They were evidently appalled at what happened, but they had a view that the UK press/media were painting Kirk as a bit of a Martyr who said some controversial things. They said that the reality was that he was a deeply and openly a disgustingly unpleasant person, with many on the right horrified by many of the things he would say.

Celebrity shows like this are usually worse.. Little jeopardy, wanting screen time and many know each other. However, this instalment is helped (IMO) that nearly all on the show are known (by me at least). It wont stand up to the normal variant of the show, but looks like it will be good anyway.

There is a range of reasons why the US was seen as the great satan by him and his nutters.
