  1. But not according to most of their 'fans' on fighting cock. Never good enough to be a spurs player apparently.
  2. Brilliant thread! Many great memories. Thanks to my bruv in law to be, I helped out in the players bar after matches a couple of times. I remember Dave Watson had two of Status Quo as guests there after one game, and Golacs wife was erm, a unit. Highlight was getting Kev K a lager, only a half you understand. Anyone remember the old parking guy at the Dell, must've been the most miserable man in the world bless him.
  3. I thought the winner of the EFL cup qualifies for the play-off round of the 2022–23 UEFA Europa Conference League. According to Wikipedia anyway.
  4. You silly sausages, Everton fans are convinced their superb recruitment team will sell DCL for 70m and get Broja for 30m in the summer. They are looking forward to running their eyes over him in a few days time.
  5. Silly thing is with 5 mins left to play Pogba and the utd brains trust spent 3 mins acting like schoolkids to the ref. I remember the days you'd have to take the ball to the corner flag to use up time. These numpties did it for us, with the ref laughing at them.
  6. If you attended a party with Boris present, are a Russian who's donated £100,000 to the Conservatives or shagged his missus to Abba songs you're fine.
  7. Digne going has indeed given them a little wriggle room. But unless Broja is actually passionately in love with Lampard, and wants his babies, I can't see anyway he'd even think about going there. It's a footballer's graveyard at present, with a reputation of wrecking the progress of young players while providing retirement options for others. Their fanbase remains convinced they only have to show a little leg (=money) and he'll walk to Goodison to sign of course. They also really don't seem to understand how a buy-back works, idiots.
  8. Well he bought me a pint once, made his charmless chat more bearable tbf.
  9. 5k a week and 30m a goal surely.
  10. I've always found their fans to be jolly rude and terribly northern when visiting our fair city. My dislike for Everton has waned since the "Warchest" days, their fans now realise how badly they've p*ssed money away on overpaid underperformers. Also WHU also don't annoy so much anymore, they are at least honest about their owners and the awful stadium con. Otherwise 'Pool, MU, Chelsea and Spuds can always bring a smile to my face when they lose. But yes, Newcastle could turn that smile into a throaty laugh if they take a deserved dip into the Champ'.
  11. The badge is a bit um, average. Call me old fashioned but I like a bit of red and white in my Saints stuff.
  12. Have you really forgotten Pellegrino, it's what gets me through the 9-0 flashbacks. I'll stick with RH if he sticks with us.
  13. Like waiting for VAR this . . .
  14. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/gossip Looks like Eddie is in waiting according to the BBC.
  15. Do you get 'dear john' letters and an unnatural interest in your bottom parts from the old lags ? I'll write a letter home for you, for a small consideration of course.
  16. Absolutely, those wanting repeated games between the self apponted top 6 should be ashamed. The drama and excitement of this game was superb.
  17. I'll miss the "what we don't want to do now Adam, is let in a goal" . A football Nostradamus.
  18. 3-1 to Saints, obvs. I was impressed by the Wolves forum already having 4 pages up on this game. However it's a wonderful tale of their loyalty point system which really tugs at the old heartstrings. https://www.molineuxmix.co.uk/forum/index.php?threads/southampton-away.575439/page-4 So no spoilers.
  19. 3-1 Saints, easy.
  20. I miss replays, though i understand the season is just too congested/a slave to tv for them to happen these days. Always was a bit of hope when you got drawn away that we could get them back at ours.
  21. Good result and performance. I await the fustration of being told by experts 'city had an off day' and how tired they all are after euro matches poor loves. Special 👍 to Elyounoussi, not a world beater as such maybe but putting a real shift in (never thought I'd say that) and looks more a Prem' player with each game.
  22. Always been poorly managed. 2 seasons ago I could not buy a ticket for either of the empty seats either side of me as they left 'orphans'. A ruddy joke as one was on the aisle, but computer says so tough. Missed out on a few purchases from me, I suspect many more from others trying to buy the ruddy things. This is likely to be my last season ticket at St Marys, certainly making me feel this is the right decision.
  23. Regardless of it being 'a minority' the only action which will change behaviour is points deductions or banning from competition. I'm quite happy for England to be judged as well. I remember the 70s and 80s. It was only when our fans were effectively banned abroad, and a certain clubs thuggish behaviour resulted in a euro competition ban, that it resulted in huge efforts by the F.A. and Leagues to sort the hooligan problem. I suspect you'd get a bigger fine for removing a shirt and revealing a condom advert on your vest than the Hungarian F.A. will get.
  24. Still don't rate GS highly (my JWP sulk continues) but he summed up last nights sillyness quite well. "The world is modernising and although some people are stuck in their ways of thinking and their prejudices, they're going to be the dinosaurs in the end because the world is changing."
  25. Well they certainly seem to have trouble finding their mouths. Surprising when you see how open and shouty they are.
