Are we allowed funky pitch designs again now?
steve green replied to Stripey McStripe Shirt's topic in The Saints
We could have a design with arrows pointing the way towards goal. -
Re VPN, I've used Windscribe VPN ( https://windscribe.com/ )which works well. You can configure locations, use and price to suit your needs. I pay around 5 pounds a month.

Craziest thing you did or wore at a football match?
steve green replied to Pilchards's topic in The Saints
22nd Jan 1966 at Boothferry Park, Hull. F.A Cup. My Mum's relatives all came from Hull so up we went, I was 8yrs old and given no choice about wearing a red/white Dalek suit - https://zapwowhq.files.wordpress.com/2018/09/a7.jpg I was also coached to recite SAINTS WILL EXTERMINATE HULL CITY loudly every few seconds. We of course promptly lost and were then chased through the backstreets by Hull fans. My dad said it took some time to shut me up and avoid us all being battered. I couldn't see a pigging thing through the slots. -
5 kids eh? Now we know where his energies went. Seriously though good luck to him, nice farewell comment.

Maintaining that on pitch presence then.

I think we may've been relegated for reasons other than Everton's ability to waste money. We were rubbish, appointed managers out of their depth, and bought players unsuited for the PL.
-
Christ, imagine us, Everton and Leicester going down. Thats some Championship next season.

At "park level" footy it's always been pretty bad. My Dad had to retire early from playing so became a ref to stay involved. He took massive amounts of abuse & threats, on one occasion being chased out of the changing room half dressed. We used to live off Mansel Park so I'd saunter over on Sundays to watch a game or three, often involving my Dad reffing. Though about 300yds away from our home he'd always drive there so angry players and chums wouldn't twig where he lived. He was a shit ref though, bless 'im.

That made oi laff.

I'm Spartacus !

I bet you'd charge extra for them though Tella is looking better at champ' level, though I think we sometimes forget how poor some defences in that league can be. For me it's his overall attitude that's the most obvious change, he looks interested and very up for it. If that attitude follows him back to St Marys we'd be fools not to utilise him, we are hardly rich in attacking options. Otherwise get a few £ and move on.

Feels like a check flashscore every few mins until we go 3-0 down sort of day. Distraction activities are advised.

And running in circles until he disapears up his own bottom.

They've put a big price sticker on his bum?

What we don't want to do now Adam, is let a goal in.

As it will now be known in this household, ta Wurzel.

Some of the best boos I've heard at a footy match. Even if half of us didn't remember why

Everton fans convinced 21m and he's theirs. Not the most grounded group of chaps tbh.

Kick-ins instead of throw-ins: a potential rule change!
steve green replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
I remember watching a game or two at Bognor in the 90s where they tried it for a season. Bloody pointless, slowed down the play and you could see the poor player's having a panic attack while struggling with the decision to 'kick or throw'. -
One of my most cherished moments from those days, Nigel had the grace to look a little embarressed. My other fond memory of Kelvin was him coming on during the game against Burnley (2015) when Fraser got crocked. Promptly made a couple of great saves to ensure we got the points to maintain our CL challenge. Heady days. Lets not get all Spursy, just wish the bloke well.

After the NHS community team I worked for were transfered to another NHS Trust I was asked by the new managers, as I was the senior nurse, to present and explain the new setup to the other staff. Half way through the presentation I noticed my role no longer existed, the buggers. As to goalkeepers being top coaches I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the top candidate imo -

That's seeded my dream sequence for tonight. I'll let you know how it goes.
