Best player you've seen play 'in the flesh'
Paul Chuckle replied to SO16_Saint's topic in The Saints
Juninhio. Remember he was playing when we beat Boro 4-0 in 96 but his touch, control etc was amazing. Brilliant little player -
He was always going to leave us but I reckon he'd have stayed for at least 1 season had we got promoted in 2006/07, was a big blow he couldn't play in the 2nd leg! And to think he almost joined Forest on loan in January :-o

Hopefully the fashions from the 80s football days will come back :/

And the above is crap as well.

Someone had to post it, still makes me lol

I like his interviews. After we drew Colchester at home the reporter said 'i bet you worried in last minute when **** streaked through the middle' Adkins replied 'I was worried when he came streaking through but luckily the lad had his clothes on' Made me' chuckle

What was the White House before it was the White House?

I went in there once about 4 years ago. All I remember is that there was me' and 3 people I work with in there in a Friday night plus they had a punani man in the loo's -
I was in Kingsland/ Northam corner so could see a few of their fans making 'Slit throat signs, see you outside gestures, holding arms wide open etc' but the funny thing was that our fans just weren't rising to it. I along with a few others got called 'Scummers' walking in to the ground which we again just found laughable! I just don't get it, well I do. Even though we are where we are we are still seen as the 'BIG' scalp on the South Coast.

'Steve Grant well connected' made me LOL anyways -
On sky Channel 434 now Liverpool Reserves Vs Chelsea Reserves. No sign of Adkins or Cortese so far lol

Nice round of applause for Liebherr and Stansfield on Soccer AM just now. Chamberlin looked like she was welling up when she said 'this week football has lost 2 friends'
-
Possibly one of the best win percentages in a Southampton shirt lol
-
I'm sure I have read on here before that we waved the sell on to get Stern John instead???
-
Didn't the new West Ham owners find 1000s of unsold shirts ordered in when they took over? Surely its good marketing not making enough as it drums up even more interest and sales. Loos at the Nintendo Wii, they never made enough but they kept on selling as soon as the came in to stock

worst commentator ever

I wish Southampton had a tune like Leeds do with 'Marching on together' I know we have 'oh when the Saints' but it wasn't written for us, s nice if we had a rousing song before the games. I seem to remember Derby had a song they played when was at Pride Park for play-offs

Funniest Rumours of summer signings from days gone by
Paul Chuckle replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
Weren't we interested in Forlan in the summer of 2001? But Man Utd came in for him so Forlans agent recommended Delgado instead? Remember being linked with Gary Breen when Strachan was here. Joey Beauchamp we were always linked with and had it not been for a back injury we'd have signed him and not Marsden! Alun Armstrong a player linked for ages and went to Boro -

Didn't we try and sign this guy but he wanted us to pay his wives Solicitors wage as well? Seem to remember him playing against Chelsea in the Cup Winners Cup in 1997 http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bjørn_Johansen Michael Duberry as well http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11700_2183734,00.html And also remember we were linked with a 3.5 million move for Vialli from Chelsea when Souness was our manager -

I remember during the Sounness era we were linked with signing Turkilymaz (the Switzerland international) and Pavel Kuka (Czech Republic player) and a Portugese striker who was even in the crowd when we lost 3-1 away at Wimbledon in 96 live on Sky but after seeing that perfomance i think he changed his mind lol Here is the Bierhoff link http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/1472003.stm and who remembers this http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/2013048.stm -
