Using Ramirez and Mayuka effectively will be an interesting challenge for Adkins. They are not typical wingers, they play more centrally but then how we have played recently has utilised players who are not typical widemen and deployed them in a fluid system that encourages them to spread to the wings and deliver the ball. Memories of Rickie Lambert drifting out to the left and right wings in League 1, totally contrary to the all out target/hold up man deployed by Pardew. Adam lallana, a man without pace being used as a left sided winger/attacker. The nurturing of a 4-3-3 esque wing forward type system to encorporate this talent and the usen of our then record signing on the left flank against Man City with Do Prado at the centre forward. It would be no surprise for me at all to see Ramirez and Mayuka used on the flanks of a three way attack. It may defy convention but it seems to be the direction Adkins is taking us. Could it also be his downfall at this level? Only time will tell.

Now, the idea of many exam boards. At School and Sixth form a decade ago, it wasn't so much a case of being taught a curriculum, it was an obvious and open philosophy for both Kings' School Winchester and Peter Symmond's College to play the exam boards to maximise chances of success, grades and therefore funding rather then teaching within a set format to get the Children to learn for their own benefit. It's quite symptomatic of the country as a whole. A culture of playing the system rather then reach for true excellence and achievement. For me, the use of only one exam board for the Baccalaureate qualifications can only be a good thing in preventing this game playing.

So, back to the optimism. The dilemma of fitting in a 7 million pound striker and 12 million pound playmaker into a side. What a terrible trauma.

Trolling, such a shame. Seriously, go play with your 3 kids for a bit at some point, it'll do you the power of good!
-
Ok, I grant you that. Well biten. Either way, your sort is not welcome here sonny! You are in no way optimistic Alpine, just a fact. It's so nice being in the Premier League, two divisions above the skates and worrying about such matters premier league survival rather then overcoming -10 points and being managerless in the League 1 relegation zone.

Which indicates that this may be a quality/concentration issue rather then anything particularly wrong behind the scenes. It took Swansea a little while to adapt last year, and having been thrown in at the deep end this, we are also needing to adjust swiftly. Whether we have players who are resilient enough to adapt to the Premier League remains to be seen. The games against Villa and Everton will be far better indications of our true standing then matches against three champions league hopefulls. (Wigan, as said above, the Di Santo goal was superb.... Fonte for the second.... symptomatic of my point. Needless.)

Down negative man, down! This is not the place. If you wish to microanalyse every shortcoming there are more then enough threads for that purpose, in the mean time this is a haven for those with a more pragmatic view.

No. On so many levels no.

Is there any chance of showering at the Pyramids after the event?

#Perspective.

Mind if I borrow that?

There would surely be the demand to recall Aaron "Not featuring for Crystal Palace" Martin first though?
-
Would make a reasonable amount of sense. That source though.......

That's what happened the last time we lost 6-1 at Arsenal. We also reached a cup final and beat them 3-2 at home!

No.

It's mostly just rolled rice in seaweed. The fish is usually cooked in western sushi.

Dad is looking to buy a smartphone, his current mobile phone handset is obsolete and his digital camera has just broken, therefore he sees this as a great way to tick both boxes. He has a vodafone PAYG sim card and would want to go and swap that into a new handset. I've found this one: http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/mobile-phone/huawei-ascend-g300-payg 5 megapixel camera, more then good enough for what he would use it for. And good enough for pretty much anything he could need. (He doesn't use facebook, has no concept of cloud computing or any such thing, he wants a handset that telephones, sends txts, does reasonable pictures and lets him check the football scores now and then....) Any further ideas?

Doing a bit of a search, the only player I can find any reference to is Harrison Dunk (Cambridge United full back, ex Bromley), there is an ex Skate youth player called Scott Harris (Born in 1985, not 1988 though...) so those look like non-league players. Maybe she's trying to prove a point to those at the Skates, right now they are earning money.... they don't have it so bad.

Two years ago we were in league 1 without a manager wondering how we could have started our 125th year so badly, and now we are wondering how our 12 million pound Uruguayan international will make a difference to our fortunes in the top flight. Life is good.
-
We have just gained back to back promotions, to survive after that would be astonishing. If relegation happens this year he should be given the chance to take us up at the first attempt, he has earned the right to try. The grass isn't always greener elsewhere.

Careful, you might be encouraging elitism.

Considering that a C grade is the minimum cut of for many purposes, then yes... there is a grey area of failure. To many major ends, a D grade for English or Mathematics is considered as failure, which calls into question the value of to differences between a D or an E grade in Core subjects such as these.

I dearly hope so, then the second biggest fan owned club in the country will have a chance to find their true level.
-
Not sure, it's why I asked. Always wanted to try but would want to hear of other's experiences first.

Yeah, this is an issue. Ideally a shower after would be good before heading to St Mary's...... no idea where I'll be able to do that though! (pyramids leisure centre?) Do the race in 1hr 40 minutes, that'll make it 12.20 when I finish. It's going to be one hell of a push to make it.
