I can't be arsed to drag up the thread, but there were many who wrote him off after his first two games. That said he looks in significantly better shape than when he joined us. For me, he was core to our survival last year.

The thing that unsettled Swansea for our first goal was the pressing from the front, again. We battered United second half at Old Trafford last year and need to apply the same tactics next Saturday. The five goals they scored against us were soft defensively, they won't have the same luxury this season. I'd start with the same 11 with the obvious exception of Shaw for Fox.

Perhaps Danny should get on Twitter and banter with the fans or adopt a Prutton style clapping regime? If it wasn't him it would be someone else. Ramirez must be delighted every time Fox plays. He isn't as good as Luke Shaw, his positional play is poor but that is a minor crime in comparison to heckling your own.

Danny Fox, whilst not in Luke Shaw's league, improved massively last year as the season went on. United deliberately targeted him at OT last year and he withstood the test IMHO. He does a job for us, anyone would think he's Ali Dia from reading the comments on here.

Don't normally comment on referees but he did well and deserves a mention. He got the pivotal call correct, had he not we were staring down the barrel of a penalty against us and playing the remaining 70 minutes with 10 men. On the stream at full speed I genuinely thought penalty!

Its no worse than half the guff I hear in the stands. The forum is about opinions, he's entitled to his - as you are to yours.

Don't know why everyone gets so wound up by Alpine. Everyone knows he is emotional, prone to over reaction and a natural pessimist about us! He is a Saints fan and cares as much as any of us (in his own way). So give peace a chance and enjoy this rarified air!
