How do you know yet we have downgrades? Bit of a weird statement, other than Ings who would always be hard to replace and didn’t look particularly arsed in the 2nd half of last season. Perraud doesn’t look like a downgrade, and we have seen Lyanco play for us yet. I mean you always like to be negative but this is odd even for you.

Why would Fraser take the risk, his pay off will only be as much as his contract is worth, and he may struggle to get another job. He may be settled in the area with his family, maybe we simply haven’t got the funds this year to shell out who we want. I imagine we may get Sam Johnstone on a free next year, hence why we need Fraser now for back up. I wouldn’t do it, I’d sit here and see what happens. His agent will be doing their job looking for who he can sign for, clubs may have more money in a year post COVID. I don’t think it is as straightforward as you suggest.

Yeah, not sure they would loan him, being in the final year of his contract, although not beyond the realms of possibilities. I’m still hoping something will happen with a keeper, but I’m pretty content with the summer window, our best one for quite a while.

I agree Moussa is better the first two game than he has been previously, but let’s face it, he started from a low bar. I think his decision making is appalling, and needs to vastly improve his end product. If he can do this, maybe we will get something good out of him, I think this is his make or break season with us.

You could likely say these things about any team that reaches a World or European Championship. You are entitled to your opinion, but I dont believe people who disagree are revisionist new wavers, they just see the reality that in the last 2 major tournaments, we have got to a semi and final. I would agree with you if we only did that in something like the nations league or whatever it is called, but not the major ones. Also, so what about Muller missing - that for me is totally irrelevant - all teams miss chances and stuff, England included in that.

Well I don’t think we would be looking without being prepared to sign someone. This has been a pretty good window by all accounts, a good keeper would be insane (Copyright @TWar, who was proved right on that one…)

I posted a video of the Burnley corner the other day where McCarthy was behind his line. Surely that has to be something that doesn’t even need explaining to kids first playing football, that the keeper can’t save shots if they are behind the line.
