It's hardly a surprise after all the stage-managed leaks that Liverpool have reportedly made a bid. That does not necessarily mean that .saints will accept it, even if Adam is interested. when you look at the fees paid for the likes of Fellaini, Mata, and just about any unpronounceable foreigner at Chelsea, the price for one of of the top attacking players in one of the top leagues in the world should be close to £40 million, especially when you remember that Adam would be a 'home grown' member of a squad. I haven't seen the £20 million figure that others in this thread seem to have picked up on, but if that is the bid, it is too low. Have Liverpool got enough cash to afford him - unless they sell Suarez of course? in any event I would be gutted to see AL go. He is "our" players in a way that few others are. We've been through the tough times and the good times together. If he wants to go, then so be it, but it would be a shattering blow to the morale of the club ... players, manager, and supporters.

England World Cup Squad - Lambert, Lallana and Shaw included

Particularly impressive given the speed he runs at ! -
And meanwhile the press are reporting that Man U has made an offer for a German left back instead http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/472687/Man-Utd-have-made-an-offer-Schalke-s-Sead-Kolasinac-braced-for-Old-Trafford-switch it seems to me that basically no one knows anything definite.

If we got £30 million, and were able to spend it all on new players, AND spent it wisely, we have a stronger team next year than this. However, our record in the transfer market recently is so poor that I doubt we'd spend it wisely. Let's face it of all the big buys we've made lately only Lovren has been a complete success. Even big Vic is arguably not as good as the player he was apparently bought to replace . Ramirez has been so so. And as for Osvaldo, Mayika, Forren....

Have they seen any big expensive yachts on the Birmingham canals then?

it never stops mate. Nor will you ever stop worrying about them. My advice is from now on make it all *very* clear.... Is it a loan or a gift? How are you making things fair for your other children? And and definitely write it all down and get them to read and sign what you write. That may have little legal status but it will save any potentially nasty family arguments later on.

In all this speculation. Few seem to be discussing whether poch would want to go to Spurs. I am not naive enough to think he would stay with us if a big club came calling, but Spurs... .? ok, a bigger club than Saints, but not a top 4 club are they? Basically spurs are one of the PL''s "almost" clubs Why would he commit himself to them for the necessary 2 or 3 years rather than wait for Aresenal or Man U or a big foreign club in say 1 more year?

I still think them making it safely to the end of this season, then being relegated *next* season is even more fun.

I stand corrected re suicide rates. Guess I was thinking of Finland, which I know is peripheral to Scandinavia and not usually taken to be part of it. Or maybe I was thinking of Sweden having a high suicide rate because that is something I grew up believing . See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_in_Sweden It *was* very high. Either way I should have checked my facts However the neo-nazism in Sweden is something covered a lot in the media. See a few links below I found in seconds. Features a lot in Henning Mankel's books too! http://www.independent.co.uk/news/sweden-is-hotbed-of-neonazism-1336125.html http://rt.com/news/sweden-anti-racism-rally-648/ http://edition.cnn.com/2013/12/15/world/europe/sweden-nazi-attack/ http://www.socialismtoday.org/46/sweden.html

I'm against what Wilshaw said, and have respect for the Scandinavian system , but I'm surprised by what you say about its effects as children get older. I thought there was a growing problem of youth crime, neo- nazism, etc in Sweden in particular. Is that not the case? Genuine question. It's certainly true that the Scandinavian countries have higher suicide rates than Britain, so so something there ain't perfect.

So we're spending nearly as much on the training ground as we did in building St Mary's . Makes you think!
-
Today's media gossip has Everton wanting Remy for £10.5 million, because they don't want to pay the £20 million Chelsea will want for Lukaku
-
Look on the bright side. They can relegated next season. PFC - the gift that keeps on giving
-
There was also an article about him in last weekend's Sunday Times, in which he said something like "if I spend all my career at Saints, that will have been a successful career", with a strong implication that he plans to stay here as long as he can.
-
Well St Mary's cost around £1000 per seat when built. Allowing for inflation and the higher cost of alteration compared to new-build, an estimate of £1500-£2000 per seat to expand one stand doesn't seem unreasonable.

70%possession to saints, and ironically we score on the break from one of the few Palace attacks

In the absence of MLG, I feel I have to point out that your post was about 14 pages too late to be fin de siècle. But at least you didn't "go over the top."
-
As I said when wilde was involved with. Saints I had dealings with his company years ago and would never deal with him again

Interesting yes. Thanks for the link. I scored 89%. Didn't say yes to any non-words, but missed some genuine ones according to them. Though since they send you to an American dictionary for any definitions, I am not entirely convinced they are using English English so to speak.

I've been on here since Noah's flood, and yes that's true. However there has been a tendedny recently for a handful of posters to dominate nearly every thread in a way that didn't use to happen to the same extent. I've got nothing against you Glasgow, nor Barry Sanchez/Dune or Turkish, and I wouldn't accuse you of trolling, but the 3 of you really do need to get another life! Never mind the content, the sheer number of posts you 3 make is just way over the top.

Have the military changed their flight paths ???
Ken Tone replied to Marsdinho's topic in The Lounge
The chinooks from Odiham seem to have busy and quiet phases. We see very few for weeks then we get several each day for weeks. They fly bloody low over my house .... Makes the windows rattle! i suppose it depends in their training schedule and when personnel are due to go out on tour. I'd resent the noise more but for the fact that those poor buggers need the practice if they're going to Afghanistan or similar . So good luck to them. Whereas the inconsiderate gits from Popham who fly over in noisy little private planes and seem to think they are the Red Baron as they do pathetic little aerobatics just over my house...... grrrr! -
thanks. Have looked at that website. That was how I got the impression the motorway junction itself might be ok you seem to be saying so too.
-
Does anybody know know more about this? The traffic news web site makes it look as if it might only be the bit from the motorway north towards the airport that is flooded. Can you get off the m27 on to stoneham way south into the city?
