Forte and Barnard - legends for THAT game vs MK Dons alone.

" A maximum of £2m to the football players owed monies " = "we won't honour football creditors in full"

Which rather suggests that Portpin is not particularly pleased with the offer? And which therefore drives a bus through the bid (amongst the various other reasons). However, i do wonder if they have looked at what Eastleigh is doing with the Rose Bowl as some sort of precedent... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/9841256.Go_ahead_to_plough___35m_taxpayers_cash_into_Ageas_Bowl/

Agree... without that test, you could pull any manner of stunts swapping one bidder for another and creditors not getting to change their vote...
-
Surely the Trust's bid is now irrelevant unless Chainrai pulls out? Chainrai's bid has been accepted by creditors (who have had the 28 day cooling off period to change their mind) and therefore the only way for the Chainrai bid to fail is if Chainrai decides that his conditions on releasing players have not been met (or else the FAPPT rejects him, but i can't see that happening).

"HOME PAGE" I see they are employing people fresh out of "how to build your own webpage" school!

Man, this stuff is confusing... Comparing the running a web forum to being in the style of the Third Reich (also known as a "simile") - not ok Accusing someone (deceased) / his father of actually being a Nazi - totally fine Did I get that right?
-
They appear to have cast Chainrai as some sort of god figure, able to summon lightning bolts at will to strike down the plucky few. In fact the whole thing has a "pantheon of the gods" thing going on. Perhaps that's the inner inferiority complex of the average skate showing through.

Right up there with Yarmouth - congrats!

Why did we put up temporary electronic advertising for a pre-season friendly that wasn't televised?
-
Could we have a separate thread to bicker about our catchment area / stadium capacity / pricing policy / ambition and all the rest of it, rather than ****ing all over every other thread? I really feel it could quickly rise to 1000+ posts given the evidently massive interest in the topic within our Internet fan base. Now what to call it... How about "pompous troll saga"?
-
Ditto! Will it be one of those "where were you when you heard the news?" moments that we will all look back on fondly for years to come...?
-
Interesting to hear about the Ashton Gate 8 on that talksport clip... http://www.bbc.co.uk/bristol/content/articles/2007/01/24/ashtongate8interviews_feature.shtml The players Geoff Merrick, Chris Garland, Trevor Tainton, David Rodgers, Jimmy Mann, Gerry Sweeney, Peter Aitken and Julian Marshall, all had to agree to the proposed idea that they would only get half of their contract, if they left. Half their contract? Skate players could only dream of a compromise agreement of that scale!

I wonder what King Edwards think about having skate bedsheets draped over their school crest.
-
Wow, you'd think someone would proofread it first...

The gas works thing shows them up for what they are. Nothing like a few holocaust jokes to make you feel better, eh?
-
Oh dear, looks like it's all getting a bit much for them. Keep up the good work nutjobs!

Mark Hughes, Stuart Ripley and... Mark Paul, IIRC...

How many police complaints do you think we can file for incitement to violence then? After all, the precedents have been set recently...
-
Oh wow, threats of physical violence. Stay classy skates.

If this gets through, look out for a rash of new recruitment in the ticket office, reception and admin parts of PFCNewco2010... "Oh no, I'm just here for the great opportunity of filing paperwork in the shredder...", said the latest recruit, as he pulled on his boots and picked up his suitcase full of this week's pay... "i just registered as a player to help the lads out cos they were short of numbers"

Correct me if i'm wrong, but of the OldCo creditors wrapped up in to the one neat bundle managed by Baker Tilley isn't HMRC by far the lion's share, as all the football creditors are not included in that (even though they got to vote)? Does anyone have an idea of how much? i.e. how much is the BT amount worth in total, and what was HMRC's claim? Presumably if they are going to try and set up some sort of crazy secondary CVA vote, then HMRC will wipe the floor with them? And a further thought - if they do go ahead with this, wouldn't it effectively be an admission that the oldco/newco ploy was in fact just a ruse to work around insolvency legislation, and that the CVA1 creditors should still really be considered creditors of the newco after all?
-
Oh NOW they want to talk to their creditors... and there was me thinking it was all to be done via Baker Tilley... "Hello Mr Birch, yes I'm calling from HMRC ..."
