  1. I said express, not have faith. See Essruu's point. Not everyone needs religious faith and belief to feel whole/complete as an individual. If you do, more power to you but in the same way you would want others to appreciate your religious conviction, please do not look down on others who do not need or identify with it.
  2. For once, I agree with Essruu! No, but they no doubt express themselves in different ways.
  3. Then why else support a football club? If it was all about love for the sport or a desire to win then everyone would just support one of the champions league qualifiers, that's the only way you could actively be involved with the best standard. Alternatively just do away with following a single club and be neutral, missing out on the highs and lows that being partisan can bring. I identify with Southampton as my friends follow them, I spent my teenage years in Hampshire (Winchester) and enjoy the experience of attending the matches in the part of the country that I feel is home. I'm not referring to harking back to anything, it's something more fundamental.
  4. Organised religion, a tool used for population control, oppression and something that has many atrocities committed in it's name based on scripture from before living memory that has been constantly revised and adapted depending on what the current climate dictates. Something that can provide hope from faith but something that can also inspire utter horror. Football. A sport, that while full of politics involves the eleven men out on the pitch representing a community, identity, area that you identify with. It's something that is constantly evolving in front of your eyes, something that you can see. You will never in your lifetime see someone see a guy turning water into wine with no other tool then divinity, yet you will see flashes of utter genius that can change the mood, provide hope and joy of many people I know what I would rather put my 'faith' in.
  5. Fingers crossed it has a little more edge then the well intentioned but sterile fanzine launched a year ago.
  6. I presume all the hot birds will be fag hags then?
  7. He is however key to many parts of how we play and one of our best players. It will effect how they set up tactically.
  8. At least they will have to go to the effort of finding out, better then Nigel saying it and saving them the time, effort, resource, etc.
  9. Anything, anything at all that gives us any advantage, no matter how small should be used. These are the principles that helped Bradley Wiggins to win the Tour de France. Take many little things that help and add them together. Anything which can leave an element of doubt or lack of clarity to our opponents will only be of benefit.
  10. Sorry, Totally disagree. Keep your cards close to your chest, it will put the opposition on the back foot when he returns. Frustrating for the fans but utterly sensible when it comes to competition. Maintain the poker face.
  11. That needs to be bottled and marketed. #myidea
  12. Just a few days after Billy Sharp! 9 months ago....... the end of March, what could have been in the air back then?
  13. It's good to have a few pantomime villains at this time of year. The skates just leave us spoilt for choice!!
  14. Yep, class-less idiot.
  15. Any one of the Pixar films they will inevitably screen on Xmas day. (Except Cars)
  16. Now, building up to that level leaves me concerned. The swing part of the exercise puts a lot of load on the core.... and crucially also the lower back, which I have had issues with for years. Small steps I think. Get to the point where I am (relatively) comfortable with the 8kg and then up to a 12kg one I feel.
  17. Of course, how silly of me. These self funding autonomous academies sound such a simple yet great idea, it makes you wonder why no-one else has thought of it before.... especially in the lower leagues where players can be snapped up for essentially nothing now!
  18. Absolutely. The academy that will receive no funding will magically produce youngsters that they can sell on for a profit.
  19. I suspect there is no way, no way at all Jason Puncheon will sign a new contract here. And we will all lose out for that. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/entry.php?96-The-Rascal
  20. I find the concept of prayer patronising; but knock yourself out....
  21. As I said, personally I hope he is ok. When all you see is the anger, sarcasm and condescension it's difficult to say any more mind, threads like this, attacking those who are utterly harmless, do not help him. From personal experience this is a terrible time of year when it comes to upheaval in your personal life, I wouldn't wish it on anyone; Regardless of how insulting they had been in the past.
  22. Based on what you see in person day to day (i'm guessing....) sure. Based on here day to day, a different story. I hope he's ok. Equally though he seems intelligent enough in conversation to be self aware enough to understand how this front makes him seem, surely?
  23. Maybe so, but now and again the pigeons need to come home to roost. You can't just give all the time. (And yes, the comment made regarding his mother earlier was utterly out of order. It needs dealing with.)
  24. The self proclaimed 'alpha male' can look after himself i'm sure.
