  1. I also have somewhere, my old 70's autograph book, which contains all the usual Saints legends, and includes Ossie and Stokesy. There is no player in there from the 80's 90's or beyond. Painey's in there as well. I could do with a bit of cash at the moment, so any offers to make me go and turn the house upside down to find it?
  2. I'll say this having run the line for kids games and doubting a few offsides that I gave, and didn't give.....I looked it up on a website, and allegedly, a linesman has one tenth of a second to make a decision, hence the human error element. Apparantly, with regard to interfering with play, a player really either needs to be on his mobile to his missus or tying his bootlaces, to be considered not to be interfering with play. If he so much as farts in the direction of play, he is interfering with play.
  3. Also, I definately suggest either putting tiles back or a glass splashback. The reason for this is to create a wipeable hygenic surface, as all kind of lurgi congregates around there, and as food is prepared there, unless you want to run the risk of getting the threepenny bits on a regular basis. Unless you paint with Eggshell around there, tile it!
  4. You clearly possess all the qualities and attributes to make a career politician! ie you are phucking useless! 6 hours to remove tiles? Have you heard of a Lump Hammer and Bolster? Should be done in 20 mins. A screwdriver to remove tiles? What do you use for undoing screws? A garden rake? You should be able to tile directly on top, but if the surface is excessively rough, you may have to put a bit of bonding on there to even it out. I recommend the Readers Digest DIY Manual available from WH Smiths or one of those B&Q DIY books. FFS get it together!
  5. Mick Channon, Bobby Stokes, Alan McLoughlin......are the obvious ones.
  6. There is one from Kenya......although a naturalised Swede. its Martin....surname escapes me. Will probably be playing at Wembley on Tuesday.
  7. Get it right or you're dropped! We're top of the League now and have no time for namby pamby excuses. Things have changed!Get with it!
  8. Sorry David, I'm not having that! I don't care whether its Anders, Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha or Frida......when the requirement is to close down, I expect everybody withe the exception of the No7, to close down......and promptly! If the ball is sailing over his head, he either needs to jump or chase after it!
  9. Where does he get his hair cut? The place should be closed down! It looks like someones had a go with one of those hedge trimmers...or a chainsaw!
  10. Best probably got his backside properly kicked somewhere on the way, which woke him up! A lot still to be said about the "Old School" motivational techniques!
  11. He was Dracula's dog... in the Blockbuster....Zoltan...Hound of Dracula!
  12. Fact of the matter is that if we make it to the Prem, and he is banging them in as regurlarly as he has in the Championship and League 1.....he can't be ignored.
  13. Good point David....just hope the moneys not in a Greek Bank!
  14. I would rather chuck a few million more towards the Academy. I'd employ a few of those Spanish Coaches and get a good bunch of kids ready to take the Premiership by storm!
  15. 20 - 40 mill equates financial disaster in the event of immiediate relegation, and potentially a valid reason for the Liebherr family to walk away from all this football club owning malarkey!
  16. Hmmm....interesting thought and a good subject for debate. The Club needs a steady stream of talent coming through the Acadamy ranks to balance the books, with regard to transfer sales revenue and also to stop potentially expensive forays in the transfer market, as has historically happened through previous Club administrations. I don't expect this to change. I can't see on promotion to the Premiership that the Club will be tabling bids for Barcelona's best talent. We will retain our status as the perennial underdogs!
  17. Noticed a rumour that Pardew will table a £5mill offer in January.
  18. Depends how much he's being paid..............it can also be a tactical option if there's a few nuts Rickie can't crack!
  19. gerry o'brien.......buster crabbe..........
  20. Anyone remember when Rooney signed for Man U........Sir Bobby stating that there was no way United were buying him, and that they were more than adequatly covered in that department. I expect an announcement soon.
  21. At this stage of the game...top of the league..it makes perfect sense to look and acquire quality cover options. Beattie has the credentials and experience to provide just that. No sense in alerting all the other contenders to his availability. Good move. Looks like its happening. I am sure the Don has it under control.
  22. I wondered if anybody knew the matchball pressure that the balls (championship - Mitre Tensile - Size 5) are inflated to. I have heard it can be 12psi, but that really is like kicking a brick. Anyone know for sure?
  23. Not as simple as that unfortunately. He will require Hard ground boots as well as soft ground boots, a decent pair of Astro Turf trainers and a set of shinpads. Remember that when running, the feet can swell up to one size larger, but but boots that are too big, and that will impede his ball striking technique. I also suggest a decent pair of mesh trainers for indoor football. You're looking at around the £120 - £150 mark, on a yearly basis.
  24. Eh.....Fat Boy Le Tiss....the only freebie you gonna get from me is da nose job with my right hook!
  25. I do enjoy observing posts debating politically and racially sensitive issues and the Mods jumping up and down threatening infractions!
