  1. Was is Charlie George or Stan Bowles who said he once stood at the centre circle for kick-off one Saturday and had had so much as lunchtime he was seeing two footballs? I know which one our forwards would kick!
  2. Now RM is one bloke I really couldn't stand. Even when we were in the Championship, he almost ballsed it up. If anyone takes him on after what he showed at Swansea and us, more fool them.
  3. One of my favourite post-Ralph away days was at Chelsea when we had that Ruben song. Since leaving us, he had a load of kids at Reading doing the high press and he's doing the same at Hull. But think he's more of a tactician than that. I like him. He's unassuming and hope he does well but there was no way he was going to stay with us after seeing out those last games two years ago.
  4. Is it to do with aesthetics? The cameras are above the Kingsland, so from there the ground looks occupied. Do it the other way around and it'll seem that no-one's there, and the FA won't want that look for the FA Cup.
  5. I've heard this quite a few times, but I really can't agree. Another season in the Championship would just embed us as a Championship team and we'd very likely turn in to a West Brom or Norwich. The gulf between the two leagues is getting wider, so I'd much prefer to get promoted first and then see if we can hold on (like Forest, Brentford etc) and get established again in the premier league. Must admit, the more this season has gone, the more it's become apparent just how weak our squad really is. I thought THB & Downes were going to look ok in the premier league but they are now looking very ordinary.
  6. I get the impression Juric may be giving up on Downes. Bringing back Charles and signing a nobody midfielder suggests to me that Downes may be watching a lot of future games.
  7. The result might be the same but the football has been a lot more entertaining since Juric took over. That clearance off the line was phenomenal. 3-3 would have been a fantastic result. Still was to see Archer playing off TP, and please can we finally give up on AA.
  8. Probably find it on TNT (previously BT Sport) if you've got that. Otherwise, it's finding a stream on soccerstreams.io that doesn't have some tart twiddling her fanny.
  9. Thanks Lighthouse. Don't know how to put this screenshot on the site. Really helps to see the team in its entirety. With Dibbers injured, this doesn't look much of an attacking threat at all.
  10. Although looked again and he's joined by Armstrong. FFS. Why oh why?
  11. Sule's first good game for us rewarded with being on the bench - but Archer in so I'm happy. I predict Archer will be key to us next year.
  12. Which is true which also reinforces the point I was trying to make. There are players with potential in our squad. Tella improved because he left the club rather than because of RM. Charles left while RM was here and looks a better player. Who else is Juric going to bring on? Fernandes seems to be moving from the good to the exceptional bracket.
  13. Got to say, he's already getting a tune out of Sulemana...which I for one thought was not possible. In Martin's time, I can't think of one player who progressed under RM's management.
  14. Got to say, even by our standards, this implosion has been pretty impressive.
  15. And where are Forest in the league? I can see not risking injury, but then don't put him in the squad. It's all a bit academic. Main thing is to show some sort of spirit and promise for the future.
  16. Don't like Aribo and Big Les in the same team. Downes is on the bench. If he's fit enough to be there, why can't he start?
  17. Was that the pass that came down with snow on it? Against that Swansea team, he was still doing too many Redmond style stepovers and slowing the attack down. He does one lucky lob, gets past a defender once to get his assist off to Tyler Dib and people think he had a good game. Tall Paul with Archer playing off him up front would have had 5 goals in the first 25 minutes against that team. Given someone wrote Juric was so excited after Sule scored that he went charging down to the Family Stand waving his knob around in delight, one can only think he kept TP out the team because he didn't want to be outdone if Paul scored a hat-trick!
  18. Thought Juric was brave playing Sulemana. It could have halved his sale value! Not buying in to 'there's a player in there' nonsense. Still think he's Shit, with a capital S! He should be running at players and running on to knocked on headers etc all day long - and against a weak Swansea team, he only did it once or twice.
  19. When your season is all but over at Christmas and you're only playing friendlies in the league, a cup run at least gives us a bit of interest so I'm pleased that Juric put out what he considered to be our best team. I don't agree with Armstrong & Archer coming on as subs at the same time. He did that with the Brentford game. They're too similar though I think Archer is marginally better.
  20. All part of the cunning plan. Keep it to 0-0 until we find out who we've got in the second round half way through our game and then bring on the strikers if we're playing a weak team....ah, I see a problem, we are the weak team!
  21. This typifies SR's approach to management and recruitment. Last minute and arse about face. In isolation, it was a great signing, but if I recall, there was increasing concern as deadline day was approaching that we were incredibly light on the goalkeeping front, so this was a kneejerk reaction to get him in and sod the cost. But up front we went for lightweights and midfield (other the Fernandes which sounded like a punt) wasn't much better. Ramsdale was supposedly low on confidence last season. Not sure picking the ball out of the net five time a game helps improve it!
  22. Baz really is that bad. Genuinely believe it was his injury and subsequently bringing in Mac that got us promoted. So now, we've got something else to blame Baz for.
  23. "For us [the FA Cup] is really important. We need the joy of playing good games. For us in this moment everything is important. I don’t want to rest [players]. I have 17, 18 players, maybe more, who are competitive. I just want to win the game and then after the game I’ll think about Manchester [United] and Tottenham." Quoted this from the Southampton website. Got the impression he's going to put out a full strength team tomorrow.
  24. There are rules for transfer pricing and this is sailing very close to the wind. SR are trying to be smart and redistribute income around its clubs and use the clubs as a commercial venture. It could be football, it could be rugby. They don't care. It's just a shame they picked on our club.
  25. Really like his attitude, really like how he can see a pass, he's not the tallest but makes his presence felt when he comes up for corners...but he's another that really needs to work on his fitness. At this level, he's a yard off the pace (and that's being generous).
