Head of Scouting in the UK for Sport Republic and Saints is departing
  3. His account is followed by Kuryu Matsuki, but none of the other players in the squad. So the logical assumption is that Kuryu is the regular first teamer that still backs Eckert (either that or he just wanted to see what the fans think but didn't want to press Out in order to see the results )
  4. Because they remember how crap working for Will Still and Ivan Juric was? They actually did enjoy playing for Tonda and his approach to training and any new manager will always be a risk of a step back to that period
  5. Deleted his LinkedIn. Shithouse
  6. Yeah that could be a very valid question… 😬 All the more reason to sack all associated with it to show the club is getting its house in order
  7. I wouldn't mind betting that some clubs who could have involved themselves decided to keep out of the shitshow with the playoff final and see what happens I don't doubt that there's some opportunist execs out there around the league who might have seen that the precedent has been set at 3pts per game and now think they could stick the knife in and penalise a rival who have parachute payments
  8. I remember seeing a tweet from him where he admitted as much and then deleted it. He knows quite a few analysts as I am pretty sure that's what he used to do (now writes a blog on tactics/analysis for himself) He's been pretty clued up on what's going on with this saga right back to the day that Salt was caught out at Rockliffe so he does seem to have some sound info For balance, he has also got some stuff wrong (said there were up to 6 other games/clubs involved in the first hearing, when it just turned out to be Oxford and Ipswich) and seems to be an interesting character... but definitely has known what's going on ahead of things becoming common knowledge
  9. Everyone's favourite Watford fan (and friend/connection of Jason Taylor)
  10. The local Boro reporter was shown on Sky Sports on Wembley Way earlier and was saying 'Let's see what evidence comes to light... I can't say much more at this stage' - makes me think Gibson held something back for if we weren't chucked out, which he might now feed out to his press pals in the north east to put a fuck into a promotional rival for next season
  11. Boro reporter on Wembley Way earlier on Sky TV saying 'I can't say much more at this stage but let's see what evidence comes to light' - maybe Gibson will rage-release some additional dirt on Saints now
  12. Apparently Middlesbrough are going to carry on training from Monday morning in case Don Gibbo can play another blinder and get them a 4th bite at the cherry...
  13. 'I knew I should've just installed that fence'
  14. Cheer up Stevie G Oh what can it mean To a sad Boro bastard and your Shite football teeeeaaammm
  15. Never have two teams looked more ready for the Premier League
  16. Yes and it shouldn't stop with Tonda. The club needs to tidy up its reputation, firstly with its own fans and secondly within football, and that can't happen if there's a culture of just letting all of the amateurish stuff continue on with a shrug

    Phil Parsons

The written reasons don't reflect well on him. He's the CEO, regardless of the club's guilt it's his job to defend the club in the best way and mount a professional and well-composed response. He was caught off-guard from the outset and fumbled the whole thing, based on what we can read in that report Then you have the stupidity of confessing guilt to Gibson in the Riverside boardroom with witnesses in the room. Absolute ineptitude and arrogance when the margins for error were so thin
  18. Parsons should be clearing his desk too. Totally failed to defend the club adequately and kept stepping on rakes while we were under investigation
  19. Pannick was on the appeal for us. He wasn’t in the original hearing and ruling (when we were busy pissing around with this other stupid approach)
  20. Well the spy was an intern so the legal team being interns too would stack up
  21. EFL publish full written reasons: https://www.efl.com/news/2026/may/21/efl-statement--written-reasons-relating-to-southampton-fc/
  22. Pretty damning line for Saints on the compliance/admin front in the newest Guardian article: Eckert, who is battling to hold on to his job amid a Football Association investigation into the conduct of individuals at the club, has argued he did not realise what he did was against the EFL’s statutes. Southampton gave a detailed briefing in pre-season to Eckert’s predecessor, Will Still, explaining the competition’s rules. They did not do the same for Eckert after he replaced Still in early November. -- How is a club secretary/compliance manager/other admin staff member not taking a rookie manager through the requirements of his role and the requirements of the competitions he will be leading the team in?
