  1. According to those that defend Lowe, you cant ever panic whilst his is in charge. They believe that whatever happens (including another relagation under his stewardship) Lowe will have performed better than any of the alternative options available to us. Now, if Nigel Pearson and Leon Crouch had got us into this position , then i suspect Sundance would be calling for them to go, but as its Lowe, then we need to trust that all will come right eventually, and even if it doesnt - the end result will be better than anything that could have been achieved by others.
  2. I dont agree at all , and cant believe the OS and Jan keep peddling this nonsense. What is entertaining about passing across the back four ,and then eventually losing it without getting into their half, creating few real chances, scoring fewer goals, winning one game at home in the first half of the season, and sitting in the relegation zone? It was however more entertaining yesterday ( against reading) when we were more direct...
  3. I think the key to this is how much faith Lowes backers have in him. On his own he is a minor share holder. I would hope that those who support him with their shareholding will look at the events of yesterday and see that Lowe, despite some undoubted strenghts, is fundamentally flawed as a leader of this club as his ego gets in the way of what is right for the club as a whole. I hope that within that group ( like last time he went) they will tell him its time to go. This is not unsimilar to the end of Thatchers premiership, the electorate and the labour party didnt get rid of her, those closest to her could no longer support her as her behaviour became more and more erratic.
  4. jonah whilst I agree that Lowe shouldnt hold all the blame and all our ills wont be fixed by losing him, can you not see that his arrogant approach continues to divide this club? He seems to enjoy making enemies, blaming everyone but himself, he comes across as a very deluded individual who deliberately sets out to get confrontation. This is a genuine question , do you not think we need leasdership which gets the best out of all those parties who want our club to move upwards, and Rupert doesnt have those abilities?
  5. Think it is a, b, c, and d: d: He wants the fans to unite at the Reading game with a protest against his arrogance and incompetence.
  6. Absolutely, what we get for these players will depend on what our needs are - if we dont need to sell (having satisfied Barclays that the wage bill is sustainable in the short term) then Rupert can play hardball. If we need to sell because the wage bill is unsustainable ( ie Barclays will be putting pressure on us) then we will have to get what we can. Everyone in football knows we are in the financial sh1te, which will mean that they will attempt to get our players at a bargain price. The game of poker will then begin - and although Rupert has many many faults, he does have a good record for getting good value for our players.
  7. exactly, michael wilde once saw rupert for what he is, but for some reason he has now done a deal with the very man he despised......to our cost. i hope you got something out of this michael because we are paying a hoigh cost.
  8. Lowe is the problem, his ego is his number one priority, he will only run the club along his own unique and flawed view of how a footballl club should be run , hence whilst we struggle at the foot of this league, all we get from our chairman is crap about what great footballl we play. Rupert - you can keep saying its great - as a season ticket holder ive seen one win all season - so kindly keep your remarks to yourself . Jan is a pawn is this game - he isnt the driving force behind where we are - Its Lowe. Sure we have no money - but we havent got jan and his associated coaching team because they are the cheapest and only possible solution, we have them because this is what Lowe wants. So no i dont have much faith in Jan, because the whole concept comes from a man who is deeply flawed, and motivated by all the wrong reasons. Lowe is a stubborn failure - and his ego will get in the way of saving our club.
  9. agree - forget all the gimmicks , price all tickets at sensible and attractive levels
  10. exactly Jonahs argument is very one eyed..... Quote: Despite receiving tens of millions from player transfers, television, sponsorship revenues and packed houses at St Mary’s, all we were left with when Rupert departed was the second year parachute payment. In other words, Rupert spent every penny we had on the team, Leon is making the point that Rupert wasn't squirreling it away and refusing to spend it... Quote: “I do not believe that Harry Redknapp was given a fair chance with only £90,000 spent on Ricardo Fuller Oh no, wait, that doesn't fit in with what I want to say, I'd better try to claim Rupert was squirreling it away and refusing to spend this fictional money after all! Yes Rupert spent the money, but the real question is how wisely he spent it - we ended up with a huge squad of journeymen because we had a wage cap per player, would have been better to have had fewer, better players...and we also spent a lot of money on paying off managers etc . I dont think Rupert has an impressive record of investing wisely andl eon has a fair point.
  11. paul - good to see you are still out there - look me up next time your back in blighty
  12. I know we have little choice due to our finances - but it would be so much more satisfying if we had some possibility of keeping him for say the next 3- 4 yrs and really watch his talent develop , but like Walcott , Bale and Kenwyne b4 him, as soon as they show potential they are off.
