Do the big clubs actually have to pay for their main kits at all? I'd be very surprised. On the other hand, I'm sure the manufacturers will only produce non-pattern kits for the big clubs.

Unless my ability to read and comprehend has deserted me, Pap never said that G12 is a religion. His comment/question was on the speed of growth of religions that use (or used) the G12 method.

Very sad news. Excellent actor, superb in The Long Good Friday, Pennies From Heaven and so much more besides. By all accounts a really decent bloke too. RIP Bob.

What is the weirdest own goal scored at a Saints game?

Superb - hadn't seen that before. -

Bloody hell, that's well remembered! Don't know why on earth I had Donachie in mind. It was a cracker though. -

It's a long time ago, but I remember a Rangers player (possibly Willie Donachie) chipping his keeper quite beautifully from the corner of the box in an Anglo-Scottish Cup match. -
Surely only you know the answer to that question.

What the hell is the matter with the Daily Mail ???
Fowllyd replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
What oxymoron? -
Do you not know what he does then?
-
Not for the first time, you make no sense at all. You say that you don't know what Les Reed does at the club, but in the same breath you say he shouldn't be here (or anywhere near any football club, come to that). If you don't know what he does, how are you in any position to comment on how well he does it?
-
Given that you are so disparaging of him and of his performance, surely you must know what his role is?
-
Very well put. It's safe to say, I think, that the Catholic church bears a massive responsibility; first by insisting on keeping the Gospels in Latin, which the majority could not understand, and secondly by focussing on Christ's birth and death and pretty much ignoring everything in between. Burning of heretics wasn't too nice either, come to that.

So that would be about 20p to hear all you know about football then. Still not tempting I'm afraid.

So. Farewell then, David Moyes. Your time at Manchester United Has come to a close. You were the chosen one. The annointed successor to the great leader. Or so it was said. However, you could not Successfully fill the shoes Of your predecessor. Not unlike Kim Jong-Un Perhaps. But at least you did not Force all Manchester United staff To adopt a Kim-style haircut. A shame, as I think that It might have suited Marouane Fellaini.

Kind of like this, did you mean?
-
Not at all. Barry's idea of what the club should be saying is perfectly simple - they should say whatever they're not saying, and then he'll be happy.

Was about to post the same thing. For non-Francophones, follow this link http://www.hat-trick.fr/morgan-schneiderlin-joueur-de-l-ombre/ and scroll to the end of the original interview. The translation that follows is excellent. A very good read it is too.

He'll be quaking in his shoes already at the thought, I'm sure.

Like it.

I'm still clinging to my hopes of a Richie Barker/Steve Coppell dream ticket.

Being in the wrong place at the wrong time - Chance/luck or something more?
Fowllyd replied to Spudders's topic in The Lounge
Older posters may remember a Channel 4 sitcom from about 30 years ago called Chance In A Million, which starred Simon Callow and Brenda Blethyn. Callow's character, Tom Chance, was just like Mrs Spudders, except more so (I obviously don't mean this in a physical way, unless there are things that Spudders isn't telling us). Wherever he went odd things happened to him; he was entirely accustomed to this and brushed it al off with the line "Coincidence - happens to me all the time..." -
If you live in an older house (Victorian or older), it would be well worth lifting the carpet and having a look at the original boards underneath it. If they're in reasonable shape - not too many replacement pieces, cuts or holes - then have them sanded and given a protective coating. Old floorboards (which would normally be seasoned pine) will take on a really nice colour with age, so you probably wouldn't need to stain them. If you live in a fairly new house, feel free to disregard everything I've just said! I'd still reckon that a wood floor will look good in your house, whatever its age.

Ralph Krueger signs up for Saints Foundation bike ride to Villa Park
Fowllyd replied to DuncanRG's topic in The Saints
He desperately needs a larger bike with the saddle set a good bit higher. He'll knacker his back riding that one. Other than that, great that he's doing it. -
Perhaps his ultimate aim Is to become The EJ Thribb of Local sports Journalism.

That never fails to bring a smile to my face...
