Honest question - Just how bad would he have to be before you change your mind. I think Bazunu is the worst keeper I’ve seen for us in the PL, and the stats seem to back that up. Mccarthy would instantly improve us IMO. (and I am not saying I rate him massively either.). It’s at least worth a try IMO. Confidence in the keeper can improve your defence.
-
Is Bazunu your grandson?

Normally I agree, and I would never boo myself. But I think booing Ely is actually a good thing. He makes us so much worse, if the fans make him unplayable then it will improve the team. I don’t know what he does in training but I genuinely think he’s one of the worst footballers I have ever seen at this level. Also, Arsenal fans booed Xhaka when he was shite and it let him know he was shit and had to improve. Unfortunately I don’t think Ely can improve. But we can hope.
-
I normally hate booing our own players, but seriously I am pro-booing Ely. If we make his position untenable, so he can never be picked again, it will only benefit the club. It’s unbelievable he’s on the pitch again. Unbelievable.

Just a mental line up, as usual. Will be amazed if we get anything.
-
Exactly this. For me it should never have been a pen. Yes he touched him, but the player doesn’t have a right to go down for that and VAR should have got him booked or diving. But I understand why it was given. They wanted an underdog story. The fact is we should have created and scored more. You can only control the controllables and we were outfought, outthought and outmuscled by a team that is barely league 2 standard. Its an utter, utter embarrassment and everyone involved with the club should be fucking ashamed.

I hope they all read it. Cunts.

Agree with this so, so much. In hindsight, Ralph protected the club from so much. He did a great job before he left, but more than that he was a true football man. I respected him, I trusted him and I liked him. I thought it was his time to go, and he played a massive part in where we are, but i took zero pleasure in it But without him, the true core of the club is exposed. And it’s fucking rotten. A bunch of useless money grabbing cunts who have destroyed the soul of the club. They have no fucking idea what it means. No idea about our history. No idea how to scout players. Basically no idea what it takes to be a PL club. The strategies that cortese implemented for us to get here are gone. The players that got us here are gone. The belief is gone. Replaced by mercenaries with zero heart or fight. Or any affiliation for the city or club We have barely any PL quality players in this team (JWP, KWP, Lavia), but worse, we have even fewer players that actually give a shit. There is nothing to support anymore.

I agree with the above about St Mary’s. Away games are the only games worth going to. St Mary’s is fucking dead now days. League one and championship, even with less people in attendance, there was a real buzz about the place, top banter and songs. Now it’s just fucking awful. We never score any goals to celebrate and the ones we do score get overruled by fucking VAR after ten minutes of standing there getting bored. Then even if we do score a goal, the oppo will score a late equaliser and then a last minute winner anyway. Stewards tell the home fans to sit down but let the away fans do whatever they like. Plus I can’t stand the team, I can’t stand the football, I can’t stand the Semmens and Ankersen and their disdain for the fans. It’s just a joyless, horrendous experience supporting this club at the moment.

This is without a doubt the worst Southampton team ever to wear the shirt. Biggest bunch of clueless cunts since 1885.

No words really are there

He’s shocking. I have seen better footballers on a Saturday team down the local park. problem is, the rest of our team is too.
-
I’d play 4-2-3-1: Mccarthy KWP ABK Salisu Perraud JWP Lavia Sulemana Alcaraz Edozie Paul Possibly DCC over Salisu but there isn’t much in it. Definitely not fucking Bednarek. Id be telling the wingers to get to the by-line and put it in the fucking mixer for once. And getting them to win free kicks for JWP.
-
The club is run by utter morons. Even the ones that have looked good have been played out of position, or dropped. What’s the fucking point?
-
Agree with this, plus edozie off the bench. Mind boggling that we have had 2 managers since the WC, and they haven’t played anything close to our best xi once.
-
Staggering that he hasn’t been dropped. Genuinely staggering. He’s appalling. Agreed with the above - probably the biggest reason we are where we are. Constantly in the wrong position. May as well not have a keeper as every shot goes straight through him. I reckon a season in the championship will do him the world of good. Which is lucky as that’s exactly where he will be next season.
-
Totally agree. For me our best attack would be Sulemana on one wing, Edozie on the other with Alcaraz or Stu at 10 trying to get close to big Paul’s flicks and pull strings. Yet we have never tried the most obvious best attack we have. Instead we persist with absolute melons that can’t kick a football like Ely. Yesterday was absolutely horrendous. I am still in shock at just how bad we were. The shop window idea above is a really good one, because yesterday was utterly embarrassing. I am still angry at how pathetic we are as a club. Difficult to stomach.
-
Today was absolutely soul destroying. After the hope of last week, and selles getting something out of the team, I started to allow myself to dream that we could stay up. Well.. that dream is gone. Today was as bad as it could possibly be. Inept. Horrendous. Pathetic. I feel sorry for Lavia & JWP. They battled hard, but as soon as they passed it to anyone except themselves, it was straight back at them. This is one of the worst Southampton sides I have ever seen. The 05 relegation side beats this team with ease. Most of this team are nowhere near PL standard, and have zero fight/heart. Embarrassment of a side.

Had to square paul there. Ffs
-
Bit better saints. Getting on the ball now and quieting their fans down.
-
He has an aura about him. He instantly has my respect as soon as he speaks & he seems like a man that knows exactly what he’s doing. A real breath of fresh air. If he can match his on-field performances with his press conference performances we have truly found an amazing manager... and what a story it would be if he pulls off a miracle and keeps us up.
-
So good to see Liverpool in the mud. Especially after their fans singing “oh when the reds go marching in”. Just like spurs the other day… get your own song

Comparing that video to NJs first club video - his David Brent impression - is like comparing a Fiat with a Ferrari

It’s so bloody nice to be looking forward to a game instead of dreading it. Going to be a tough game in a hostile ground but we can do them if we play like we did on Sat.
