  1. Spot on.
  2. Spot on.
  3. Don't really care whether or not they compliment each other. It's whether they complement that matters. Mind you, it would be rather sweet if they kept telling each other how much they liked each others latest haircut etc ;-)
  4. But not a very funny one.
  5. Have you looked it up yet?
  6. If ever there was a good example of an oxymoron .............
  7. Yoshida was terrible at left back, but he wasn't so bad on the right. Neither he nor Cork are much good there though! He is however a perfectly competent centre back., much better than many on here are giving him credit for. I wouldn't want to rely on him as our first choice for a whole season ,but he's a good standard for a premier league 'reserve'.
  8. Apart from the everlasting medicals he's supposedly had, seriously, is he fit enough to play immediately? He was reported to have some sort of muscular injury, and even if that is better now, presumably he's not been training flat out
  9. K Billy on the transfer rumours thread said that Gardos went home on Sunday and that he's not sure what's happening over this one. So, for a start, the media reporting that he's been having medicals over the past few days have been talking balls, and secondly, it doesn't sound too promising for an imminent signing.
  10. Thanks for this,. Hard to find any actual news, or even decent rumours, amongst all the boring squabbling many posters fill these threads with. anybody seen any other confirmation?
  11. It' s not an inside story at all though is it? There is very little in the piece that I couldn't have written myself, and I am very definitely not ITK. An an inside story would tell WHY we sold the players and whether KL's intentions really are what we've been told etc.
  12. It's not such a bad strategy if we have pre-agreed transfer fees in place if we want the player(s) at the end of the loan. 'Try before you buy' might have saved us quite a bit on Osvaldo. Mind you if a player does really well on loan, even an agreed transfer fee doesn't mean he will agree wages to sign.
  13. what does the onerous loan redemption bit mean? Are we paying them that, or them paying us? Or is it a pre-agreed fee if the loan becomes permanent?
  14. Fai enough but a good away win at a team near the top of the division below ours last season, is encouraging nonetheless
  15. just stopped during half time. should re-stat now. if not, refresh
  16. Team news?
  17. thanks for the link. Smashing bloke, and good to hear him saying the saints supporters are magnificent. It actually means something form a man who has left us and has nothing to gain from ingratiating himself .
  18. Still think he is as good as, or maybe better than, Wanyama. It would be shockingly bad management to lose him for peanuts just because we haven't sorted out a reasonable contract for him...... especially if we then have to pay through the nose to replace him.
  19. ha ha. Wouldn't he rather play for Sean Dyche?
  20. What I don't see explained in the regs that I've read, is ....... year 1: club exceeds the £4million pay increase by say £20million, raising its wage bill form say the £52 bear point to £72 million. It is punished. year 2 : is the club's base wage bill now £72million? So it could continue to pay £72 million, or indeed raise it by another £4 million, with no further punishment? if so, it may even be a sensible tactic for a club (with a rich backer) to deliberately break the rules and take even a points deduction one year, to allow it to compete with the big boys in future years.
  21. Look at QPR. Drove a cart and horses through the regulations last season, with Redknapp doing his usual. They risked a points deduction, but are currently 'expecting' only a big fine. Though there doesn't seem much sign of them actually paying it.
  22. try http://www.footballgroundguide.com/brighton_and_hove_albion/ which mentions several park & rides. It is a terrible stadium for parking
  23. re-signing Cork and Fonte tomorrow would be a start.
  24. The big question is how big a cake did we get him?
  25. Look on the bright side. With all this income, we're not likely to go into administration again this season!
