I seemed to have skipped the excitement stage, and gone straight to being nervous.

Play off opposition is seemingly changing every 20 minutes. This is crazy exciting having such a tight shoot-out between creeping in and ending up on the outside. I'm not sure who I'd prefer. There's something about Boro that bothers me. Think I'd prefer to meet them after they do battle with someone else in the semi's.

Yeah, I agree. Rest Scienza and Azaz. Bench Larin. Don't think we can rest THB with Jack missing. But we are in a privileged spot compared to the rest of them. It will be interesting seeing how the rest do in their games.

Really like Tonda, and I'm looking forward to this relationship blossoming over the coming seasons. But. Does anyone else remember mid Dec- mid Jan. There was some absolutely crap performances and results over that time. Weird how he took over and immediately won five out of six, then descended into this dreadful run. Changing to a back four and employing a goalkeeper was crucial. But this season seems to be made up of four stages. 1 Will Still 2 Temp 3 Honeymoon 4 Perertz Hoping part five is just a continuation of four.

What a lovely analogy. Thank you for that.

The silence regarding Jack is deafening.

That was a painful podcast. How on earth did he get the Saints job. Overwhelmed by the amount of players in the squad. Unable to utilise his preferred tactic due to the Championships lack of press. Couldn't figure out multiple players best positions. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but how did he get through he interview stage. Can see why he couldn't get a reaction from the squad. 'Glad it worked out for them.' Yeah, me too. But you're kinda chucking yourself under the bus saying that Will. Maybe too honest.

That last twenty minutes, it was very apparent just how much we miss Jack. Hope he's back soon. -

1-1. Surely this will be a very typical 1-1. But somethings telling it won't be. Something is telling me we put them to the sword after going one down. -

Quite possibly, but Qpr are a little bit like Bristol, party poopers when there's no need. Could see them really frustrating Town on the last day. Its going to be a mad last day, that's for sure. -

Beat Ipswich, and there's a good chance Millwall get second place. Although, it would be nice going into the last day with a shot at auto's, there's no way Millwall are going to slip up at home against and already relegated Oxford. So where does that leave us? Rest players, take our foot off the gas, upset our wonderful momentum. Go hard, risk injury/suspension to key players, preserve the curveted forth spot & drop Town into the play off mix. Lots to consider, but only really one outcome. We need to win. Worry about ourselves, and see how the chips land. Glad Tonda gets to make the decisions. He's got a better brain than me. -
Perhaps a loan spell at a different sport would help his confidence.

No shame in that. Now recuperate. Dust ourselves down and get ready for the Tuesday cup final. Should be going into that game with our tails up up up. -
Yep, Boro have now changed the parameters. There's no resting or rotating. We are now balls out all the way. And we'll just have to see where that puts us. Makes Downes suspension even more frustrating. The 3 o'clocks today look like the most inconsequential bunch of fixtures I've ever seen. Time for a break before the Pep love in starts.

Ca sera sera....... But, I won't be sad if Ipswich end our unrealistic chances of sneaking into the top two, and grab the points today. I feel it would benefit us to actually know how the calendar unfolds before the Tuesday evening game. Losing Downes at this stage, while still desperately chasing wins could well have a detrimental effect on our finish. It could also lead to more injuries/suspensions to key personnel. If its taken out of our hands today, it may well help our preparations to navigate the play offs successfully. It also leaves Millwall and Ipswich fighting it out until the last, which will have an impact on the one that has to deal with the disastrous failure of finishing third. This should not be underestimated. It feels strange writing that, as up until the Bristol City game, I seriously thought we were going to have the dream ending to the season, and snatch that position from them, when it seemed impossible just a couple months ago. Whatever happens. What a season. What a turn around from the doldrums of the previous 18 months. All credit to the club.

Comfortable win for Leicester tonight. 2-0

Who else has been retrospectively punished like this in the Championship this season. Serious question.
-
Now the real quandary starts. If we assume those two lost points have dropped us out the hunt for second, then we need to manage the squad to get into the best possible shape for the upcoming play offs. Seeing how jaded we looked last night, really highlights the importance. But the flip side to that is, we need Millwall and Ipswich to run each other to the wire so they don't get a chance to rest. We need them at full throttle in every game, so the one who falls short and drops into third is weakened sufficiently. Clearly, one of these two is going to pose the biggest challenge to us getting promoted this season, and with the luck they have both enjoyed this season, we are going to need everything possible going our way to beat them. Feels a bit dirty saying that. But this amazing run has taken its toll, and we are only a couple injuries away from the wheels coming off. Wood in for Jack last night messed with our defensive cohesion. No doubt about it.

All home wins tonight please. Nothing more.

I won't know how to feel about this game until tomorrow night. If we win, it becomes a giant distraction. A draw or defeat and its a chance to showcase the club. And start our continued refreshening of the squad, with key rotation in the games that follow. As we make our way towards the play off arena end boss. This feels like the busiest end to a season ever. No time to even look forward to the games approaching. Even the EPL has managed to peak interest. Next season will be so dull by comparison. -
Just seen that soft penalty Ipswich got yesterday, and it got me thinking about some decisions they have got lately. Questionable pen decisions at Norwich. (9 for the season) Birmingham had a perfectly legit goal ruled out. The game called off at the 80 minute mark while they were losing. Just a few off the top of my head. There's no way they are winning their remaining games unless they get some serious help from the officials. And now there's more people paying attention. I think Millwall are a bigger threat now.

I initially thought it was the calendar year, so googled it, and it said Feb. Might be counting a cup game. -

People often mention Bristol City ending our 25 game unbeaten streak in 2024. But its the other one that still pains me. The one in December 2011. We were flying, we were on the up. And we hadn't lost a league game at home since February. And then Bristol fecking City turn up. I hope we put this to bed, because I don't think I can take the treble from hell. That would put them in forever bogey territory. -
Yep. We are looking for snookers now.

17th and 9th place in the Championship are only separated by four points. Quite embarrassing for Qpr to already be checked out. As a gaffer, I wouldn't want that on my CV for the sake of a few games. Could well lose your job for that sort of finish.
