That could be the best thing since sliced bread.

Not sure how people think this is a tough start, although of course at this time there are a lot of unknowns for the season to come. We don't even know how good our team/squad might be. But looking at these fixtures i would say; Wednesday newly promoted, might struggle as many do at the quite big jump up, especially with no new manager in place yet and only 6 weeks left for him to get them into shape etc. Norwich no idea what to expect from them this season but they have no big funds and thus i expect them to be mid table ish or a bit lower. Not gonna be top 6. Plymouth, like the Owls, as good as a season they just had, they will probably stumble a bit, but might get off to a good start with feel good factor. Not top 6. QPR got off to a good start last term but then slumped badly. Not top 6, but maybe they have a good start again. Sundarland, like a lot of teams who fail in the play off's, likely they will slump a bit this season and not be top 6 again. Leicester, might lose a lot of their better players and by all accounts have a limited spend budget. They might be bottom half. Ipswich, we should be winning these sorts of games. They will not be top 6. Boro, similar to Sunderland, they may have peaked this last season and not do so well. It is often the case in the championship i have noted. Leeds, toughest game of the lot so far as i can determine. All this said, pretty much totally unknown as i said at the beginning as we have no idea at all who we will have lining up for us and how good RM may or may not be. Nonetheless i am very excited for the season as we have something to play for. In the EPL we have nothing to play for other than survival.

So, by that rationale, is it not possible that some right wing conservatives can agree with some of their policies without being bigots, gammon's and right wing nutters?
-
Highly desired players are often snapped up early doors. I know the majority of people think JWP is the best in the world, but sadly he is far from it. This is why he is not being snapped up fast.
-
It is interesting you say that. One might also ask, why it is you cannot disagree with Labour views and policies without being labelled a bigot, racist, gammon right wing nutter. If we want to do away with labels, perhaps first we need to ALL stop using them?

I think one of the main reasons, if not the main reason is that PL clubs just don't agree with his SFC valuation. He simply is not that good, despite what many think. That is why there is no queue of clubs after him at 40-50m at this time. Yeah, someone might panic buy later in the window, but right now no one will pay that kind of money for him.

https://ibb.co/n13dhSh Nope, there was no lying, no selling and nothing at all to see. And none of them have back peddled after the event to say that they never said these things. The whole thing was totally run properly and there was no attempt to control or make money from it all whatsoever! PS. I have no idea how to embed an image.

Saints, Leeds, Foxes and Burnley to sue Toffees?
east-stand-nic replied to 31cc's topic in The Saints
Not a chance in hell of us winning. There is non way the EPL will allow us to win as it will belittle their league. They cannot allow it to be shown clubs have cheated. Most seem to agree with this. -
This is the point I have been trying to make but it seems to have had the wooosh effect on most asking me irrelevant questions back. The fact of the matter is very clear. The governments and elite took risks with their own health which they would NOT have done had this have been a really deadly virus. They knew it was not, hence the risks they took. This was simply an exercise/test to see how much control they can hold over the populations. Of course, only time will tell when they do it again, which they will in some sort of guise. And once again, the people in the main will happily give up their freedoms in the name of protection. Search for the video from the US senate meetings where a Chief exec of twitter admitted they were being run by the CIA and FBI etc., during covid. They admitted they were ordered to censor anything that went against the narative. That is a fact. Proven and admitted. Then ask yourself, why did they feel the need to do this?
-
So, self centered twats would risk their lives like this amidst a deadly virus outbreak, yes? There is a huge difference between being self centered and taking your life into your own hands. People like Boris are cowards, no way he would risk his own life for anyone. So, amidst the most deadly virus in 100 years, why would a self serving coward like Boris take his life in to his own hands in such a reckless way. The answer is very simple. he wouldn't, ever!
-
This is the point I am making. If it was so deadly and serious as to lock everyone inside, why did they act like it was not serious and carry on as normal?
-
Now, lets use some logic here. Put aside tin foil hats etc., and just use logic. IF the government KNEW this virus was deadly, do you believe they would have acted like this?

Quite perfectly said mate. This is the problem with 80% of the people I meet and talk to. They refuse to accept they might be wrong. I am open to both sides. Matt and his like may have some very valid points that may come to be true. Just as likely, they might be totally wrong. Who knows. It's a bit like flat earth theory and moon hoax. I have a mate who is well into it and he shows me his evidence etc. But, as I say to him, I don't really care. If the earth is flat, will I avoid cancer? Will I pay less tax? What effect will it have on my life. Bugger all, so who cares. That said, in the case of Covid, I do care because if they have been unethical with the truth and people are dying because of it, they should be held to account. My guess is we will never know.

Cannot see that myself. We paid way more for Adam Armstrong and Tella has proven himself better. If SFC sell him for under 20m then they are fools. Going by the rate other championship players have gone for, he is worth 22-25m I think personally.
-
And their GK, Paul Cooper. Unlucky to have been born in an era of so many great keepers or he would have got a lot of England caps.
-
Indeed. I do not want to get involved in threads like this as people are too myopic. They are either this side or the other and cannot see anything in between. But the economy in Germany is indeed in a bad way. I suspect that is just the way of the world and COVID lock downs. So, why are people so convinced the UK is suffering ONLY because of Brexit. It beggars belief that people can be so blinded by their political persuasions as to simply shut their ears and eyes to other probabilities. Anyway, said my piece. Wont be getting involved further as some of the characters and abuse in this section of the forum goes way beyond reasonable human behavior.

3-1 Brighton today. The usual goal from Alcaraz or perhaps JWP. Other than that, similar pattern of meaningless possession football and terrible mistakes at the back.
-
With West Ham safe and on the beach before their Euro final, and Sam in the Leeds dugout, you have to hope Leeds can get a win there. Not that i care so much but it would be cool to see Everton drop as they say that may scupper the takeover they have going on.

Should we have stumped up for Gibbs White
east-stand-nic replied to Andrew Watson's topic in The Saints
No, not with the 3 managers we had. Steve Cooper is better than the three we had combined, that is why some of his players have performed and none of ours have. There is something dreadfully wrong behind the scenes at SFC and some of it coming out now. New team, manager, DOF need to get in there and stop the negativity and losing ways before any player can have a good season for us. -
Jury out for me on this one. I can see the positives as aforementioned, but also the aforementioned negatives. However, he will be looking for a way back to make his name again, and I wonder if he is friends with Kompany and can get advice off him as and when needed. Being really negative, I hope this isn't out owners trying to be clever and thinking, well Burnley did well with a top ex player, so maybe we should do the same, assuming it will be OK.
-
Alcaraz for captain. Great player, seems to want to stay, so this might seal the deal for him. Plus he is South American and they are very passionate. Next season, build the team around him.
-
I suspect many Burnley fans said that at the end of last season. No reason to think we cannot bounce straight back up if we can keep some of these players and get a decent real football manager. For me, one of the biggest issues is that all our squad have had their abilities coached out of them. If we can get a positive manager and positive attitude back, confidence will grow and we can be great next season. AA scored pot loads in the championship and he can again, IF he is coached properly and can thus regain his confidence.
-
For starters he would not want to be here. He is a big time Charlie or so he thinks. He is not the sort of character that would do well at a club like this. I just cannot explain, but I know what I am trying to say. Mark my words, if he gets the job, he will fail here. Some times managers are suited to clubs. Sometimes they just aren't. I just hope it isn't going to be him. It won't work.
-
Brendan Rogers is not a Southampton Manager and I hope to hell we do not get him as he will not fit. Potter is much better for the long term goals and would be interested if we give him what he wants (not just money).

Massive game for Forest, not for us. Win and we are still down. The ship has long since sailed. Let's get ready for a promotion push and winning some games next season.
