  1. Absolutely. If I had approached football with the mindset that the unlikely will never happen I would have given up on supporting Saints before I had even begun!
  2. Certainly inspires confidence doesn't it!
  3. I should be voting for UKIP!
  4. UKIP for me. I'm seriously considering voting for them rather then the Tory's, Fence sitters and Champagne socialists.
  5. He was very fortunate to get away with only a warning for 'excessive weaving.' Good work by Vitali Petrov to fight back at him.
  6. I hope Haye can win, and would love to see the fight.... but 15 quid for something that could last less then 3 minutes!? Jesus.....
  7. Just watched 'The Damned United' and the special features within. It keeps saying this time and again as if on face value. I genuinely want to hear people's opinions on this, he was a damned good manager at club level (With Peter Taylor by his side...) but would he really have done it for England?

    4-5-1

Was something of a bizare call.
  9. Does your Avatar seriously have a striped guy ****ing on a traditional sash shirt?
  10. Bless you alpine, bless you muchly.
  11. I am cheering on my team at St Mary's. Thanks for asking. Regardless of the 'point' it's a good time to be a fan, I enjoy football full stop, and I love to see my team take the field regardless.
  12. The JPT didn't cost us. The instability from the period of adminsitration coupled with a lack of preperation for the season as a result did contribute. The club is still building, still adjusting. It is very evident that in ideal conditions we can beat anyone, but those conditions do not exist at all grounds and clubs Our response to this next year is key. But we do not need a totally flawless record to go up. Just ask S****horpe, Peterborough, Bristol City and Plymouth Argyle of this.
  13. Never been called evangelical before! Thankyou? I guess? Better that then manically depressive. Administration is life support, without it you die as you have stopped breathing already. I will not retract that perspective.
  14. Sadly, by very definition a cliché exists because it is an overused facet of truth. I have reasons for my opinion as you do yours. Nonetheless we all want the best for Saints long term, lets see how it pans out and remember to have a sense of perspective in these matters. We all want it so much, but ultimately it is just football. Controversial statement though it is, there is more to life.
  15. You dismiss my comments as excuses and justifications. Please. Provide further insight I may be missing regarding your perspective. And by all means, feel free to agree with me that we are all on the same side!!!
  16. Quite. And my post has been subtly editted accordingly.
  17. Please, Alpine, I do not understand why you feel the need to display such vitriol. Yes, we lost ground, and I can forgive your emotion as a result. If you have issue with my post, by all means feel free to disect the points I made and find fault in them, I will be happy then on to provide a counter point. This is a forum, this is about opinion, it is about expression and opinion. We are all on the same side, we have the same desire ultimately, to see this football club suceed. We are not enemies. So let's be adult about this shall we?
  18. I do agree with this. It is consistently bad for every team in the league.
  19. You dodge the point like a politician. I almost respect that.
  20. Care to analyse and appraise rather then provide soundbites? As for a lack of ambition, pragmatism at a time of dissapointment is infinitely better then knee jerk wrist slashing ever will be.
  21. After the joy of Sunday maybe we should have anticipated a 'poor' result against an in form and resilient Brighton team on their home turf, their windswept, furrowed turf. What we couldn't anticipate is the shear amount of negativity the poor result can bring. 12 months ago today the club basically died. And to be where we are now is an absolute Miracle. Avoid the wrist slashing, avoid the misplaced arrogance that we should be walking the league, appreciate that we have done superbly well, after no pre-season, and with still a rather shallow squad in one key area to be where we are. Football is not a maths equation, it is not a case of pour in enough money and let the good times roll, if it was, Mark Hughes would have led Man City to the premier league in their first season under arabic ownership. It needs more, something often intangible to those on the outside looking in. We are in a completely charmed position now. After 5 seasons of utter crap we have a bright future. Stay humble, dignified and patient and the good times are on their way back. Hell, even Fergie had a few dogy YEARS before setting Man utd on course....
  22. Any trophy is something to be bothered about. It was hardly the most prestigous competition granted, but what a day. I wouldn't swap it for anything. If our descent from the premier league should have taught us anything, be grateful for what you have! We have no devine right to anything. Lets not become another Leeds, so arrogant that everyone hates us.
  23. GET IN!!!! Time for a final push now! Silence the idiots....
  24. Did you go to Wembley?
  25. Something for the summer I feel. Schneiderlin and Hammond seem to be crucial links without backup. Defense? Fine Attack? Fine Midfield? The wings are sorted but lets add some more class in the centre.
