  1. 30 years ago today we were stuffing the skates 3-0 at the Dell in the FA Cup. Other than TCWTB playing with his clanger their fans were by far the quietist bunch that visited that season. Trying to find some light relief from the shower of shit we call our football club these days. ….and good news about Brooks…… #tumbleweed
  2. Yeah, it strangely used to add something watching a game on a white frozen pitch and an orange ball, did little for the quality of play but made for a different experience. A regular occurrence in the 70s/80s. Fortunately I can only remember being on the road once when a game was called off when we were on the way to Wolves in the 70s and found another game on the way back. Now 2,500 sold for this Saturday, fingers crossed for those travelling.
  3. There's around 75 tickets available on the OS but I'd guess the two blocks past the available seats haven't been put on sale yet. Would guess around 2,000 sold so far and following straight after another long trip to MIddlesbrough can't see the full 3,000 being taken up. These are on general sale, can't see your Donny address being an issue for buying online tbh. https://tickets.southamptonfc.com/selection/event/seat?perfId=10229155095219&ot=0&gtmStepTracking=true
  4. Maybe not - regular thing in the area apparently https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/25731157.southampton-fc-fans-cars-stripped-thieves-near-st-andrews/
  5. I remember that and other Boxing Day matches quite fondly from the early 70s. Anytime I smell the aroma of a cigar takes me straight back as so many had them stuck in their gobs at those games, along with a splash of Brut or Old Spice. Good times.
  6. There's around 70 tickets available on the OS https://tickets.southamptonfc.com/selection/event/seat?perfId=10229144644862&productId=10229001095987
  7. This might help? https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/saints-tickets-app-update https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/25711977.southampton-fc-issue-important-ticket-update-ahead-coventry-clash/
  8. Yeah at both of those, 20 goals in the two games, different times. The 5-5 was the same evening that HMS Sheffield was sunk in the Falklands which overshadowed any enjoyment. Soon after I first started going we'd lost 7-0 at Leeds and 8-0 at Everton. Should have put me off for life!
  9. You can see how this would escalate if we got back to the PL. P&O have clearly been allocated ’x’ amount of tickets for every game as part of their sponsorship and they’re probably not particularly bothered if they’re taken up or not. It’s their entitlement and I’d imagine they’re not handing them back as their clients may decide last minute to use them. It’s the same with home games too, I’m a member so go on to buy tickets and regularly see blocks show as sold out but then have the same empty seats most weeks.
  10. Songs and our support are not happy bedfellows. I noticed our fans singing something recently and expected it was going to be about Leo Scienza - “When the Samba rythmn starts to play…” - he’s Brazilian, it’s a Brazilian dance so kind of made sense. Unfortunately they were singing it about….Tom Fellows
  11. So what's the thing with this triangle of missing seats?
  12. Boys From The Blackstuff was another excellent bit of TV.
  13. Being a nipper in the 60s/70s some of my best TV would have been stuff like Budgie, Kojak and Starsky and Hutch. And I remember the Black and White MInstrel Show regularly being on in our house, that would go down well today..........
  14. It would have...and so would have the one just a bit before that
  15. Just about covered above but would also chuck in Snowfall (start of LA crack scene), Money Heist (Spanish) and Vikings, all became compulsive viewing in our household for a while. Back in the day (early 80s) I used to like getting back from the pub midweek with my Chinese takeaway and switching on Hill Street Blues. Never seen it since so don’t know if it stands the test of time “…and remember, let’s be careful out there”
  16. The club up to its usual tricks of holding back tickets for staff but rarely fully taken up for distant fixtures. A very late number of seats have become available again despite this game selling out weeks ago. https://tickets.southamptonfc.com/selection/event/seat?perfId=10229133141354&choiceSelectionDone=true&productId=10229001095987
  17. I think he’s being a little generous there, if we’re gonna knock the second half performance (and it wasn’t good) then we should knock the ‘support’ too. I was expecting a real buzz around last night, but 75% of the ground was its usual comatose state and the Northam rarely got going together, mostly one side singing one thing and the other something completely different. I’m not overly worried about the ‘singing’ but more about just making some noise and roaring the team on a bit more. We’re now making it a fortress regards results but nothing like an intimidating place for visitors.
  18. Yep, we should be worried Storm Brom is heading this way....ah, stand down stewards, it's Storm Bram not Brom. As you were.
  19. That corner of the ground is going to look pretty sparse with just a few aways rattling around in there plus the half empty blocks either side. Around 2,000 home tickets still available, looking like around 27k tonight as it stands.
  20. I’m sorted now, phoned up and queried it but issue should be rectified now if booking online. Log in and it will now apply the discount.
  21. I remember us being at our best under Ralph during lock-down, Ings was bang on form, the Norwich away game springs to mind as being particularly a joy to watch.
  22. Anyone been able to apply the £5 member discount to this, trying to book tickets but doesn't appear to be including the discount
  23. I also recall, from several years ago, manji having an irrational dislike of Mike Osman and regularly sent abuse his way and towards, I think it was, his brother who posted on these boards. But tbf, I read his posts with interest as he seems to be a bit informed with regards the intentions of Dragan Solak. Maybe wrong but I get the impression that’s where his loyalties lay rather than with SR and trusts that Solak intends on delivering an improved St Mary’s stadium and surrounding area. Unfortunately SR keep fooking up the immediate important bit on the pitch.
  24. Took a few days but you eventually got a couple of bites (#35, #38) https://millwallonline.com/forum/threads/wall-v-southampton-match-thread-3pm.57999/page-2
  25. I don't disagree, it would be very harsh not to get the job if he makes it another straight win today, against a decent side and think he probably would deserve it. And it's more the way he's so quickly transformed a bunch of faltering players into a dynamic attacking force. Just saying in "an ideal world" you could afford to wait and see how it pans out but it doesn't really work like that in the 'real' world.
