I think we should be aiming as high as possible, that means starting the season with aim of promotion to the premier league. Having said that one of the things I noticed in the three or four games I attended recently, one of which was the MK Dons at home game, is the way the support continued to get behind the team even when things were not going so well, for me that has been the biggest turnaround since Nigel came into the building, the most important thing next season is not to lose that. So as I say aim for promotion but lets make sure we continue to get behind Nigel and the boys if it is not going so well. Every one keeps referring to Norwich and how well they have done and I wish to take nothing away from their performance this year as I think they have done extremely well, but I do think the championship was not as strong this year as it has been in previous years. This is evidenced by the fact that not one of the relegated premiership teams has seriously pushed for promotion this year (Last year Newcastle and West Brom, who took the automatic places and by some margin if I remember correctly had come down from the PL the year before) and all three of the promoted teams from League 1 have at least been in the play off mix until the last two or three weeks of the season. Of course you could argue that also indicates that League 1 is stronger and the premier league is a little weaker in the more recent years and it is a relative thing. Either way I think it bodes well for Saints to have a good year. NC and the board have stated from day one that it is a 5 year plan, we are two years into it and if I remeber rightly NC is quoted as saying that if we get promoted this year we are still on track. In summary our goal should be promotion, but I would be esctatic if we make the play offs or better but would be happy just to consolidate this year and go up as champions the following year.

Did my degree at Plymouth Poly (as was). Love Polperro, lovely place to stay and walk along the coast to either Fowey or Looe. Perranporth I think is the best beach. Although we had a good few weekends in Newquay as well

Don't get too many games from League 1 here so can't really comment on Murray or CMS. Personally from what I have seen of Lambert, I think he will do quite well. He is not a striker that relies on pace to score the bulk of his goals but works intelligently around the box and brings others into play. I agree if we could pair him up with someone who is quick, can run at people and dribble a bit I think they could both do well. Someone like Rob Earnshaw would be my choice, probably not good enough for the premier league but has bags of expereince at championship.

My first Saints game was a 1-1 draw against Oldham Athletic at the Dell, in the season we last got promoted. I was seven at the time and it was about 4 or 5 games to go. Not sure a really understood how important the games was

Have to agree East Stirlingshire's ground is one of the worst I have been to. Also went to Queen's Park in the 90's when they were rebuilding Hampden. Worst in England I have been to is Sheilfield Park, Berwick Rangers. **** it is cold when the wind and rain are blowing off the North Sea

Football365 predict we will finish second, just ahead of Peterborough on current form http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D2/runin.html

Sorry meant to quote this one with Chaplow I dont think this is too bad

and Chaplow, dont think that is too bad really

Don't get to see to many games here. Very proud. Thought Chaplow, Harding and Fonte were absolutely brilliant. Thought we threw it away in the end, far to casual. Cant believe the commentators here though said it "ended up being fairly comfortable for United in the end". What game were they watching? Really ****es me off here.

Overseas saints what other teams do you follow?

Been to see FC Tokyo play a half a dozen times and Yokohama Marinos once, would say I supported either team but I do look for FC Tokyo results. FC Tokyo are mid-table J-League team, I would think the better J league teams could compete in the championship but probably not premier league standard. When I lived in Singapore I went and watched Home United in the S-league. Standard there is not good at all. -
I have seen this "he was sacked for gross misconduct involving someone else's wife " suggestion before, think this is extremely unlikely. If this was truly the case why were Downes and the other chap also let go ? Can you imagine turning up to work one day and being told that you are being fired because your boss gets a bit tipsy now and again and ****s someone else's wife. Doesn't really make sense does it ?

Personally think this is a stroke of genius. Even if the don't mention us by name more column inches dedicated to our club in The Sun in the last three weeks than in the last three years

Seriously having lived in Scotland I can tell you I can understand how the Old Firm can have big image right payments to make. Both Clubs easily have as big a world wide support as all but maybe three or four of the premiership clubs. The question for me is always around residency. If you are a UK resident you have to pay tax on global earnings not just UK earnings. The only way I can see this working is if you set up an off-shore company the monies are paid to a company not an individual. If the company holds the money they players would not pay tax as individuals. When their careers finish they then become non-resident and take the cash hence they are taxed under local laws, not UK laws. Can understand how that works with foreign players but not the likes of Sol Campbell. Even offshore companies though are subject to with holding taxes. There is play around wrtiing off of expenses but seriously I cannot see this being significantly profitable to make it worth while

I thought I saw something where AA was claiming that of the original 17m owed to the taxman, 12m was for PAYE and VAT with 5m being for image rights, HRMC then doubled this as a fine for non payment as it their right. However, AA said he would only recognise the 24m i.e double 12m. What I don't understand is why there is even a debate about this, as UK resident these footballs have to pay income tax on world wide earnings surely.

Also states they are going to release several youngsters they consider not good enough, who are only earning 2000 or 3000 a week. Once again anything to manipulate the situation to try and get the embargo lifted.

My understanding is if they come out of admin without the CVA in place, not only will they suffer a points deduction but they are no longer protected from creditors which basically means any creditor can apply to have them wound up. If the CVA is rejected on appeal they can stay in admin and try to put together another agreement but since the original proposal is supposedly the best deal available for creditors there would need to be some serious back tracking/manouevering to make this fly, either way emabargo stays in place. Now whilst no one can predictable second guess what HRMC is likely to do, if HRMC's true aim is to teach football a lesson and pursue some of the more, let's call them colourful characters, that have been involved for personal transgressions, then the easiset and quickest way to do this is to try and get the CVA rejected wait for them to come out of admin, issue a winding up petition themselves and then they get to pick over the bones this could all happen in weeks. No need to wait the 9 months outlined in the CVA for the forensic accounting process every one says is thier primary objective.

I now have two huskys. When we only had the one she used to rip the house up if left alone for even a short time. Now we have the second one they can be left all day without causing any damage ( dont leave out any food ). The problem is generally boredom, they tend to entertain each other now.

The other thing that strikes me is if this is upheld, The PL have no justification for holding on to parachute monies and would have to pay them directly to the club.
