  1. Well we've had no power for over 9 hours now, and have been given no idea when it might come back on. The weird thing is that it didn't go off until after the storm had passed by.
  2. Can he be eligible for England given he's played for France at all levels from u16 to u21? What are the rules?
  3. Was this before or after you said ....."Turkish (!) : "Is that not the point? no on really knows what he is. Hes played centre back, central defensive and attacking midfield and wide attacking midfield this season and been pony in all of them. Not got the pace for the wide midfield positions, the skill for attacking midfield or the aggression for defensive midfield. His stats say it all, he contributes nothing. To squander £1.2m on a kid when the club is in serious financial woe is just plain folly and in Lowes top 5 blunders" ......?
  4. Lallana definitely got the final touch for the goal, but he was man of the match even without that. BBC shows us as having 54% possession and more shots than United. 2 points dropped?
  5. so what's the evidence for or against these contradictory statements? I'd love to be able to prove to my Portsmouth 'friends' that they were overspending on wages again.
  6. the Mail says 'for being white'. Other sites say for being new. Eg http://www.parentdish.co.uk/2013/02/15/boy-9-hanged-himself-because-of-bullies-claims-heartbroken-family/
  7. Really? I thought he simply didn't have a bat!
  8. Amazed they took the risk of being sued by one of the customers!
  9. Serious question---- if you take out out of the equation the parachute payments and the money going out to ex-players etc, and just look at this season's normal income and current players' wages and the costs of running the club day to day, are they breaking even ,or are they running up fresh debts?
  10. Sorry to see him go so early. Thought there'd be weks more fun to come yet before . The man's a clown, as well as being a fascist. Nice quote I heard recently though --- "You can say what you like about Mussolini-loving Di Canio, but at least he got the players to train on time"
  11. This. A draw would be a good result but would much prefer it to be a score draw with Osvaldo getting off the mark.
  12. Where do you get 8% from Turkish? The ONS figure is 1.5% gay or bi-sexual.
  13. It is far too early to make a proper judgement, but I share the slight anxiety expressed by others on this thread. MP may yet give us an exciting season of excellent results, but at the moment I found myself thinking at the end of yesterday's game: --- Are we really any better now than we were under Adkins? If MP's presence means we can sign players that wouldn't have come under Adkins, that only matters if those incoming players are top quality, but for example, is Wanyama actually any better than Cork? Does Osvaldo look like our record signing, a star player, or just another 'ok' forward? Why did we buy Ramirez for so much money and on such high wages if he's not good enough to play? (not to mention the Forren farce) How long will Nicola wait before he wields his axe again? As I say, far too soon to give fair answers to questions like that, but .......
  14. Other people.
  15. Hall claimed at the time of his blog that he wasn't worried about threats of a court case. McInnes had promised to underwrite his legal costs if necessary. And then there was a fighting fund started as well. And then he was given a job at PFC as a reward for hs blogs, that I suspect pays pretty well. So it is hard to believe that a legal bill of £15-20k will now bankrupt him. The News article makes it sound as if he won his case but the other side won't pay the costs they're supposed to. In fact the case never got to court, and costs have not been awarded. Hall's costs are merely those of using an expensive lawyer to prepare for a possible court case that never proceeded.
  16. Don't know who the bloke 3rd from the left on the front row is, but his barber has a sense of humour!
  17. Bah! Rome .. it's full of old ruins!
  18. On the money these footballers earn he could live in London itself and be flown by helicopter to training each day!
  19. Thanks for putting up that link. Couldn't get any live stream to work yesterday.
  20. Quite. And the article says, "It would be worth £500,000" IF they could prove that, which implies they never have,so it is just an unsubstantiated claim. There are more artefacts around supposedly made with oak from HMS Victory than there were "pieces of the true cross" in the middle ages
  21. Interesting that Lallana is 'one to watch' in contrast to the criticism many on here give him.
  22. But that must mean your version of the forum is only half the size the rest of us see!
  23. They've been known as the tigers much earlier than 'recent times'. I lived there in the early 70’s and it was very well established as their nickname then. I imagine it goes way back, to whenever they started playing in black and amber stripes. However there is a huge difference between a nickname and an official name. Their fans won't be happy.
  24. With the exception of the mammoth Pompey takeover thread, I agree with you.
