  1. But it that's the thing. They've been fed the propaganda from Factless Allen and his like for so long about being 'a massive club' with players 'desperate to play in front of such passionate fans' ,etc. many of them actually do believe that.
  2. there are about 8 decent ones!
  3. It's one thing to play yoshida or Hoiveld , but both together is pushing our luck.
  4. For me the cup was about little clubs playing ,and occasionally beating top clubs. That is only exciting when you are one of the little clubs, not one of the top clubs getting humiliated -- and when the top clubs field players you've actually heard of. Now that we are the potential fall guys and premier league clubs play their reserves, the cup is a shadow of its former self, at least until the later rounds when even the big clubs start to take it seriously.
  5. I noticed at the Chelsea game that Adam still went to the ref several times, as he often does, but then usually he is captain. Wonder if he remembered that he wasn't in the last 2 games. Clattenburg has some 'history' doesn't he?
  6. Thanks to whoever took notice of this. Have how been reinstated it appears.
  7. At least you've got the choice mate. My annual £5 was paid by Paypal in mid December, but I've been relegated to 'registered user! status nonetheless, so I can't make more than 3 posts a day now! And my messages via the 'contact us' link are being ignored. And of course I can't now send a PM! Anyone able to contact one of the administrators for me directly please? Or maybe just forward this message to one of them as a PM?
  8. it wasn't that he got beaten at the near post in the normal sense. Their striker fooled him into diving the wrong way. Thought Kelvin had a cracking game today. Boruc is clearly the better keeper long term ,but KD didn't let us down in any way.
  9. One for Dalek! Past life indiscretions could see Glenn Hoddle punished with Spurs job http://newsthump.com/2013/12/17/past-life-indiscretions-could-see-glenn-hoddle-punished-with-spurs-job/
  10. As others have pointed out, that attendance figure will include all ST holders, whther they went or not, and they sold a lot of STs , on the crest of the propaganda wave of becoming the bestest fan-owned club in the universe. NEXT season's attendance figures will be the real test, once L2 reality has sunk in.
  11. Eh? History's not one of your strong points is it, Barry?
  12. Nice quote. 'Everyone better than average' is the call from a surprising number of people who really ought to listen to what they are saying. I've met Gove a couple of times. He is one of those politicians who says what his audience at the time wants to hear, so is often popular ..... But then he actually does something different anyway.
  13. I had a similar misconception about Forward Magilton.

  15. When I saw this, I genuinely assumed it was one of us taking the ****. What planet does that man live on?
  16. But surely by the time we could get Casillas, Boruc should be fit again? It's not as if we could play him now, when we really need him. Presumably Casillas would only come if he were promised to be first choice keepr, even over a fit Boruc. Result ... ****ed off Boruc, which could lead to trouble come the summer transfer window. .... no more Boruc? Is he better than Boruc anyway? Genuine question.
  17. Or to put it yet another way, we had a total of 9 brits on the field at some point in the game. City had one.
  18. What about the average age too? With Gazza in for Boruc, we must have one of the youngest teams in the PL surely?
  19. What's in it for Coppell? No wage apparently.
  20. "current" premier league manager. Of course, they've only spoken to them . I once spoke to an ex-prime minister. That didn't mean he was going to work for me.
  21. Not as cynical as some of our supporters
  22. One solution not yet suggested is to let Scotland go independent, then simply invade and take it over again. What sort of defence force could a country with 5 million inhabitants have? Then we could simply help ourselves to the oil etc, without sending hard-earned tax money up there from the economic powerhouse of the south of England.
  23. Amazing nonsense being spouted on question time at the moment .... And why on earth do the BBC think a random mediocre singer is a sensible panelist?
  24. Nice line. I'd been seeing it more like a bloke saying he wants a divorce but wants to keep on living in the family home, seeing the kids, getting his cooking and washing done for him, maybe even still having sex occasionally with his ex-wife and knowing he can rely on the shared bank account if he loses badly on his betting .... But he'd have his independence!
  25. There are some interesting figures here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-24866266 So much depends on the oil ...how much is left and what proportion would go to Scotland. With no oil revenue an independent Scotland would be ****ed financially. There seems to be at least 5 years worth of good income left ... Maybe a lot more. if it is only 5 years, there will be some nasty changes to tax and public spending in year 6! But even if there is enough for 10 years or even 50 years, independence is forever, not till the money runs out. i see the scots are still living up to their image btw. They spend less that the rest of the UK on everything other than alcohol and tobacco .... and unsurprisingly, die younger!
