  1. There is an antique dealer in Plymouth called Robin Bastard, dont know if this is his real name or not, in Asia I the Chinese get to pick thier English names when the start learning the language, and have come across some real strange choices, my former secretary in Hong Kong was called Creamy, I have worked with a guy called Punchy, but I think the funniest one I came across was a guy I worked with in Taipei who was called Flabby Wang
  2. He is a pundit on the Football Channel in Asia, along with Charlton Palmer. Wears some outrageous suits, have to put sunglasses on at half time just to watch it. As for the OP, he doesnt look any older than when he played for us
  3. Flying back to the UK next week with colleagues, chose not to fly BA. Think it is absolutely disgraceful that they believe they can hold customers to ransom. Flying with Singapore Airlines instead, notice that whenever I fly with them the first thing the chief steward/stewardess announces is "We would like to thank you for flying Singapore Airlines we appreciate you have a choice" Enough said !
  4. Dont have these sort of problems here the Yakuza tend to take care of it
  5. I also remember seeing a Wimbledon shirt in Hong Kong a few years ago, when they were third in first division and in semi final of the cup.
  6. Surely this is fraud
  7. Noticed this myself think you meant 14 surely
  8. My understanding is that you cannot pick and chose the unsecured creditors you pay off though. The CVA is basically an agreement of all unsecured creditors to accept less than what they are owed. If one gets 30% they all get 30%. You cannot chose to pay one at 100% and one at 30%
  9. Saints 4-1 Liverpool also the 3-2 versus Man Utd when Keegan scored the with an overhead kick that was disallowed
  10. I would tend to agree, prize money and parachute payments are determined when the competition starts. Any increases will come into effect from next season at the earliest
  11. I have been thinking this since lasst week. If there is doubt over the legitimacy of the administrators appointment, don't really see how he can do much until it is confirmed one way or the other.
  12. What I don't quite understand, is the whole point of the winding up hearing is for a business to prove it is still solvent and can pay its creditors or it can't and is liquidated. Poopey obviously did not turn up at court with sufficent evidence that they were still viable or were likely to be taken over and receive a cash injection and be able to settle thier creditors. If they had, the court would have thrown out the case as debts would have been settled there and then or allowed time for the takeover to complete like they have with Notts County (although I understand that has subsequently fallen through ) and given Poopey time to re-negotiate settlements. So why the delay in liquidating the company ? The judge owes a duty of care to other business and the general public, by allowing Poopey to continue to spend money and hence further increasing the risk to creditors that they will not receive a fraction of what they are owed. Is she not negligent in discharging that duty. Are their bank accounts frozen and if so how are they paying any bills. Could a creditor sue the courts if tells stories and his chums continue to empty the bank accounts.
  13. I had one Grandfather in the Medical Corps in India and Burma, 2nd Grandfather was a pathfinder flying Mosquitos in Bomber Command
  14. "But it is claimed that Portpin have already recouped £14m - receiving £4m from the sales of Younes Kaboul and Asmir Begovic, and could write off a significant amount more in return for taking ownership of Fratton Park." I am sure if this is true, then HMRC and all of the other creditors that have signed on for the WUP order are going to be well pleased. Would have thought they would have bought a more favourable hearing if they had at least paid off token payments to other creditors.
  15. Would also like to know what assets he is talking about. Everything is mortgaged to the hilt. He is even now suggesting that fans take out loans to buy the shares in the club. So having run out of assets themselves to secure future loans against they now want fans to do it
  16. Agree everyone has a basic right to work.
  17. Noticed they havent named their full allocation of subs today either. Trying to scam the premier league in to removing the transfer embargo no doubt.
  18. Hmm so now not only can't they buy or loan anybody, they cant sell anyone either. Just gets funnier and funnier
  19. What happened when the relegated Swindon two leagues a few years back ? Did they promote another extra team ? I personally think if poopey goes pop, they will only relegate an additional two teams. Can you imagine the the legal mess if they relegated the team that finishes 16th in PL.
  20. Reckon they will be lucky to get anything for James, think they will be happy just to save his wages.
  21. JAL is the largest airline in Aisa, and would certainly consider itself a "premium airline" Not saying that that means it is well run, but being someone that takes upwards of 75 flights a year I would certainly rate it better than BA. Personally I think people at BA should just be thank full they have jobs at the moment there are a lot of people out htere that would gratefully take their place.
  22. Think the meeting with the PL starts at 1.00pm, is going to another hour at least I suspect
  23. Sorry got that wrong Huddersfield in sixth not MK Dons
  24. Not sure I know how to post a link but here goes http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D2/runin.html Football365.com have us finishing seventh based on current form until the end of the season. Interestingly enough they have Norwich, and Charlton going up automatically with Leeds, Colchester and Swindon and MK Dons in the play offs. They predict we will be some 7 points of sixth place.
  25. Was it not only yesterday that Storrie was quoted as saying that withholding the TV money Poopey's idea ?
