  1. if it was imminent, you would assume he would be on the plane tomorrow, with picture of him signing the fake contract tues/weds and staying down for training and the game on Sat....
  2. how much did Downs cost? Surely not 'big bucks' for this league If so, he is our new striker and that will be that
  3. Will Still post match comments; Was a great game, Premier League energy about it If you can't win, you have to not lose, and we did that the goal we conceded is frustrating as well as their big chances, all came form our mistakes But that is a positive also, we can rub that out of the game it was important to get back into it first half performance was positive and encouraging we ran out of steam a bit in the 2nd half This is a tough place to come, they will be right up there Being hypercritical, we need to rub those mistakes from our game, be more clean and tidy in both boxes especially 3 games this week, we have come a long way A game like that last season, we lose 3 or 4 nil after going a goal down early Good character and grit, with lots of encouraging things to work on Jay has been great, he is a good player, I am not bothered how old he is He is brave, great energy and scored a good goal He can trust himself more, he is that good He is at the beginning of his learning process Josh Quarshie stuck at it, he still young and has not played many games at this level We need to help him on the way, we all know there is competition and if you don't play well... we need to be more demanding Stephens was great, he has had criticism before but he has moved on and really enjoying it We want that, we want players to feel free, and it takes time I dunno about Tyler and Matty, it is a million dollar question They are training and professional. Matty lasted 60 mins but ran out of steam as expected It can change, it is not ideal but they are good players and it is normal others are interested
  4. we'll end up with a couple more of German 2nd division players 😞
  5. when you have a cornetto - the last inch at the bottom of the cone, the bit where the chocolate is.
  6. revert to 4 at the back for me. We do not look particularly good/fluid in, what I think to be an awful formation, of 3/5 defenders. We need to start better than any of the games so far.
  7. a couple of comment here suggesting we are not very good https://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/313819/todays-games?page=307
  8. Who are the 2 or 3 wingers, good enough to start, that we are linked with/signing?
  9. We are now playing plenty of long balls for the striker. Given we have 6 or so defensive players, there is often (not always) a gap between the attack and defence. gar too many times the defence whacks a direct pass for Armstrong to win - and he doesn’t 9/10
  10. They have proven to score goals at this level. They are no good with how Still seemingly wants to play (hoof) seriously, we should have bought Kieffer Moore, perfect for us now.
  11. Fraser and Robinson can do wide man stuff. At least until more players come in. there are other ways to play than hoof the ball to Armstrong
  12. If we don’t get this Armenian. Does that mean we will be subject to this abject 3/5 at the back system? odd that all of a sudden there is no possible other way of playing
  13. they also hit the post, Hirst fluffed a good chance after getting past all our defenders
  14. 3/5 at the back - shite. Fucking shite
  15. FT 1-1 Good result away to one of the big boys. Thought we were pretty ugly and a shithouse team at times Defended set pieces really well, generally, but looked open at the back at times. Fraser good, Robinson good, Downes all over the pitch, Stephens generally good, and Bazunu was spot ton. Quarshie though, feck me. If he (and early showing of Downs) is the standard we are signing, we aint going up - no way. Clearly need proper wide players as 3 at the back remains fucking shite. As for Still's 'flexibility' - yet to see it. Constantly hoofing the ball up to strikers not suited to it is pretty crap. Not buying that there is no possible other way to play the game with what we have at the moment.
  16. Great block from Stephens there
  17. Just hoof it up to the strikers, and it is coming back immediately. Is doing something else completely impossible?
  18. is it? Birmingham look like it so far
  19. Hoof up to Armstrong again, and back it comes Flexibility my arse
  20. Terrible form Quarshie (again) and Stephens. Ref got that right...but fraction of a second in it
  21. He had run out of steam, we were being totally over run in midfield (as per)
  22. we should have signed Keiffer Moore...
  23. When we try to pass the ball out from Bazunu, you can see Ipswich line up to force us to give the ball to Quarshie
