  1. Burnley are a reallly shitty team to play against, time wasting after ten minutes and niggly fouls just make them a team I would happily see relegated. The ref was pretty weak in my opinion, bookings for the time wasting antics would have stamped that out sharpish. Overall, a draw was probably a fair result. think they had three shots on target and scored from two. We just didn't work the keeper enough in the end. The miss aside, I thought Redmond was pretty good. Walcott, I was never a basher of him, but after that performance, he has no credit left in the bank. Total waste of a shirt, might as well have been playing with ten. Agree with most on here that we need a solid partner for Salisu, I don't think that any of the other three centre backs we have are good enough. We need a ball playing central defender to compliment him. It's a shame that our wide players aren't as effective as Cornet. Without him, it would probably have been a victory for us, he give them something different, and not Burnley like.
  2. I'd give it to A Armstrong if he plays. Needs a goal to boost his confidence. That said because he hasn't scored since the opening day, maybe not a good idea.
  3. I don't think we will be able to hold onto Livra for too much longer. If he keeps on progressing at the rate he is, I can see Chelsea activating that clause sooner rather than later.
  4. The way he celebrated the win over us at St Marys springs to mind. Setting aside the perceived rivalry, it was like they had won the league.
  5. I was always under the impression that Howe hated Saints.
  6. Am personally dreading this game to be honest. Games against Burnley are nearly always turgid affairs. They'll come down and try to bully us and make the most of any contact resulting in soft free kicks. We have to make sure we don't give away any cheap free kicks. If we get the first goal we should win comfortably, if they score first, be prepared for ten behind the ball with us huffing and puffing to try and break them down.
  7. This seems very unlike us. That would mean three senior keepers on the books until at least the summer. Unless we have something in place for Forster to move onto?
  8. Amen to that
  9. Have you seen his record since Leicester? Pretty bang average. Four clubs since in the past four years.
  10. To be fair, we would have had to move the above mentioned players on before we could have made any attempt to get either of them. We had a hard enough time shifting the last lot of shite. Wage demands may also have been an issue.
  11. Fuck me, they don't hang about.
  12. I think we tried to be too clever with the Armstrong purchase. We were clearly looking at Armstrong being a replica of Ings, in terms of size and speed. Unfortunately for us, this is were the comparisons stop.
  13. It's clear we have to be winning the games against teams around us, the bare minimum would be not to lose any of them. Not sure I can see that myself. We just don't have the quality to unlock packed defences or the ability to make something out of nothing. Games against Burnley tend to be scraps, which with the players they have, they will be up for. Leeds, although no where near as effective as they were last year, will probably just out run us, and eventually swamp us. Watford and Norwich will probably be our biggest chance to pick three points up from. Villa, we all know the script for that one.
  14. I get what you are saying and in reality it shouldn't be like this, however, we have had half decent performances and grabbed points on the road in the past, and then followed them up with really inept displays at home. Certain players shouldn't be anywhere near the starting eleven and it's this that creates the negativity. Am not a huge fan of Djenpo, but he did more coming off the bench than Redmond, even if his end product is lacking. Would rather him create confusion then see Redmond doing the same thing over and over again.
  15. Not sure if anyone could get much more out of this lot. The lack of true quality is stark and really laid bare at the moment.
  16. We had plenty of other options to go for, and Ralph seemed hell bent on getting him. Unless it was forced upon him due to lack of funds and he was the only one in our price range.
  17. Trouble is the cycle has been going on for well over a year now.
  18. Haven't seen enough of him to make a judgement to be honest. Just another one of Ralph's mysterious team selections that he would rather play a right back as a left back.
  19. If Perraud isn't very good than that surely is on Ralph? He seemed to be very keen on having him
  20. Absolutely agree he is one of the weakest keeper's in the Premier League, kicking is just about the worse I have seen from a keeper. Even if you can't get the direction right on a kick, a keeper should have at least the ability to whack it up field. McCarthy seems incapable of doing both.
  21. Think we missed a trick on the Celtic lad who ended up at Palace.
  22. Am I the only one thinking that Bednerak should have pulled Jimenez to the ground? As soon as he knew he was done, the only thought in his mind should have been to get him to the ground. Pretty sure he would have only got away with a yellow. Although I guess, he was beaten physically by Jimenez anyway.
  23. Really pleased with the result and the performance. If given that result and the start would have accepted it with both hands. Although counts for nothing if we don't beat Wolves.
  24. Absolutely agree with this. For far too long we have shied away from the confrontations in a game. Am nit a huge fan of Stephens, but fair play to him.
  25. Interesting to note that the lad Palace got from Celtic bagged a couple against Spurs earlier.
