Not at all if Downes sits in, Lesley gives us more cover than Smallbone as well But Lallana surely will only give us an hour maximum even when fit, so Fraser could still play out left, wouldn’t complain if Taylor was LB either. Rather see BBD or Stewart central when fit, we have to have physical presence up front.
-
I think Taylor looks decent, he’s doing a solid job defensively and going forward well for someone who hasn’t played much lately.
-
Whatever you say, but as the number of our away fans has increased, I think the proportion of oddballs, knitting circles and gimps has increased as well. That can be said for a lot of clubs too as English football has been hijacked by embarrassing bellends and clones for the most part.

I would love Saints to have a loud and passionate following every week but that’s not really us if we’re honest is it? We need success to gee us up more so than most other teams. Since St Mary’s I can only remember a few games where I thought, fuck me our fans were great today. The cup run under WGS, a couple of league games in the same era, then a renaissance coming back up through league 1 and the championship, a couple under Pochettino and Koeman. Since then it’s been mostly utter shite except for last season. So we do have the capability, but success on the pitch is vital for the atmosphere. The drop off in variety of songs is a killer as well. We are known all over the land for only ever really singing one song.

It’s quite simple, Southampton is not really a proper football city, these days we have a few games a season with a decent turnout of chaps that are up for it which influences the crowd get behind the team, other than that most of our fanbase is out of towners, middle class men and women, youths and families from the surrounding areas who sing OWTS if saints are playing well. We will never be regularly as good as a lot of the northern or Midlands clubs, West Ham and Millwall etc but what annoys me is that we haven’t even got the football culture any more, whereas other southern clubs like Plymouth, Exeter, Bristol x 2, Cardiff, Luton, Gillingham, and unfortunately the skates still have it which translates into fairly decent atmospheres and loud away followings. Southampton is a working class city but the club has never really united it to pull in all the locals since the 80s. Like I said we can still do it when needed like in the play offs, or v the skates, or some other one offs, but the average home and, more lately, away turnout has always been flasks, blankets, tutting, cringeworthy banter weirdos, social misfits, groups of shouty middle aged women etc so whatever the stadium layout we will always have the same problems.

Probably for the best that he got the red and an 3 match ban, only ever been good enough as back up at this level. He is also not wise enough to be a captain and leader at the back, which is what the club have been missing ever since Fonte/VVD left

Amazes me there are still gimps who seem to hold today’s politicians in any sort of esteem, or anything other than comedic terms. What sort of dangleberry do you have to be to have any respect for 2024 house of commons helmets? “Hey, Ange is a raver, good lass lol” “LMAO at Ange clubbing guys, slay queen!” -
Highest profile Saints signing since Shilton?
-
Taylor is a LB but yeah they have jumped the gun with Wood, we must be looking to stick with a back 3 all season and use Wood and Edwards in the cups
-
How about that big mob you saw/heard down the Brewhouse on Weds night vowing to attack anyone that wasn’t white? What happened to that lot in the end?
-
The East End of London? Come on, every single area of the east end has a large Asian population, probably on a par with whites all told? And I agree no go zones are bollocks both sides, some areas are dodgy as fuck no matter what the racial make up but you can still go there. All the council workers etc do for a start.
-
Exactly, there’s been a couple or high ranking retired coppers who’ve given interviews admitting it’s at the back of their mind when dealing with non whites as the establishment come down like a ton of bricks on them if they fuck up, compared to if the perp is white

Bit early to tell that, early releases even for violent and sex offenders so we’ll see if the rehab works over the coming years. This is due to overcrowding which got worse under the tories of course so another thing they have to do is reform the prison system -
How do you know this? As in that they were at the Brewhouse giving it all that

White lower classes are fair game to stereotype and cunt off their lifestyle, the same people wouldn’t dare say shit about the other communities for fear of racism accusations. Scumbags are scumbags but a whole large group of people only have the balls to demonise white scumbags.
-
Try and calm down, an obsession with people to commit violence on your behalf is not healthy. By the way loads of the army are disillusioned with immigrants being given better accommodation and treatment than they get from the government. especially wounded veterans. Oh and by the way, you could well be right about the child thing, if anyone makes that statement about the black community publicly there is uproar.
-
At least the journos are seeing a bit of what actually goes on in a lot of inner cities. There have been plenty of sharp weapons on display but all seem to be on one side so far.
-
Absolutely, anyone waving a St George’s flag is clearly fascist scum

Most politicians from either side are not worth a wank. I’m amazed we still have the old “Tory this, Labour that” bullshit. Penis faced Starmer could’ve avoided a lot more riots by coming out after the Southport riot and saying something along the lines of “violence will not help these little girls and their families so it must stop and we will crack down and jail anyone involved in the trouble, but give us time as a government to fix the issues that the last government have left us” instead he came out and told the disaffected poor whites exactly what they were being told by the likes of Robinson- that the sneering elitist politicians put them at the bottom of the pile in this country and categorised them all as far right thugs. Especially off the back of Harehills where the govt said fuck all. this gave the REAL far right thug pricks a perfect excuse to get out there as well. -
Even the BBC has admitted that one protest in Bolton was peaceful until a big gang of masked up Muslims attacked it and the police. There are plenty of people going out with peaceful intentions who are just pissed off with legitimate concerns being swept aside and any concerns about unchecked immigration being called far right etc. However there are also loads of thick racist rent a mob types joining in. Starmer once again will be fuelling it with his comments today. He has behaved like an aloof, out of touch cunt unfortunately. Also on the BBC an ex police chief was trying to explain that the previous jncidents like the soldier stabbing have fuelled this environment but they cut him off as soon as he started talking about it! Fucking weird or what, no wonder people believe the two tier business.
-
Yeah it’s turned into loads of cunts just out for a summer riot now. tooled up Muslim mobs looking for blood in Stoke and Blackburn as well. I wouldn’t say Starmer helped the matter by stoking the fire talking about far right threats and protecting the Muslims after the initial disorder. Cool calm and sensible talk was required.
-
Personally I would say it’s because it’s the type of thing a cliched right on teenager or Student Grant would believe is the thing to be seen doing, as they are mindlessly parroting and obsessed with Americans due to media overload of anything that goes on there.
-
Lazy as fuck, their tone about vandalism and violence against the police during those riots was chalk and cheese to this week. And the subject of the riots this week was a bunch of little British girls as opposed to a criminal from the USA
-
The government seem a lot more rattled by the disorder over the last couple of days, announcing various new special police powers. Seem to recall Starmer and Rayner took the knee to side with the rioters in 2020
-
I said they seem to be- a case in point being the relegation of the story and minimal details of the serving British soldier’s attempted murder on his doorstep in front of his family, compared to the huge coverage and provocative talk show interviews regarding the man kicked in the head by that copper after they had attacked the officers. Also the mass hysteria in the UK media over George Floyd in the USA causing riots and attacks on the police here, when a little girl murdered by getting her throat cut randomly in a park by an immigrant around the same time received the bare minimum of coverage.
