  1. Indeed , an insignificant trophy but after the previous few years of relegation , administration, it was the glimpse of light at the end of a very dark tunnel.
  2. What a great day out at Wembley. 44,000 painting Wembley red and white. Marcus, (RIP,) taking photos of us fans. Saints picking up a trophy at Wembley. Great memories. Hopefully to be repeated next month, just not so many of us fans there !!
  3. Thanks, will look into that.πŸ‘
  4. Well if it had been a Saturday lunch time Ko I could maybe have delayed driving off on my holiday to Cornwall for a few hours (self contained covid bubble in self contained accomodation as per the rules I should add) but persuading my beloved to wait until 8pm on Sunday evening before driving off could be difficult. No Bt sport in holiday accomodation unfortunately πŸ™Then again, if we'd been allowed tickets for Wembley that could have been a bigger problem. Wembley or Cornwall πŸ™„ Either way, hopefully I can spend a holiday week celebrating, pissed hangovers, no problem .πŸ˜€
  5. Quite like the idea of us being the underdogs in the draw.
  6. Where's the Redmond haters ??
  7. As long as he produces one moment of magic, hits the winner that gets us to Wembley, that'll do for me 😁
  8. Dare I say they were actually missing Hojbjerg tonight sitting in front of their defence. Was enjoyable to watch though.
  9. Should be said Dave Merrington who was youth team coach thankfully did take the rumours seriously after over hearing some of the lads talking and after reporting his worries to senior club officials I believe Higgins was gone within 2 weeks.
  10. Well, as it was 75 years ago I guess you could be forgiven. πŸ‘ Your 1946 looks like it holds the record for the earliest memories of the Dell on this thread then and I thought my 1964 visit made me an old timer. Lol
  11. I've been a long time lurker on here but the above post from Lets B Avenue has brought me out of my slumber. Yes, it was also my first game as a 10 year old kid. Friends of the family had a pair of season tickets for the Upper West Stand center block. Still got the programme. (Am I right in thinking that it is still the only Saints league game where 2 players have scored a hat trick in the same game ?? ) 35 years of attending matches at the Dell and it was the only time I sat in the upper stands with the best view I ever had. 6 goals !! I thought it would be like that every game. I was in for a shock it could be said !!!! The next game I went a year later , crammed into the corner under the old scoreboard at the Archers end, couldn't see much but my love affair with the Dell had been launched. Great memories.
