, it's just we are a truly terrible team at the mo'. This game we got a smidgeon more luck and put a tad more effort in. Also when did defending get excluded from being a footy skill. For some years now derogatory comments are thrown at any team that sets themselves up to do so. We've had occasional 'park the bus' games at St Marys where the opposition set out to fustrate in previous seasons. It's ruddy boring but hey, a valid tactic esp' if the opposition have vastly superior resources.
  18. Great post match interview, the bloke cares! Worth a mention that the WHU forum (kumb) consider us the best fans to visit the black hole known as the london stadium.
  19. I've reached the stage where whoever's the gurning "player" they put by the team list I immediatly want to smack them in the gob with a wet fish. The magic of matchday.
  20. Thanks for a reminder of times when both players and fans would occassionally smile. It by no means was all wonderful, but looking forward to footy games was actually a thing.
  21. Well as pointed out if you consider the BBC not a main TV channel, or Sky for that matter you might miss the highlights. But then maybe it's not on everyone's titwobbleface feed. Also it was pointed out this morning on radio 4 (again, one of those fringe stations requiring more than goldfish style attention) by arrogantly underestimating or undervaluing the competition the big 5/6/7 are actually making it a bit more interesting. Plymouth will have a little cheer this morning anyway, in a otherwise horrible season for them. Better than watching round 6 of a bizzare champions league first stage preliminary game between two teams mostly focussed on not losing anyway. Saints were awful with the game another hard watch for our fans but I for one would not put staying in an increasingly bias EPL above a decent FA cup run anymore. Others with bigger brains than this bear will disagree of course.
  22. Between 73000 - 148000 a year according to the BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cwy1wm0l92ro
  23. I loved this comment - "He was brilliant. No idea how he wasn't getting more game time at Saints with how terrible they've been. Although Martin probably wasn't used to seeing defenders pass forward and run with the ball "
