If we beat Pompey with the new players making a big impact then we have made progress. For top 2 you need to score plenty of goals or grind out 1-0 s via possesion with solid defending.

Thanks, I normally do Saints Away travel as official allways sold out but they normally just have 2 coaches.

Agree JS will up for the game and he can get stuck in which players didn't do last season. I am concerned that all the new/non Saints connected players won't be that interested as in 'its a derby game'. It will be approached as a leaque game and not a win at all costs game.

Man U have same problem. Why cant keepers practice goal keeping instead of pushing ball out rather than catching, cover the near post and stop thinking they can pass the ball like an outfield player.

On paper we look good. I can't see players going in studs up, winning headers and running around. It will need to be a major transformation from the Wrexham and Stoke games. We looked like old men crossing the road look left, look right before moving. How on earth did the Stoke goalkeeper throw the ball through our midfield and back to assist a goal? Can you imagine the direct ball bombardment that's going to happen, we need to get some sort of defensive plan in place.

7.5/10 The Pompey game will be a good test to see how players cope under expectations and pressure. Need another rate the window after 4 games. A lot of the player before haven't worked out but then no real game plan and tactics. This time on paper we should be a better unit. Although a goal keeper and forward the two most important positions have not been added to.

Too many new players and no clear style of play goes against us. Also slow in build up allows tackles which we get turned over with ball a lot. On the plus side our players could come up with something like a brilliant free kick from no where in thd game. We are probably under dogs not having a good start or expected start given the team we have (had). We will have players targeted and hacked as that's thier style so hopefully some yellows and red cards for skates. I think we will try to make the game boring, slow, predictable to make it difficult to get any flow as that's how are players play. Just hope the new players decide to be creative and show what they have. Game has draw, Russball, safety first, written all over it. Needed a few games before this one for new players. It will be a fantastic atmosphere with Saints the better support as always. Difficult to predict score, can we raise our game and aggression, unlikely so I'm going with 0-0. Needs a change of tactics. If its a runner in behind the just feed the ball in to space. It will all change hopefully or the team can play several tactical options not just walking football from last season. At this rate won't be many in team from walking football. Don't ever get a replacement bus, they are always late by 45 mins, too many queuing up for 1 bus. Also if coach drivers are used for other events or matches like club away games rail networks won't have a coach. Trains are utter crap let alone a replacement service.
