It is far too early to make a proper judgement, but I share the slight anxiety expressed by others on this thread. MP may yet give us an exciting season of excellent results, but at the moment I found myself thinking at the end of yesterday's game: --- Are we really any better now than we were under Adkins? If MP's presence means we can sign players that wouldn't have come under Adkins, that only matters if those incoming players are top quality, but for example, is Wanyama actually any better than Cork? Does Osvaldo look like our record signing, a star player, or just another 'ok' forward? Why did we buy Ramirez for so much money and on such high wages if he's not good enough to play? (not to mention the Forren farce) How long will Nicola wait before he wields his axe again? As I say, far too soon to give fair answers to questions like that, but .......

Hall claimed at the time of his blog that he wasn't worried about threats of a court case. McInnes had promised to underwrite his legal costs if necessary. And then there was a fighting fund started as well. And then he was given a job at PFC as a reward for hs blogs, that I suspect pays pretty well. So it is hard to believe that a legal bill of £15-20k will now bankrupt him. The News article makes it sound as if he won his case but the other side won't pay the costs they're supposed to. In fact the case never got to court, and costs have not been awarded. Hall's costs are merely those of using an expensive lawyer to prepare for a possible court case that never proceeded.

Don't know who the bloke 3rd from the left on the front row is, but his barber has a sense of humour!

Bah! Rome .. it's full of old ruins!

On the money these footballers earn he could live in London itself and be flown by helicopter to training each day!

Thanks for putting up that link. Couldn't get any live stream to work yesterday.

Quite. And the article says, "It would be worth £500,000" IF they could prove that, which implies they never have,so it is just an unsubstantiated claim. There are more artefacts around supposedly made with oak from HMS Victory than there were "pieces of the true cross" in the middle ages

But that must mean your version of the forum is only half the size the rest of us see!

They've been known as the tigers much earlier than 'recent times'. I lived there in the early 70’s and it was very well established as their nickname then. I imagine it goes way back, to whenever they started playing in black and amber stripes. However there is a huge difference between a nickname and an official name. Their fans won't be happy.

With the exception of the mammoth Pompey takeover thread, I agree with you.

Wasn't that because his then wife didn't want to move?

But the results are all sent out electronically now, so there's no issue getting them sent out across Scotland. Just a historically different habit I suppose.
-
Do Scottish schools get ther results a week before the studetns then? Why? That's not the case in England-- they come in to English schools just the day before. English universities do get them a week in advance, but there are never any leaks.

Huh! We in the proper middle class play real tennis. Even the OP using the term 'Bompey' shows that it is Portsmouth who remain our rivals , not the mostly harmless few on the Dorset coast. PFC in whatever latest incarnation, and in whatever league (or non-league ) they play will always be the team to loathe.

Allen does seem to spend a hell of a lot of his time being an internet warrior. Might explain why he doesn't do any actual journalism!

Note also the short-sleeved short that is too small for him to do up the top button. It's all part of his "I'm just a fan like the rest of you plebs" image -- unlike the champagne. Btw, perhaps Nicola would lend him a better watch if he asked nicely?

It doesn't say that doesit? Says he out a pic of a speedo at 125 mph last year, but nothing to say that wasn't within the speed limit

I think you're forgetting how poor the standard of Scottish football is. Take out Celtic (and the Rangers of old) and any decent English championship team would win that league.

Islam ( and indeed Judaism, and even some strict christian sects) forbid charging interest on loans, and gambling. (See 'usury') Cissé's stance made little enough sense given, as you say, he apparently had no problem with their sponsor last season. Though he might argue that responsible lending bank/company is not as immoral as a payday loan company. However, his also reportedly frequenting a casino makes his position farcically inconsistent.

Personally I wouldn't dream of using my mobile for any financial transaction or purchase, or indeed anything that gave access to more than my emails at worst. Using an i-phone for example to access your bank account or for this 'proximity payment' they are pushing now, is asking for trouble IMO. Not that even my approach is totally secure of course. Someone could use my email to, for example, try to get my bank to send login details as if I'd forgotten them. But chances are a hacker will go for an easier target first.

That's what he's trying to say, but actually what it shows is that a game against Portsmouth simply does not interest Bournemouth fans. Afer paying £60 to watch one of the best teams in the world , for any Bompey fans to turn up to see the pompey game was remarkable.

But in Wanyama's case it is his chest measurement.

Those of us who have been saints fans for more than 5 minutes remember that it is not so long ago that we called them scummers. This skates/scummer nickname divide is relatively new anyway.
