Leeds did the right thing appointing a manager that can go in with no friends buddies or relationships. He has gone in to dictate and play football and do a job. I think they will ultimately be ok. We on the other hand have just gone back to a someone that is everyone’s best friend and all mates together. Cant help thinking it’s another Ole at Man U, Lamps at Chelsea, ect ect. Beer and skittles boys club. I’m sorry but we had to make an appointment that the players know there is a clear distinction between manager and player. Nothing wrong with Selles, fantastic coach. But that’s the point, a fantastic coach.

2003/2005 Home up there with the best. Collar made it a very hot, and a very uncomfortable shirt playing 5 aside 🤣 Tried to upload a picture, but got bored of trying.

We have a good squad that is more than capable of playing and staying in the Premier League for a good few years. If it’s positivity, motivation and reuniting the whole group that needs to be found, then JM is perhaps the right guy. If it’s the hairdryer treatment perhaps not. Without knowing the “behind the closed doors” I’m not sure what to think or who would come in. He would have to stay next season, what ever league that we will be for some sort of continuity however. (Providing he is the right quality of course).

Would enhance his reputation, albeit a romantic notion. Unfortunately for us we are run by a bunch of muppets who will continue to throw money at any mercenary looking for a payday.

Someone mentioned on here the Bobby Ewing moment. Very surreal few months.

We have a decent squad that can play some really good football given the right direction. It’s clearly the “lunatics running the asylum”

I don’t take any pleasure in seeing someone so clearly in need of some professional help. TBF both Stoke City should have, and us have a genuine duty of care here, Luton I don’t know. I am no expert but someone has to recognise that he needs removing from this situation for his own good. I mean this in a positive way and nothing to do with football.

Sunderland I think did it as well.

Nicola, Rickie, even Adkins in that era was great. L1 with Marcus was in hindsight a great re-set for us and ultimately got us to where we are. I would hate for SR to take us back because I just don’t think that the desire that Marcus and Nicola had is there.

Yes I meant NzzzzzJ but not (fell but Feel)

Oh well back in the club house for a bowl of chilli, or pasta and meatballs. A couple of beers with supporters and parents with the managers discussing the game. Can’t wait to hear NJ’s opinion. oh wait is this the Toolstation…………….. (I’m afraid that’s were NzJ belongs, I fell an idiot suggesting he was L1….)

Southampton(1) 1-2 (3)Newcastle - League Cup Semi Final - Second Leg

I can only think that the atmosphere, NJ’s words ringing in the players ears, then the selection has put us on the back foot from kick off. Players seem to be playing for themselves second half and managing the game on the pitch. Not good for NJ and staff confidence, especially when you get a coach sent off -

League 1 manager at best, I’m sorry to say. I have already said it, he still reminds me of a Kids Sunday league manager giving it the big I am. Surely he has lost the dressing room after this -

Problem is, there is this massive roundabout of managers and players that make it on to the 92 top table. They all go round and round the clubs spouting this spouting that, jobs for the boys. Get a great contract for three years or so. It takes a brave DOF, Chairperson or owner that says let’s look outside the fishbowl. There is so much talent in non league both managerial and particularly players that could make a difference. Too late for us now this season I fear to nurture and develop like we used to do. I’ve not given up yet , because I still think there are two teams that aren’t as good as us that will go down, I can’t see us being the third providing we give someone a chance.

I can only go on my opinion of what I see. I really didn’t have a problem with Ralph towards the end. ( It was only a couple of seasons ago if you believe the media that Man U were half interested in him). He is a quality manager that was trying to manage a team of youngsters and some could argue players that just aren’t good enough at this level. (Possibly the reason we signed so many Man City academy prospects with big sell on clauses because of him) He looked to me in the final few months tired and out of energy and ideas both in the dug out and in his press conferences. (I can only get to a few games, so others might rightly disagree). Almost like he needed a team of players that were seasoned pros that he could coach and try new ideas to out think and out play the opposition. He was sacked and we replaced him with let’s be honest at best a League one manager, not that there is anything wrong with that and I applaud SR for trying something different. I just think now it is probably clear that NJ just needs a hell of a lot of help and time which we don’t have. He appears to be struggling dealing with the big crowds, media attention and youngsters that rightly or wrongly are not used to lower league mentality. That is definitely not a dig at the bloke, just what appears to be the vibe at the club. NJ has tried and has had time to get across his ideas and blueprint. I just hope there isn’t a split in the dressing room, with almost half the season left. Again I still struggle to come up with a replacement for NJ if that is the direction we take. One thing I would take a new up and coming Manager, but homework first please like Palace, Burnley ect. Another Potts will do.

Dodged a bullet there. If we have someone around the Bristol area at a loose end. Need to drop into North Bristol and have a look at Aaron Collins, not the immediate answer I know but worth a punt I would suggest.

Great for Danny Ings. Well done he's moved on again for another really big, massive, huge club.................................................... 😁

Fantastic week. NJ’s tenure will of course end at some point. It’s just a matter of weeks, months or years dependant on results as always. His achievements in a very short space of time has probably given the bookies a complete headache. Half the games played, with another 25 / 27 points needed (if the narrative remains the same). He has a great forceful and full on belief in himself, which appears to be rubbing off on the squad at the moment. That is great as he is still (just about) in the honeymoon period. I hope that this doesn’t go pear shaped when the inevitable poor run of form happens for 2 or 3 games as with any team. To me he still comes across as an excitable dad running an under 10s grass roots Sunday league team. Telling everyone in the club house after the game how good he is. I hope I’m wrong, I really do and the last press conference shows me he is learning and beginning to understand that he isn’t dealing with teams and players in the EFL like he has upto now. The big lights scrutiny, big money and personalities I hope is beginning to sink in now. I hope he continues this weeks form, as ultimately this means the mighty Saints continue where we belong. COYR 👍👍👍👍

Saints 2-0 Man City - The Treble is STILL on!

Wow again. Game management spot on. What a game just unbelievable. Forest, Everton, Wolves, West Ham, Bournemouth, will all be a little uncomfortable tonight. -

Wow!!!!!!! Unbelievable what a half -
The wave effect away shirt is that bad, it makes it quite good I think. It will be one of those shirts that will be forever remembered (and probably worth a few quid by collectors one day).

I don’t know who would be a right fit at the moment. Either the cheap option which we appear to have taken, and I would have gone for Joey Barton if that is the experiment. Or an expensive top flight English or Foreign manager. Either way, I am struggling to think of a decent replacement for Ralph or the inevitable NJ at the moment. Just no to Smith, Lampard or any of the other manager of that ilk. I want to know what happened to the name on the piece of paper in the bottom draw for the next manager that we supposedly had. I do know the first thing I would do is bring back Nicola. This would not be happening under his watch.
