It's not about that. The point I am trying to make is that a club the size of Bournemouth can now outspend us. I find that utterly embarrassing. It was only a few years ago that they nearly got relegated out of the football league.

While it's true that Ward Prowse flatters to deceive on occasions, I think he seems to perform better in the brief outings he has had for England rather than us. I don't know if that's because with England he is obviously surrounded by better players, or that he is playing in a more natural position for him. I saw him play a number of forward passes playing for England than I ever have whilst playing for us. Maybe he is another PEH, a player just playing for the wrong club, in a system that doesn't suit his game. Or maybe Southgate is just a better manager than Ralph.

Is there really any firm interest in us though? Are we too much of a risk for any potential buyer?
