My elderly, easily confused dad told me the case punishment had dropped yesterday. £10m fine and given a suspended ban from registering new players for two transfer windows for breaching rules. Suspended six-point deduction. Thanked for being forthcoming with information regarding the breach......... It was at this point, half way through an air punch of celebration I realised he'd heard the Chelsea non-punishment. Fuck my life.

Drowning in corruption. Man, I preferred it when I was oblivious to all this.

At least we now know exactly what cheating is. Be a real nightmare if that was even slightly subjective.

The best thing Russel Martin can do now for his career, is succeed at Leicester. These woe me interviews repainting the passage of time are fooling nobody. He isn't solely to blame for what happened, after all someone should have spotted his dogmatic, rigid approach and given him an ultimatum far earlier than his too late into the season sacking. But he seemingly cannot take any accountability for any of his failures, and that is rather dangerous in the world of football. He better hope they have fully extinguished all the rot from Leicester's dressing room, or this little experiment will eat him up. League one is a battle ground where ego's go to die. Time to walk the walk.

Rumours from Random Social Media Accounts

Never before have I wanted a summer of speculation to end. Roll on the season start. At least then we can fight it on the pitch. -

People so desperate for footy news, they'd believe anything perhaps. Bit weird though. At least focus on some juicy good news like we're in talks with Vinny jr or something. -
This thread is clearly on drugs.
-
The problem is, we are dealing with absurdity. Logic has been long forgotten.
-
If in doubt, buy a right back.

Couldn't find a generic football thread to post on, so settled here instead. Has anyone else been listening to Darragn Macanthony ramblings on talksport? I kept catching his digs at us. And couldn't work out why. But now its starting to fit. He was the owner of Peterborough when we were in L1. Weren't they pretty irritating those seasons if memory serves? Anyway, Spygate is the most criminal of all crimes. Tonda should be sacked and deported. We should never be forgiven. That's the short of it. But then he goes on...... Turns out he loves Russel Martin and Leicester. I mean serious infatuation. At one point he was begging for a billionaire to buy them. Couldn't quite work out the tentative connection, unless they used to date some time back? He's a weird fella.

If it is as common place as people are saying, then our best form of defence would be to whittle out other spies and make this a football wide issue. The amount of football staff that get removed and feel spurned would make this a relatively easy task, especially when monetising it. Why wouldn't we be seeing more coming forward knowing how much of a shit show this has been? Is it the danger of self persecution, or something more sinister? But seriously, if this is common place, lets drag it into the light using any means necessary.

Imagine it was Millwall. Sending a intern to a opposition training ground within the 72 hr frame on multiple occasions. Would that fill you with incandescent rage that would ingulf you for the summer? It's laughably dumb. Its fucking stupid. If there's an advantage gained, hit them with a massive fine. Okay. But I don't believe anyone would be dining out on this daily, waiting for the next over reaction from the governing body. I really don't. I now find myself longing for the next infringement. The next scandal. Just imagine the punishment for lets say bribing a official. Illegal betting and manipulation of gameplay. Violence and threats against the opposition. Racism. Spending well beyond your means and tax avoidance. Ball-boys not returning the ball. Corner flag over watered. No hot water in the away team dressing room, The rules can be subjective. But the punishments cannot be this disproportionate. Every case from now on has a yard stick. But that's the point. We know full well that they will never go this hard again. This is the precedent. This is the one flex, from a bullshit cowardly organisation that spends most of its time avoiding accountability.

I'd rather have a suspended Tonda than a Will Sill (nothing personal, could have been any number of names inserted) on the sidelines for the start of the season. Standing by him was the right thing to do. And time will prove that. This thread will go on to be the most bumped/bookmarked thread in SW's history.

Kevin Keegan, a sad loss for the football world. A infectious smile, a man who wore is heart on his sleeve. The scorer of the best disallowed goal ever. RIP
-
Yep. And Ross needs a pre season more than any other player. Or he'll start the season like a 56 year old man reaching too far for the remote with a bout of sciatica. Click click snap.

I think we used up all the goals.

An interview with the enemy. Man, that takes some doing. After suffering threats, paying the biggest price, the most over the top punishment ever distributed. And yet, still just having this hanging over you, but also having to talk to the sneering press. I hope he gives them nothing this season, dead eyed monosyllabic answers and depart. Nothing. He has paid an unfair price already. He owes nothing more. I hope he gets off to a good start and frustrates them further.

We have two players on 6 goals, still with a chance of the golden boot. We have a manager that people have seemingly lost faith in. We have a chance to finish third in the largest world cup ever held. Nothing to play for, really?
-
This isn't a where it was said issue, its a what was said rule infringement. FIFA have to take action as there's already multiple precedents and punishments for this breech. Trump, shut the fuck up for once you utter moron.
-
England must be doing something right. How else do we explain how annoyed everyone is, that we didn't win the World Cup. Surely that's a step in the right direction?
-
You will be shocked to know I have no inside information. Pure speculation on my behalf.

His decisions reinforced their mental fragility. They share the blame. But in all honesty, we did well to get to the semi's. Looking back over the tournament, there was not much to suggest it was going to be a success. Ghana & Panama games were pretty insipid. We were kinda lucky to get through the Mexico game. Had they equalised and taken us to ET we would have been out. Norway looked well off it on the day, made some bad decisions, and we did benefit from some luck. So where does that leave me today? Tuchel should get a stay of execution. He will have learnt a lot from this competition. Some players have stepped up and bought into his philosophy. Special mention to Spence, he's really won me over. Our defence and midfield will be far more settled than it was in the build up to the WC. The fullback issue we entered the tournament with was frankly ridiculous, and Rice seemed to be injured/unwell throughout the whole competition. Mistakes have been made. But lets not chuck the baby out with the bath water. He'll be more ruthless with his picks in the future, and that will benefit us. This World Cup was far more enjoyable than I imagined it would be, and frankly its been a good distraction. Lets hope these under fire mad German managers turn out to be little gems in the coming months!

We fell short. All manner of short. But at least we didn't go out to a dodgy VAR decision. I'm strangely at peace with the result this morning. And the countdown has begun to the real football.

Good half. Held our own. Shown Messi he won't get it all his own way. Spence looks really lively. James making space. I'm happy with that. The Argies being Argies. Lets barge them out.
