  1. Papa after scoring our 1st goal tonight...
  2. My missus loves it too. I would watch it if I thought anyone could actually sing - but I got home from the Gillingham game on saturday (had a couple of sherberts afterwards) and I was just in time to see the Irish bloke review the 'groups'. Jeeeeeez - what a crock of sh1te! Awful - totally awful. And the rest of the show was full of talentless wannabe's by the sound of it coming from my living room. The strictly-bollicky-dancing crap is banned in my house thank f*@k...
  3. ITV (X-Factor) and the BBC (Strictly Come Dancing) don't want to upset their viewing millions or their saturday night live telly schedules I reckon. Both awful programmes IMHO - and I'd rather one of them did show the footy - but you know how all the 'Angry of Leeds' or 'Disgusted of Bristol' codgers would write in in their thousands should either of them suddenly decide to change things & show the footbal match.
  4. Interesting to see Hairy Redcrack is back in the news - for all the wrong reasons of course. Rumour has it it's all to do with the Amdy Faye transfer: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1217657/Harry-Redknapp-baffles-bookies-punters-pile-Spurs-boss-leave-White-Hart-Lane.html
  5. I'd give up if I were you DD. A handful of posters on this thread have already proved they know sweet f*ck-all about life on a sub & would be best suited to sticking with the little plastic toy one they have in the bathtub each night...
  6. There's a "clown" spaceman that blasted off yesterday on a Russian Soyuz spacecraft. ???
  7. Funny you should say that. Here's a quote from Pardew (OS) as recent as Monday - regarding Lambert: "We've worked hard on Rickie because we felt that he needed some more conditioning. He's been trying to do that whilst playing games so it has taken a little bit away from him, but we think that we're going to see the benefits of that this week particularly with two home games. He's an honest player and technically better than I thought he was going to be..." ???
  8. I think ref's have taken a leaf out of the recent Manchester derby & decided to do what the ref in that game did, ie: add 30 secs for a sub, goal celebrations, etc. Maybe they've all had a memo from the FA? You rarely saw more than 3 mins added before - on the odd occasion 4. The Carlisle fans booed at the end of the game last saturday because of all the added time the ref added-on - and Saints scoring at the death. Last night was the same - 5 added mins which DID make a difference to the outcome. I expect to see 5 mins being pretty much the norm from now on.
  9. According to the OS - Kayne won't be fit until October/November. Taking the worst scenario - he should (that's should) be available sometime early/mid November.
  10. I thought we had a 5-year plan - not a 5 minute one?!?!
  11. One bright point: at least we can score from open play after all!
  12. Oh well - sh*t happens. Lost a cracking game to a cracking goal by all accounts. Let's look forward to Gillingham. What more can you do?
  13. It doesn't bear thinking about! I have visions of female members of the crew packing "used" towels into a cannister - to be fired from a torpedo tube underwater... Imagine the skipper raising the periscope whilst submerged...only to see a used jam rag caught dangling over the optics... "NUMBER 1 - GET THAT BLOODY THING OFF MY SUBMARINE THIS INSTANT!" "Er - aye aye Sir"... Eeeewwww!!!
  14. I share your concerns TDD. I mean...who's gonna bear the brunt of moody, irrational, bad-tempered behaviour once a month in a very confined space? You have my sympathy...
  15. I think it's worth mentioning at this point that the season did only start last month lads - and therefore there's a long, long way to go. Just about every other side in this division had a 'settled' pre-season & a manager who'd been there for quite some time...unlike us of course & our well-documented off-the-pitch problems. It's still very early days for everything to click/fall into place - so I (for one) will take a good long look at Pardew/the team/how we've done come the end of January - by which time this squad & how it performs will be completely Alan Pardew's doing. And I still think that - considering everything we've been through - finishing mid-table or just above would be a very acceptable outcome this season.
