It'll be a smashing game. Goals galore.

The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?
JohnnyShearer2.0 replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Don't say that on a doctors reddit sub. You'll get you're head chewed off! -
Always preferred Jenny Powell over Winkleman.
-
Terrible today. Several players had off days. Not good enough
-
Fucking shit defending. How many goals have come from crosses this season.
-
Missing the driving runs of Fellows. Fraser looks too scared and has been checking backwards.
-
Gonna be one of those days. They'll have one chance and score.
-
Sorry but why are you trying to pivot to a left versus right agenda? I didn't mention any of that only that my examples are people in the spotlight with a lot of influence which in turn has emboldened a lot of people. Not sure why you're saying its both sides when I didn't mention any in the first place.
-
Disagree. People have become more emboldened to say shit in the last few years and that comes directly from the likes of Trump, Farage, Musk and others seemingly being able to say shit and having little or no consequences. The masses start doing the same and soon realise that there are consequences to being idiots. Social platforms have given people a route to be rude or a dick etc but it doesn't mean its a free hit to be like that.

Saints second half performances under Tonda....... QPR 2:1 Sh Wed 1:0 Charl 0:0 Leics 0:0 Millwall 2:3 Brum 1:1 WBA 0:2 Yes, we had dominated many of the first halves, but we totally switch into passive mode after the break. Last night it was a bloody good thing we had scored 3 in the first 45. I'm enjoying the wins and the attacking football. If I've got an opinion that we Saints should do better not sure why you're getting so angry. Anyway, enjoy the ride as I am!

Good point, early season was impacted by the crazy tactics of high balls into him. Not his fault.
-
Definitely rated in the Championship. Can't believe he is still only 28! His confidence seems to have definitely increased from the beginning of the season and credit to Tonda for facilitating it.
-
Thanks. Odd that you're moaning about people moaning. Weird indeed.
-
Aye, indeed. Fellows really starting to get going now with his driving runs. Azaz, I was unsure of but can see now he has quick feet and a clever player. Scienza - what a find!
-
Lol, what happened to him?

https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/reform-forced-to-defend-candidate-from-their-own-racist-supporters-401249/ Wow, the Reform councillor messed up there. Should have gone for British born and a full British citizen as the minimum.
-
Hopefully another win. I wonder if Norwich will try and sit back. Maybe a Azaz will unpick them.
-
Once December is over maybe the subs will ease off? Could do with a couple of decent loans to help out.

He is Saints Shaun Goater!
-
Yep, great viewing. I like what he said the other day about the priority is winning first and getting the result. Then comes togetherness and then good football (I think there was more). Therefore I'm pretty certain he's working on a way to get the balance on the attacking front and defensive side. It's a fantastic start and hopefully it'll continue!
-
Yes agreed. Tonda has found a way to get goals and set up attacks which we haven't seen for long time. Definitely needs to find that balance and maybe a change in formation will help. Charles coming back will help AND if Stewart was ever fit, Saints could switch their game up. Hopefully Archer will get some confidence with a goal soon or Jay gets his timing right on shooting. Signs are there which are very promising.

Blimey, someone is getting awfully upset just because you deem that I'm unhappy about Saints having won 6 out of 7. Nowhere have I said that I am not. Bringing in the old you can't debate fallback is poor. I've tried to engage but you seem intent on scoring points. Also its nice of you to go back and add additional reasoning to your post regarding fatigue. That works both ways for teams. Simply put, I don't see why Saints cant score a lot of goals in this league and when the opportunity comes they should go for it. Not sure why you cant accept that. Why fall back? Why not try to score a couple more against Charlton or Brum? Again I never said Saints should smash teams 7-0 every game. So a bit odd you know how I think.
-
Give over. With the attacking players Saints have, why cant they beat teams comfortably. I'd hardly call 2-1 or 3-2 or even the 3-1s smashings. The only metric for me is goals scored and conceded. I couldn't care less for other metrics. Not sure why you think I'm being short term. I've been pretty consistent all season in my view that with the attacking players Saints have, Saints should be going for it. That was my view under Still and its great to see Tonda getting the team to do it.
-
They're a recurring theme in the sense that Saints don't smash teams when they should, with the players they have. Why slow down or give the onus back to the opposition? Yes, there will be times when the opposition has the advantage or takes control but I'm not liking the retreat they've shown in some games. 6 out 7 of is great, no doubt. I want it to continue as long as possible.
-
Yep agreed. Would be good to see if he uses other formations too or not.
