Social media does give people a platform to voice. However people have become utter dicks over a number of years, enabled or influenced by others. People are taking it too far with being abhorrent in terms of racism and other forms of abuse. In my opinion this has led to people being dicks in the real world where there are consequences.

Yup, I feel that was a turning point. Upto the point, he seemed to be getting better game by game. Was causing all sorts of issues. That tackle definitely knocked his confidence and seemed a lot more hesitant taking people on.

Yes I feel similar, it looks like a serious failure by the police. More broadly, though, these police officers' actions and attitudes don't exist in isolation but they're influenced by wider social and institutional pressures. One possible factor is a perceived need to demonstrate anti-racist credentials or support for minority groups in ways that can sometimes come into tension with police duties of strict impartiality and responsibility for welfare. It doesn't help that Digwa happens to be Sikh and Indian. As that's fuel on the fire. But him and his family are cruel, calculating and should all be put away for their actions.
