  1. If he looks remotely like scoring in training, over Long and Broja, it would seem odd to lose a couple of million for every lost place in the table, just so we could save some money on his deal. Unless we're giving his old club a 5 odd million sum, and thought we'd take a chance with a view to offloading AA in the summer.
  2. Osvaldoesque training ground bust up between him and JWP on day one. 🙂
  3. It's a cunning plan, hiding all our best players until they're on long contracts with giant release clauses. Perhaps the lack of such clauses is why we've not seen AA. He's too good to risk other clubs seeing him. 🙂
  4. Wow. I turned the radio off with 3 mins to go. I'd just had it on in the background. Grealish had just had a couple of efforts, and Madrid weren't doing much. Didn't see that coming at all.
  5. They both should be better finishers. However, as someone posted, Broja seems to be happy to have next season mapped out and Armstrong has struggled, and there may be other things going on from issues settling to the club perhaps looking to move him on. All speculation above, but Long gives a consistent game, although not likely to have any goals in it. Ralph went with that option, along with Adams. A performance he could count on. I would still have still picked either of the other two, but I can understand why he went the way he did.
  6. That would make sense considering what we've seen and the selection choices. I'd have thought moving on some would be hard due to wages, if nothing else. I guess we'll have to wait and see how successful it is at the start of next season.
  7. Isn't that enough? He's sought after for interviews in football data analytics books too. 🙂 And Brentford have done well. They look to sell their best player each year. Tino's injury could either mean a no for a KWP move, or it's Valery, Perraud, Small, Vokins, Ramsay to pick from. JWP too.
  8. Have we learned nothing from Germany vs Austria in the 1982 World Cup Finals?! although Germany did get the win, they both went through, got what they wanted and FIFA didn't punish them...okay, bad example... 🙂
  9. Perfect timing for a winning Ralphball masterclass. They'll never expect it! I'm not sure some of us would expect it either. 🙂
  10. And scored/ game to give the xG even a little context...
  11. For info, here's xG from that site, for each team, across the same number of seasons.
  12. Ours, including this season.
  13. Also while nosing, here's our last 6 year, going back to Puel's season, since that was being discussed on some threads.
  14. I wonder who we'll get recommended, from a guy who would much rather be at his new employer? "I think that to really progress, we have to think right outside the box. Say hello to our former basketball playing defender and striker and our rugby playing midfield (Clive says hi, by the way.)" 🙂 (I'm confident that he will be profssional throughout. Besides, considering some of the deals that haven't worked at all in previous years, he'd have to work extra hard to be as poor.)
  15. Went for a look and, according to link below:- 7th on shots per game and 7th for shots on target per game. https://www.whoscored.com/Regions/252/Tournaments/2/Seasons/8618/Stages/19793/TeamStatistics/England-Premier-League-2021-2022 9th on xG (1.53) and, while I was nosing, 12th on xGA (expected goals against 1.59). https://footystats.org/england/premier-league/xg 15th on the failed to score chart, where lower is better. https://footystats.org/england/premier-league/failed-to-score-table
  16. Just reading they were associated with QPR. But that QPR now have their own team, in the division below. So Hounslow impacted from that.
  17. I'd like an exciting summer. But also an exciting following season where all of the recruitment pays off. More likely to happen if you know what you're getting than several smaller, riskier investments. Here's hoping. Ralph's number two was on a coaching course. Ralph's an autocrat, so it's probably more of giving him better data/ ideas to pick from, than someone coming in and shaking up the relationships (although I think that would definitely help). Again, here's hoping. That's a lot of change.
  18. Never good, after seeing just how smart we have to be over the summer, and how many in the squad are replaceable, to hear that your head of scouting and recruitment is going. Can only hope moves for a lot of key targets are well under way. Leicester may be shopping at a different store from us, and have a different set of criteria/ targets. Hopefully, the club's sucession planning also extends to Glvoer and that we have a replacment in mind, if it's not going to be an internal switch. If we're really lucky, Glover will convince Leicester hat the players they need are all our deadwood, and they can join up with Vesty and Bertrand.
  19. Just reading that Ross County have a chance of European football next season. They have now climbed to 5th, and are in the top half of the split that league has. Vokins has 16 appearances to Ramsey's 8 (with Sims yet to play). Good experience for them, and a decent club relationship for us to have.
  20. From the Beeb's gossip page... Napoli have set their sights on 20-year-old Chelsea striker Armando Broja, with the Albania forward having impressed while on loan at Southampton this season. (Todofichajes - in Spanish
