  1. I think PES has missed the logical conclusion of my point, don't spend beyond your means. Success is built on cultivating a fan base not buying mercinaries on the credit card.
  2. Laughing at PES' stats. I said extended period, most would normally take this to mean 10,20 maybe 25 years..... you seem to believe stats from the 1900's are relevant!

A real shame on such a good day. Mum should appreciate that their are nob-heads everywhere, if it wasn't at a Saints game it may well have been at a pub in town.
  4. I have edited on behalf of our English speakers.

Have to agree with S_C. He gave glimpes of being a great striker. He scored some cracking goals but just never did 'it' enough. However, He Could Have Done A Job For Us, Didn't, So Pass Thanks HCDAJFUSSPT
  6. Interesting points from PES. Should they get promoted their imposion would be even more spectacular. There are a two points worth making at this junture. a) Why are there parachute payments? This mechanism encourages clubs to 'bet the farm' on staying in the franchise that has become the Premier League. Poopey are gambling on a promotion to either get a sale or 4 years with their snouts in the trough. Turkey's vetoeing Christmas I would imagine. b) I truly believe their is a long term principle that tracks success versus support base to an equilibrium. In simple terms for those of you tinged in blue, this means that over an extended period those with the biggest fan bases such as Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, Citeh, Spuds will be the most succesful. Based on this Saints are lower Prem, the blue few (or laterally, phew) mid to lower champ.

  8. Great result after a terrible start.

  10. Team to follow.
  11. Fact when it is their manager, fiction with our's.
  12. Perhaps Cortese traced the signings of Pulis, Gasmi and Forecast back to him?

  14. and be accused of editing someones contribution without cause? Never!
  15. As you haven't departed do you think it appropriate to be on a departed member thread? On the other point if you look at your profile the infractions tab should give you the detail on why you received 3 points.
  16. Edited. I don't know, let the registered users start threads and look at the chaos it causes ;-)
  17. Given that this has turned into a thread of forum suggestions you may want to read and comment on Saint_Clark's proposal. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?26034-Member-departures
  18. Deppo will be back to bring light to your lives when his ban ends. As far as I can see it is a sin-bin not a permanent ban. I have called the Samaritans in Southampton and they have stood down their reserves now the news that he may be returning is in the public domain.
  19. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Kushnir-in-frame-for-Pompey.6600789.jp So the spotlight shifts to Kushnir as Chanrai takes a back seat. Remind me, why would Kushnir be at the offices on deadline day, surely the independent administrator was running the club's financial affairs and not one of the creditors who is alleged to have taken a "more prominent role"?
  20. Given your previous posting record I am awaiting Chanrai to inject £10m, clear the debt and sign the remainder of the Premiership side.
  21. 4 minutes and actioned with pleasure. I rate Lockley Farm, Arborfield in Berkshire.
  22. Nope, but we might auction the rights for someone to do so if funds get low ;-) * *NB This is Banter*
  23. Great, we have a fresh start then!
  24. Our problem was paying the tax bill, just imagine how long we could have traded using the HMRC as our overdraft.
  25. From memory Chelsea offered £8m for Le Tiss when Matthew Harding was in charge. In today's money that has to be £30-40m Still on the other hand, applying that logic would make Dean Richards £25m!
