All the new forum threads on the home page are blue now too. It's a conspiracy.

Southampton: Davis Ostlund Powell Davies Wright Saganowski (McGoldrick 80) Idiakez (Wright-Phillips 57) Viafara (Hammill 87) Surman Euell John Subs Not Used: Poke Thomas

Well, that puts my pick of Belmadi into perspective!
-
Didn't they show this game on ESPN Classic not long ago?
-
That was just a hypothetic Burley team with many CM's team from back in the day, my serious pick was further up.
-
Ah, back in the day.... ----------------------- John ---------------------- Hammill -------------------------------------- Licka ----------Safri ------ Wright ----- Idiakez --------- Skacel ------- Bennett ----- Pele -------- Thomas ---------------------- Bart ------------------------ Not sure how to fit 6 in though.......

Ah, George Burley's 'Morning After the Night Before' tactic.

I stand by my choice. As for Alan Bennett, after the Palace game, ok, but away to Cov that season he was phenominal!

-------------- Robertson ----------- Baseya --------------- Hammill ------- Idiakez ------------ Sarmiento ------- Belmadi O'Halloran ----- Powell ------------ Lancashire ------- Wright ------------------------- Bart ----------------------------- Sarmiento for the shocker away to Notts County Belmadi for flattering to deceive after the wonder goal v Crewe (I can understand if that should make him exempt though) He never released the f**king ball when he needed to! May be harsh on Cedric Baseya but to be fair he has vanished without trace. And Robertson, well, one swallow doesn't make a summer.

Yes he will be opposing us next year but the man who sowed some not insignificant seeds here had just been named as Premier League manager of the season. Bravo Alan.

Season Tickets 'how many will we sell next season'
Colinjb replied to djharvey's topic in The Saints
I remember reading something similar, but I believed it was a premier league rule that only a certain %age of the stadium capacity could be set aside for season ticket sales. -
Well, they havn't started building yet.

Well, it obviously did a lot of long term damage.

In ten years time. "Didn't Portsmouth have a football team once?" "Nah...... you must be thinking of Southampton...... They reached a cup final in 2003, must be them..." "No, they played in Blue!" "What? Reading..... Brighton.....?"

So tragic, a victim of mistaken identity, just like the last local drive by. #sniff#

And to think, I once admired your steadfast consistency.

Of those, 2 out of ten are newly promoted sides. They both went the season after. Bradford did the same. Wouldn't be a good omen, I grant you that but remember also the examples of Birmingham, Reading and Ipswich in recent times. More then safe in their first season then down. (Ipswich came 5th for pities sake!!!)

Pressumably the same TalkSh*te that had presenters saying words to the effect of 'Saints in White with a red sash? What was that about!?' Clueless f**kers.
