  1. We may as well be part of the City Group at this stage 😅. As others have alluded to, I'd like to see more experienced players bought in this window. Give the team some balance. I'd be looking for a LB/RB, as we only really have KWP and Perraud available and I'm not a fan of AMN/Lyanco/Salisu covering those positions. I'd take Ings back tomorrow. Him and Adams had a great partnership going before and he could score the goals to keep us up. Not in line with Sport Republics ethos though so won't happen. They'll try to unearth a striker from one of Europe's top leagues for £15m and that's too risky for our current position IMO. If we can keep our status in the PL then I believe the future is very bright for us, might take a couple of seasons but I think we'll be competing for the top half again. Big IF though.
  2. Can people start to pry themselves off Nathan Jones's back now? I wasn't a fan of the appointment or the first few results but he's obviously turned a corner and the players are fully on board. We need to lift this negativity and get behind NJ and the team if we're to get out of this mess.
  3. Well if we put two more performances in like tonight against Newcastle then we're in the final. Not much to ask is it?
  4. Impossible like tonight you mean?
  5. That was a team fighting for their manager. The hunger and belief tonight was incredible. I'm still in shock from what I've just witnessed. Mara first goal, Djenepo first goal for 22 months, on another day we could've added a couple more. City 0 shots on target for the first time since 2018. The complete performance. I lost money betting on City tonight, I also. Bet on Palace at the weekend. I will also bet on an Everton win now! COYR!
  6. What's par for the course score wise tonight then?
  7. Guy seems to be a wind up merchant gathering by the rest of his feed.
  8. Saints have offered €10m for Alcaraz but Racing Club want more. I think we'll get this one over the line.
  9. Lower league side at home would be the best draw, we seem to be able to scrape through them. Didn't expect us to win yesterday, but as long as we don't draw any of the big boys then at least we have a chance. I'm not in the "the cups don't matter" club. If we win they'll breed confidence throughout the squad, which can only be a positive. If you offered me relegation but we'd win one of the cups I'd take it every day of the week. I'm 34 and I've only seen us win a paint trophy.
  10. 7 minutes until half time.. Do we go in level..
  11. We did a goal?
  12. 25 mins in. No shots, no corners, no hope.
  13. He's on £4m a season, which is £80k a week. Over 3.5 years that's £14.5m. Can you actually believe it? Plus the rumoured £10m to pay off Ralph. I just.. I give up.
  14. Genuinely not going to watch another game until he's gone. I'll follow AFC Totton more. My love for the club is at an all time low. Well done Sport Republic.
  15. I genuinely think we could pluck a random fan of this forum and they'd do a better job, that's how bad he is. The camera zoomed in on him biting his nails and looking at the clock on the big screen. Even he knows he's well out of his depth. Some managers do well in the EFL but that's their maximum level and he comes under that category. When his name was leaked it was met with WTFs on here and normally the fans are right. Same with Carrillo. Monaco fans were laughing at us. I think people in power believe their own hype and think everything will turn to gold. Well it hasn't, its turned to shit.
  16. Clubs rotten to the core. We always think the grass is greener on the other side. We wanted owners with investment, we got that. We wanted Ralph out, we got that. Look where its got us.
  17. Some of the worst football I've ever seen. Are we a shit version of old Burnley? Hoof ball? I'd rather we stuck with Ralph.
  18. If we're sticking with a back 5, I'd like to see something like this. Bazunu KWP-ABK-DCC-Salisu-Perraud JWP-Lavia S. Armstrong Edozie Adams
  19. We only lost 3-1 so we're better than Everton.
  20. I don't think there's a manager that would keep us up. The fight has drained out of the team and fans alike. We've been sleepwalking towards this day for a few years now. We played alot better today than Boxing Day but we still offer near to nothing from open play and defensively we have no leaders. Keep conceding + can't score = relegation. If we lose against Forest that's us as good as down, even though we're not far adrift.
  21. Played well, didnt take chances, concede out of nothing, heads drop, beaten already. No belief in this team that they can come back and win this.
  22. Thought he'd been getting alot of unjust flack aimed his way recently, but the first and questionably the second were his fault. Certainly the first. The second he gets a slight touch with catches Perraud off guard. But he was so late to react to it in the first place. With him and Mccarthy as our choices, along with this terrible midfield and defence, we'll concede a couple a game. We rarely score two, so unless something drastic happens I can't see us staying in this league. We've been riding our luck for around 5/6 seasons now, but finally it's running out. On another note, I was close to going today until I looked at the block we normally sit in and it came to £83 for two of us. Absolute joke of a pricing structure.
  23. The main thing is we're through, although large parts of the first half I was thinking it's better to go out tonight than prolonging our exit until the next round. Maitland-Niles shouldn't be in a Premier League squad. That promise he showed at Arsenal has completely distinguished. I don't get the Bazunu bashing. Is he meant to expect his own player to lob him, then punch through the opposition players head to clear the ball? That goal was completely on AMN's incompetent "clearance". And yes, I used to play in goal 😅. Improved when we went to a back 4, with Stu and Edozie bringing some quality. Theo also did well in his cameo. The less said about the two chances at the end the better.
  24. They're 3rd in League One, but tbf that's about our standard right now.
  25. If its pens were out. McCarthy has never saved one in his entire life.
