  1. A lot of us do, but of the three main names, he comes across as the most likely to stay with us once promoted rather than use us as a stepping stone.
  2. A few years ago, the club produced a calendar with some of its memorable moments. The 5-1 thrashing of Derby, the promotion game against Walsall and I remember ticking off about five of six of the games. Well, today I can say - I was there when we didn't become the worst team ever in the premier league. We're only the second worst! Don't think the match will make any future calendars! It was awful and City looked pretty second rate.
  3. Were they practising their commands: "Fetch" - for Aaron Ramsdale to pick the ball out of the net "Sit" - to KWP or Sule or any number of our players that seem to spend more time on their arse than on their feet. and there's probably a lot more useful things they could be doing...
  4. Watching the Bristol City v Sheff Utd play-off match today, BBD isn't even on the bench. Is he injured?
  5. When we last played them, didn't Pep say we were the best team City had played and he could learn a lot from us? And then City went in to freefall and realised what we were doing was absolute bollocks!! So now they're playing more positive football again and this could be anything. If Rusk persists with this idea of keeping the loss to a minimum, 0-4 seems about right.
  6. Starting to get that feeling that he might have been our preferred choice but we are not necessarily his. Looking at Oddschecker this evening, there are some pretty ropey names linked to the job and Gerrard is worryingly low odds!
  7. A lot might say.... All players can have the odd good game where, probably by chance, they're in the right place at the right time to make a tackle, or swing a foot at the ball and it goes in the right direction, but no, he is a contributing factor to our decline. We got rid of him once to Bournemouth, but like a bad rash, he keeps coming back.
  8. From kicking the pitch instead of the ball in the first minute, to hoofing the ball back to Rambo without hardly looking, to giving away free kicks, to being nowhere near Vardy when he scored...and then not seeming to care. I agree. He was totally out or order. Should have been hauled off after 15 minutes. Perhaps nobody will come in to buy him but somehow we need to get rid. On loan somewhere. Anywhere. He can't be near our club next season.
  9. What I don't get is even if Rusk has no ambitions to be the future manager, he could want to be in the future set-up or at the very least enhance his own reputation. He comes in on the back of a 0-0 draw at Fulham and has a free hit. So why did he revert to such negativity and the Russball/5 at the back nonsense? Yes, we're a shit team but a lot of us recognise that and just want effort and positivity. Get the ball in to the opponents penalty area. All sorts of things can happen. Maybe to get rid of the negativity, they should be fined £1,000 of their wages every time they pass the ball sideways of backwards (granted Ross Stewart would have still been quids in, he only touched the ball 3 times today!)
  10. Playing 4 at the back makes us better. With Smallbone on, even the 4-4-1 formation looks better than the first half
  11. Can't Gary Birtles hear what our fans are singing?
  12. Got the 'B' team on commentary today. Hopefully they'll take the microphone away from the air-conditioning unit on my stream for the second half! Got to agree with Birtles, no point in changing the No9 if you don't knock it to him.
  13. Why can't the manager and players see it? Birtles is getting really frustrated with our crappy negativity and he hasn't has to watch this pile of shit all season.
  14. This is reminding me of Russ Ball...
  15. The pundit's been saying the players have been at full pelt...what's he been watching?
  16. Even he's had enough and wants out
  17. And sadly, if they're going to insist on 5 at the back, that's arguably the best team we can put out
  18. It is but it is also more entertaining. And que sera sera, maybe we're not going to Coventry. And maybe Frank is seeing what happens to Coventry before making a decision on his future.
  19. I always find it difficult to work out if a player is just extremely lazy or downright incompetent. When Archer first played for us, he looked like he had the presence to hold the ball up and could see an opportunity, but his last few appearances have been disappointing in the extreme. He's nowhere near the action, doesn't try and win the ball back and is generally only noticeable by his absence. I think he's just useless. Indeed, just another modern day footballer. More concerned about his hair and looking the part than paying back some of the fortune he steals as a living.
  20. I thought it was MLT who was banned from the Big Macs. You're right, there doesn't seem to be anyone banging in goals like Rickie Lambert was doing before we signed him, but our scouts should be looking at the Charlie Kelmans of these leagues and working out if they have the potential to move up a division. If a player has a natural touch and good attitude, much of the rest can be coached and with all the information at the scouts' fingertips, it shouldn't take them much time to build a shortlist of candidates. Like managers, there seems to be a revolving door for players. They have a good few months at a club and they're set for life. We must be able to find players better than BBD, AA and CA. They might also be hidden in other clubs' academies or are overseas but I still reckon we don't look hard enough in the lower leagues.
  21. Me too. I would not in the least be concerned if AA, BBD, Archer and Stewart never put on a Saints shirt again. In fact, I'd rather we fished around in the lower leagues and found another Rickie Lambert. In fact, I can't think of the the last time we brought in a striker from League 1 or below.
  22. I also thought Jack was ok for much of the game. When Sulemana was on the pitch, he gave us an out. Not a good one, but it was something. Bring on Dibling, whose value is decreasing by the week, and Smallbone and the game is lost. Watch their second goal and in midfield there's a massive Smallbone-sized hole and then look for Smallbone and you'll see him jogging back. Even among our team he looks really really shit.
  23. That's what I thought. Let's put a £100m price tag on him!
  24. So what would happen if we won say, four/five of our last games? It's highly improbable even if we still have Leicester & Fulham to play, but would Rusk then be considered for next season? I can't see it, but hey, it's SR in charge so anything is possible.
  25. I agree. Actually, looking back, it could have gone either way. The players came over pretty quickly and started clapping us. At that point, it would only have needed a few people to start booing and there could have been a chorus of boos. Instead people started clapping back. Can't put my finger on it, but our away fanbase seems to have changed over the last few years. Seems to be getting younger (or maybe I'm getting older), so there's something ironic about them all singing "I loved them as a nipper"....
