  1. yes a good nights work. remember Barnsley beating us 3-2 at St Marys about 5 years ago. We have come a LONG way since then
  2. I'm so pleased for Rickie, the ultimate "never give up" story. How many of us would have thought of this when we signed him 4 years ago.
  3. No number 11 me notices
  4. Very sad. I was born in 66 so too young to remember him but my older brothers (born 57 & 60) used to tell me as a kid how he could head the ball. I watched the youtube clip of him scoring 4 goals vs Man Utd Made me think of Rickie and great back post headers. RIP
  5. Nice localish away day. Pleased for Kevin Phillip's that he scored. And please remember respect for Mr Holloway when they play at St Mary's (no singing the premier league your having a laugh)
  6. Good luck DC Will always remember that goal he scored against Norwich at St Mary's when we both were in Div1
  7. Thanks You really realise Rickie's contribution when you watch this
  8. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22631540 Another player from the 76 final gone.
  9. Doubt very few people would have expected better than this at the start of the season, let alone 4 games in! Well Done Saints, what a fantastic 3 years
  10. The biggest signing of the summer for me would be Shaw. Still worry he may go to Chelski
  11. I thought Rickie looked sharper today
  12. G*d Stoke are hard to watch. Having said that we really have lost a little of our edge. Anyway a good season
  13. Is it possible that NC just mentioned the contract talks in passing to the jerno, only to find in horror that it was suddenly a big story? Whatever, I'm SO pleased it is all over. Come on you reds
  14. Wow was that 10 years ago! How quickly we fell away after that. I'll stick my neck out and say that our present team would beat that team 10 years ago. Not sure if our current team would beat that Arsenal team tho' (I don't think the current Arsenal team would either)
  15. A possible reason is there is a split within Markus's family and NC is "playing the press" with agreement of some of the Lieber's to bring some people into line. Whatever is happening, it's unsettling to have it played out in public.
  16. Really enjoyed this season. Pleased to see our young players come on by leaps and bounds. My low was the long train journey back to Kent after RvP Fergietime winner (we played so well that day which made it worse) My high was beating Liverpool at St Mary's (a MUCH happier train journey back to Kent) Another high was my 14 year old son, who has faithfully supported us through his life FINALLY being able to go to school with a sping in his step the Mondays after beating Man City, Chelsea & Liverpool
  17. Yep agree with that!
  18. Signed Good Luck
  19. My Guess is that the Liebherr's are a bit worried at NC behaviour over Franny's house and the manner of Adkins departure. They may be trying to rein him in a bit and he isn't having it Whatever I'm seriously worried
  20. Lallana is a very very talented footballer, who has shown us far more loyalty than 99% of other pro footballers in recent times. Yes, he is having a difficult patch. Yes, he is perhaps not the best choice for Captain BUT we would not get a replacement flair midfielder that is better than him for less than £15M! I think next season he will be awesome
  21. We are safe. Time to close this thread
  22. Well done Saints.
  23. Yes well done to the fans who made the long journey. Nice to hear you singing "He s**ts when he want, he s**ts when he want, Jason Punchion he S**ts when he wants"
