Since spyinthesky said "will" it could be read that this will depend on who we manage to keep in the summer. Here's an example of that very thinking, right here. 🙂
-
You said that "If he is fit enough to play non league games he is fit enough to play Championship games" That's plural. So you're equating the fitness requirements of multiple Championship games with that of multiple non league games. "your thinking is flawed" is how you describe anyone who thinks that the fitness requirements of a Championship player are higher than those of a non league player. Then there are the points being made that players returning to fitness at a certain level, may not be able to be as good at that level due to injury. You've said that "In ability he is at the very least a Championship level player." Sadly, real players don't regain fitness and race back up to their FM potential ability. We won't know the level of his ability until he's back playing from his injury. As pointed out by Erwink and LD, for a start.

I think the one Hoddle used has passed on. But we could ask him to get a medium to contact her anyway, for a reference. 🙂

1) https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/topic/61105-new-manager/page/47/ In summary: You insisted that Director of Football and Director of Football Operations were the same thing. "What difference do you think the one extra word makes" (also funny, considering you're pedantry about wording) When the difference was pointed out, and when the difference a word can make to a title, you tried and failed to shift the goalposts and rann off hiding. Oddly, just earlier today you were happy to accept everyone else was right. Just without ever, ever having to admit it. https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/topic/61307-johannes-spors-potential-sporting-director/page/2/ 2) I've not mentioned Ross Wilson, so you may be having a multi-pedantry fail across threads.

I only caught the second half. It took Bedders trying to get out of the way of a shot, and it going in for us to do much of anything, as well as more aggressive subs. in the end, it's another defeat to add to the pile. Doing it in spells isn;t worth anything on the points tally. Pluses were Sule tracking back. TP got a good delivery and got his first goal for us. He got into at least a couple of decent positions too. Sadly, our attack is so disjointed we stumble onto chances more than create them. Aribo and Les put in some decent runs. Will got into some space to get the ball forward. I didn;t see his performance the other night. He didn;t do massive amounts today, but was always there to receive and pass, which is what he's best at. I'll read the comments on the first half, and no doubt get a very different picture to the side that nearly got a draw, yet managed not to.

The expression has recently been updated to "A pedant with a keyboard" SaintsWeb gets cited in the references for the update, for some reason. 🙂

Crumbs!

Finally... we manage to get a decent delivery into the player who can head the ball. That's just taken us years to get a goal out of it. 🙂

TP!!!!!!!

TP header! Just not enough power on that one.

your wish is granted. 🙂

Don't just take my word for it. Directors of football, directors of football operations and directors of football mascots all agree from last week, when you vanished. 🙂 You're just back from an extended huff, after a long series of being completely wrong, but insisting you were right. 🙂

oh, a var for us. comeback is on again!
-
my coverage just showed VAR agreeing Bedders did everything possible to get out of the way of the shot, for his goal and we concede again. didn't even manage to mention the comeback being on. dreadful.

I like goals! Hang on....have we been the ones scoring them?
-
Just back. Should I be tuning in?

Players returning from injuries may be considered fully fit to play. However, due to the nature of the injury are simply not able to do the same things as they used to. Losing that hard of pace is a well worn example. A player fit to return in non league games may be fit to start. Championship game. However, the outcome may be very different due to the injuries suffered, and the amount of ability required at each level. Stewart being fit for one level, and perform well at it, does not mean the same would apply at Championship level. And please reconsider phrases such as"your thinking is flawed." The board is full of examples of you running off to hide when your own arguments are flawed. Normally, that's just part of discussions and banter. But making condescending remarks prevents that from happening.

I see that Weston already answered with employee. Above and beyond the base contracts, there will be the player's Nivea commercials or whatever. That could be paid/routed to a player's own company, registered in your nearest tax haven, as the player isn't representing the club. Things like image rights etc, when they are representing the club would be something different again. Unless drawn up separately, probably part of the employee contract too for tax purposes? There will be medical insurance and the club will have made a claim. The insurers will be all over it, due to player's injury record/ signed if not fully fit. Assessors worth their salt will also mine through any left field Rasmus comments to see if he mentions signing players who have iffy fitness records, but who could come good. The club's insurance risk/ payments would be impacted.

If you read Lighthouse's response to Mboto's post, mine was really a follow up to that. Note also the fun at Russball's expense. Not for me to say it was my usual comedy gold, but I can direct you to Trousers' comedy laugh emoji of quality. 🙂(Being trousers, there is a chance he's hedging his bets on whether it was funny or not. 🙂)

Comedy Answer: Depends on how close the treatment room is to training. Serious Answer: As an employee of the club, we have a duty of care to provide all reasonable options to aid recovery. As an employer of players in the future, it's not just duty of care, or wanting to do the right thing, but will also shows the support we would give any player who becomes injured. Within the recovery process, there may be difficult discussions should recovery, and to expected levels, become very unlikely. The club will be very careful around such issues, as you'd expect from any employer. Occasionally, it comes from the player or through medical advice.

We should draw a line under it. And remember that a line that starts horizontally, before going on a number of short, meaningless vertical detours, is still a line. 🙂

We did get some late winners. (Side discussions are available as to why we had to leave it so late, despite having easily one of the best squads in the league 🙂) My point wasn't that we ended every game on 60 minutes because they'd been smoking 40 a day on the training ground. Some players are fitter than others. Some games take more out of a team than others. Sometimes, there's a lot of fixtures and returning from injury. Sometimes, some individual talent at a lower level gets the points. But on a more than one occasion, we were the side that wore ourselves out playing a lot of sideways passing. I remember saying that Martin's controlled approach should often be able to allow us to manage our energy and make the most of it at key points in the game. Just for us to promptly wheeze, give away some sloppy space and passes, then concede. It would cross my mind on some days our possession game struggled and that Martin's approach never really clicked to the extent we challenged for automatic places, and faded away. There were plenty of other reasons for that. But I was surprised in the games we faded in, when we looked tired, having not had to do as much (thanks to Martin's control approach) as our opponents.
-
Is now a bad time to mention my surprise last season, when having most of the possession and our opponents having to exert themselves a lot more, we were the side that ran out of puff on more than one occasion?
-
I hadn't noticed we had defenders under Martin. 🙂
