After their performance today, a certain three points. (Which way 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣) Battle of the Spanish Pep pretenders…………………….
-
Don’t want to give up hope just yet. But I can’t see any points coming from our last 7 games. At least we were in a good place to bounce up last time we were in the Championship. It looks to me that the team, owners off field, u23s ect ect aren’t equipped to launch a proper attack this time around. This could take years to get back, unless we sell up again.

Carrick for me. If he would make the move down south. Not just because of Boro, but he seems to go about his business under the radar. He seemed to have had a steady hand at Man U at the time.
-
Appear to be right up for this.

Unfortunately for us, Potter is now well above our league (excuse the pun). Plus will he want to swap one complete nutcase of a club for another one.
-
In fairness, he hasn’t had a lot of money to spend according to my city mates. ( wrong side of the river for me, let them sink to obscurity). Lansdown has been ploughing money into Sport Bristol. ( Rugby - Bears. Basketball - Flyers and soon to be Ice Hockey???? Even so players at his disposal, he has not covered himself in glory according to my “red mates”. Their fans expectations are huge given a billionaire owner, yet they won’t sack him and his incompetence. Up for discussion between there fans as why he hasn’t gone. But no I would not have him back., absolutely not.

It’s not just the next manager unfortunately. Our culture, identity, belief, and all those buzz words have gone. I was always a Cortese fan because of how the structure, process from top to bottom that created the right approach to everything. I’m sure that was the start of the “Southampton Way”. A cliche now I know., but at the time really worked. It comes down to the players frame of mind and what’s expected, ie coaches not accepting a sloppy pass or miss controlling the ball in training. ( the right driven coaches have to be employed and stick to these principles). If that happened you are on the bench on the weekend, you don’t play. If you want to play you absolutely don’t miss control or make a bad pass in training. These are the standards, and are non negotiable. If you want to play and if reports were correct back then, that they had personal mattresses and pillows delivered by van to away hotels, that commitment is on you. Players on their own had to get up and run, gym off their own back and not be told. Then you will get everything you need. Personal Fitness is down to the player, drive and ambition is down to the player. Coaching development, direction, positioning down to the staff , management and club. The right club culture, direction from the top, understanding of players and coaches needs. 100% this is the commitment, anything less both coaches, players, staff there is the door, find another club. That’s before we get to stats, moneyball, strength conditioning, food, mental conditioning ect ect ect

We were doomed the minute “David Icke” walked in the door. Those were the games where we should have picked up points and secured 17th minimum.

Rogers anyone…………………
-
I don’t know, but playing them at their place maybe just what helps us. Get their crowd on their backs early doors and giving DM a bit and there’s a good a chance of 3 points. Our only problem will be sticking it in the onion bag.

For me, the game is won or lost on the starting 11.

Marcus with his little camera taking pictures on the pitch, is my best memory. I wonder what he would do now in our position. Owe you a huge debt of Gratitude.

Absolutely right. I thought last night (long trip) that we played well. As we have all season TBF. We all know and I hope Ramus does also, that we dropped a massive bollock with NJ. (That decision alone imo has cost us a Premiership position next season). However not the same circumstances, but I still believe it made us a better club when we ended up in L1. (I don’t want to repeat it of course) A real reality check and reset. Marcus was 100% the reason we got back. If the worst happens, it should be a fantastic season, ( I’m not sure I can bring myself to set foot in Trash-ton Gate) But if we concentrate on football not spreadsheets, stats and of course a couple of real attacking front men. Another Burnley in the making.
-
Broken record I know. But any ability in front of goal from open play please. Not only from an out and out striker but from midfield or the wings defence anywhere………………. We can play football not doubt about that. In front of what counts, we just haven’t done it for years. I don’t want to use the crap football speak, but I will and say we have no identity or DNA. We can get out of this but clearly, “The Southampton Way” has lost its way. Yes I know we have had a change of ownership and plenty of Managers and Player changes. But surely our core mission statement that has worked only a few seasons ago needs to be revisited.
-
Our crazy season, got to take a point as a bonus. Can’t help feeling with a cool head and some confidence anywhere in an attacking position, that should have been 3.

Swirly Shirts are working 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
-
Let’s hope we wear our swirly waves kit🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣we need all the help we can get
-
I’m guessing Man U will see this as a free hit. We I guess will see anything other than 0 points as a bonus. Only both teams starting 11 on the day with give us any idea of how the game will go.

To be fair I like my omelette 1- 3 large eggs 2- Don’t whisk, use a fork 3- Medium heat 4- Crepe pan 5- Butter 6- Olive Oil 7- Salt 8- Pepper 9- Rest before fully cooked as will continue to cook off the heat 10- Splash of Habanero Tabasco 11- Chopped Parsley Extras could be 5 from Salami, Cheese, Tomato, Oven cooked, Grilled. There are a lot of ways to make an omelette. Picking out one ingredient or process is all opinion. Long way around saying it’s unfair to blame one part of the recipe for a crap omelette.

We are not a complete basket case of a team. We play some really good attacking football. I didn’t think I would say this Che has again played some great through balls knowing where his teams mates should be. He deserved a MOTM performance. (Still isn’t a finisher imo). Tajjuk makes the valid point, we just need 3 teams that are worse than us, which this season probably is going to be that difficult. The last couple of seasons I’ve been happy before a ball has been kicked to take 17th if offered. This season even more so.

I’m trying to work out if I need to be a Forest fan tomorrow wanting a 3 nil win.
-
I remember watching Bristol Rovers v Grimsby at Wembley for Rovers to get back to the football league. (Both my boys are Gas heads). I know it’s one game in a disastrous season. But to lose against a team who is set up for non league, div two just a few years ago, and still are now tbf. Should be a wake up call. Needs some really challenging questions around how long can the leadership team of the club continue on this Kamikaze vision imo. At some point this has to be picked up by someone, or one of our official Supporters groups, or Community Trusts.

Just we look like we could go into free-fall like we did under the Lowe era again.
